以上、全９公演。東名阪＋静岡の名会場を巡りつつ、半分以上が日本武道館という特異なスケジュールでもありました。その中で本作が記録されたのは２公演目にあたるコンサートでした。サウンドボード・アルバム『JAPAN TOUR 1986』は録音日が不明だったのですが、有名なTV放送とも本作とも『BUDOKAN 1986 4TH NIGHT』とも内容が異なっている。本作とは直接関係ありませんが、また一歩、本当の録音日に向かって可能性が絞られたわけです。
ともあれ「武道館２日目」を真空パックした本作は、とんでもない極上サウンド。サウンドボードと間違えるようなド密着感ではないのですが、その芯は凛として力強く、レーザー光線のようにシャープでありつつも鋭く耳に突き刺さりはしない。そして、クリスタル・クリアな空気感。拍手や歓声もリアルに吸い込みつつも透き通っているためにディテールをまったく隠さない。むしろ、このホール鳴りのお陰でシャープ感が増していると言ってもいい。ギターやシンセにはキラキラとした輝きを与え、ビートにはダイナミズム、シンディのヴォーカルには天を舞う伸びと高揚感が宿っているのです。
また、ナチュラル感もポイント。前述した『JAPAN TOUR 1986』はサウンドボードとは言ってもアンビエント・マイクとミックスしたような不思議サウンドだったのですが、本作は100＆混じりっ気なしの純粋オーディエンス。そのため、すべてのノートが均整の美を湛え、音楽に導かれて表情が変わっていく現場ムードとも完全シンクロ。生演奏と熱狂が互いに化学変化を起こしていく現場のド真ん中に立ち会っている感が素晴らしいのです。
それだけの名録音になり得たのにも、実は理由がある。実は、本作をモノにしたのは日本のオーディエンス録音史でも伝説的な名手。80年代を中心にエリック・クラプトンやジェフ・ベック、ミック・ジャガー、ストーンズポール・マッカートニー等々、数々の歴史的な超名録音を大量に残した名録音家なのです。そして日本武道館こそ、その達人の十八番となる会場。その録音技が遺憾なく発揮されているのです（この人物には謎も多く、マイク・ミラードのようにコレクション整理はされてはいませんが、本作はDIOの武道館名作『DRAGON HEAD（Shades 230）』の翌週だったようです）。
そんな匠の妙技サウンドで描かれるのは、人気絶頂のフルショウ。実は、この日はTV放送プロショットや『JAPAN TOUR 1986』よりも長尺でもありました。ここでは両者と比較しながらセットを整理しておきましょう。

また、そんなセット以外だけでなくショウの隅々から日本公演を愉しんでいるシンディの余裕も感じられる。饒舌に話しまくるMCもその１つ。上機嫌に語りかけ、「ゲンキ？」「オシボリネ」「スシ」「オヤスミナサイ」「ジャーネ」「問題ダ！」「アナタ、カワイイネ」等々、覚えたての日本語も次々と披露している。本作は、そのひと言ひと言までクッキリ綺麗に聴き取れるほど音が良く、「本当に２日目？ ２ヶ月くらい日本にいるじゃない？」と思ってしまうほどノリまくっている歌声も機微まで楽しめるのです。
