This is 1987 DEEP PURPLE. The “THE HOUSE OF BLUE LIGHT Tour” will continue in 1988, and there are quite a few of our collections, but it’s hard to understand if you put them all together. Here, only the recording date of the symbolic work “NOBODY’S PERFECT” and the sister work “HARTFORD 1987 (Shades 1502)” are posted (By the way, the Italian performance adopted for “NOBODY’S PERFECT” is slightly different depending on the material, so with “?” It was made). The US tour started from the Quebec performance (4/15), and the Portland performance of this work is the next day. It was an early stage with a lot of kick-off momentum.
This work, which is vacuum packed from such a site, is a powerful yet beautiful neat recording. It’s not mistaken for a sound board because of its slightly warm tone, but on the other hand, it doesn’t have a sense of distance. The density of the mid-low range is tightly packed, and the feeling of squishyness is not complete. Although it sucks in the sound of the hall, it gives thickness and dynamism to the already powerful core, and it is a powerful recording that the five people’s performances are approaching in front of you.
Moreover, it is beautiful even though it is so powerful. If Ritchie’s mischievous phrase like whispering is also Katsuaki, even if all five people approach with Fortissimo, they will not be scared at all. This recording was unearthed from the early Power Gate label (as introduced at the beginning) and is the original master provided by the people involved. Since it is digitized directly from there, there are no dubbing marks such as twists and distortions. Above all, it is a recording known for its preciousness, but it is more than a masterpiece in terms of sound.
And then, the show drawn with that sound … This is already amazing! It’s too amazing !! I’m dizzy at the ultimate rarity of “Mad Dog”, which has been once clear in history, but it’s not the only one. Let’s organize the one and only full set here.

There is no other rare song “Call Of The Wild” (you can enjoy this song in our masterpiece “HUNGARIAN LIGHTS (Shades 456)”), but the total rarity of half of all 10 songs on the album. 昨今、再評価著しい『THE HOUSE OF BLUE LIGHT』時代ですが、今週は姉妹の名録音が２作同時リリース決定。本作は、その第一弾となる「1987年４月16日ポートランド公演」。その絶品オーディエンス録音です。本作最大のポイントは「Mad Dog」の聴ける事。何しろ、この曲がライヴで確認されたのは、後にも先にもポートランド公演の１回こっきり。35年を経た現在でもなお、この録音でしか聴けない究極レアなライヴアルバムなのです。

これが1987年のDEEP PURPLE。“THE HOUSE OF BLUE LIGHT Tour”は1988年も続きますし、当店コレクションも結構な本数があるわけですが、全部載せたら分かりづらい。ここでは象徴作『NOBODY’S PERFECT』の収録日と姉妹作『HARTFORD 1987（Shades 1502）』だけを掲載しました（ちなみに『NOBODY’S PERFECT』に採用されたイタリア公演は資料によって微妙に異なるので「？」付きとしました）。ケベック公演（4/15）から全米ツアーが始まり、本作のポートランド公演はその翌日。まさにキックオフの勢い溢れる序盤のステージだったわけです。
そんな現場を真空パックした本作は、力強くも美しい端正録音。ややウォームな音色からサウンドボードと間違える事はないのですが、その一方で距離感もない。中低音の密度がみっちりと詰まっておりスカスカ感がまるでない。ホール鳴りも吸い込んではいるものの、それがただでさえ強力な芯に厚みとダイナミズムを与えており、５人の演奏が克明なまま目の前に迫るパワフル録音なのです。
しかも、それだけ力強いくせに美しい。囁くようなリッチーの悪戯フレーズも克明なら、５人全員がフォルテッシモで迫ってもまったくビビらない。この録音は初期Power Gateレーベルから発掘されたもので（冒頭でご紹介した通り）関係者提供のオリジナル・マスター。そこからダイレクトにデジタル化されているため、ヨレや歪みといったダビング痕も見当たらない。何よりもド級の貴重度で知られる録音なのですが、サウンド面だけでも十二分に名作級の銘品なのです。
そしてそして、そのサウンドで描かれるショウ……これがもう、凄い！ 凄すぎる!! 歴史上１回こっきりとなる「Mad Dog」の究極レア度に目眩がしますが、実はそれだけでもない。ここで唯一無二のフルセットを整理しておきましょう。
