The coupling tour with MOTLEY CRUE was a great success, and DEF LEPPARD’s experimental and ambitious album “DRASTIC SYMPHONIES” was well received. Their latest pro shot is here.
This work was filmed at “May 19, 2023 in Sheffield”. It is the multi-camera pro shot. Currently, they are carrying out “The World Tour” with MOTLEY CRUE again. This work is not that one act …. In order to explain the situation around that, let’s look back on the progress since last year when we started working with MOTLEY CRUE.

This is the schedule for 2022/2023 that has been announced so far. Last year’s “North America # 1” was a great success at “The Stadium Tour”, and this year’s “North America # 2 / South America”, “Europe”, “North America # 3” and “Australia” are “The World Tour”. The Sheffield performance of this work is a warm-up club gig that took place just before that. It was a special performance of DEF LEPPARD alone.
This work, which conveys the scene, is a superlative multi-camera pro shot. As a matter of fact, it seems that it was edited and produced by overseas enthusiasts rather than broadcasting or distribution, but there is no audience material at all. If the sound is also a complete stereo sound board, a perfect professional video that makes full use of both the scene and the shooting from the stage. I feel that the screen is a little dark to call it “completely official grade”, but it is not unnatural as it is a production that reproduces the atmosphere of the club. No matter how you look at it, it is an impregnable top professional shot.
A special club gig that is different from usual is drawn with such a mysterious transcendental quality. It’s interesting just to have a narrow, narrow stage where you can’t move, but the set was actually special. Speaking of professional shots that captured their warm-up gig, last year’s “THE WHISKY 2022 (Shades 1539)” is new to memory. Let’s sort it out by comparing.

The axis is neither “HYSTERIA” nor “PYROMANIA” but “HIGH ‘N’ DRY”. “THE WHISKY 2022” was a Greatest Hits that also conforms to the coupling tour with MOTLEY CRUE, but this work has only 6 songs. Moreover, the above songs marked with “★” were not played on the current “The World Tour”, and more than half of them were special numbers for club gigs. In particular, “Too Late For Love” after a long time will be performed with a new arrangement of “DRASTIC SYMPHONIES” (without the orchestra).
DEF LEPPARD is once again making stadiums around the world excited with MOTLEY CRUE. It is a superb professional shot of a club gig that concentrates its huge energy in a narrow narrow space. A special video masterpiece that is different from usual in terms of sights, performances and set lists. Please enjoy it to the fullest!

そんな本作が撮影されたのは「2023年５月19日シェフィールド公演」。そのマルチカメラ・プロショットです。現在の彼らは再びMOTLEY CRUEと組んだ“The World Tour”を実施中。本作は、その一幕……では、ありません。その辺の状況をご説明するためにも、MOTLEY CRUEと組み始めた昨年からの歩みを振り返ってみましょう。

これが現在までに公表されている2022年／2023年のスケジュール。昨年の「北米#1」が大成功となった“The Stadium Tour”で、今年の「北米#2/南米」「欧州」「北米#3」「豪州」が“The World Tour”です。本作のシェフィールド公演は、その直前に行われたウォームアップ的なクラブ・ギグ。DEF LEPPARD単独の特別公演でした。
その現場を伝える本作は、極上級のマルチカメラ・プロショット。実のところ、放送や配信ではなく海外マニアが編集・製作したものらしいのですが、オーディエンス素材はまったくナシ。サウンドも完全ステレオサウンドボードなら、光景もステージ上からの撮影も駆使された完璧なプロ映像。「完全オフィシャル級」と呼ぶにはやや画面が暗めな気もしますが、それもクラブの雰囲気を再現した演出という感じで不自然さはない。どこからどう見ても鉄壁の極上級プロショットです。
そんな不思議な超絶クオリティで画かれるのは、普段とは異なる特別クラブ・ギグ。身動きできない狭い狭いステージというだけでも面白いですが、実はセットも特別でした。彼らのウォームアップ・ギグを捉えたプロショットと言えば、昨年の『THE WHISKY 2022（Shades 1539）』が記憶に新しいところ。比較しながら整理してみましょう。
