It was released by the team “DoD”, which has released the first sound source of ZEP in a row in recent years. Digitization from the master reel. The freshness is good in stereo recording, but the sound image balance is extreme, and the sound seems to be extremely panned to the left and right, and it is not unusual for the sound source at that time to separate this much. Also, the vocals are far away, and the performance is rough like a heavy instrument from beginning to end, but it is a terrible performance anyway, so it is said that this can be heard unexpectedly.

When making a CD, the volume that was low in the original sound source and the band of the part where the sound is communicated after the tape change at the beginning of “Traintime” at the end are adjusted appropriately so as not to overdo it, and “Sunshine All the minute digital noises such as “Pip Pip …” that occurred frequently from the beginning of “Of Your Love” to around 2:30 have been removed pinpointly, and the ease of listening is definitely increased compared to the original sound source. We are doing it.

In addition, this time, considering the extreme stereo balance of the original sound source, the first piece is a remaster with the original balance, but the second piece is a remix remaster version with the stereo balance centered in the monaural direction. Is also recorded. In this second part, the extreme sound image is centered, so the whole picture of the performance, which was originally too close to the stage and was too separated and difficult to grasp, is constant, although it looks like a dango. It is a mechanism that allows you to enjoy the feeling of watching a performance (full of roughness) from a bird’s-eye view while keeping a distance (although it is just an image). Of course, it is not an easy complete monaural, but it is stereo, so it is a bonus disc that makes it easy to capture the whole picture with the performance at the center, and you can enjoy it in stereo. It may be interesting to compare the difference between the first original mix remaster and the second remix remaster.

’68年前半の北米ツアーより3月30日ダラス公演をステレオAud収録！話題の初登場音源！
クリームですと10月25日のダラスが定番ですが、こちらは春のダラス公演。初音源となります。
近年ZEPの渋い初音源を連発公開しているチーム「DoD」により公開されたもの。マスターリールからのデジタル化。ステレオ録音で鮮度は良いですが、音像バランスが極端で、左右に極端にパンニングしたようなサウンドで、これだけ分離してるのも当時の音源では珍しいのではないでしょうか。またボーカルが遠く、終始ヘヴィー・インストのような荒々しい演奏状態なのですが、とにかく凄まじい演奏なので、これが意外と聴けてしまうという。

CD化に際しては、元音源で小さかった音量や、終盤「Traintime」の出だしのテープチェンジ以降で音がコモる箇所の帯域などの調整が、やり過ぎない程度に適切になされているほか、「Sunshine Of Your Love」出だしから2:30付近までで頻発していた「ピッピッ・・」というような微少なデジタルノイズがピンポイントで全て除去されており、元音源と比べると聴きやすさは確実に増しております。

なお、今回は元音源の極端なステレオ・バランスを考慮し、1枚目はオリジナル・バランスでのリマスターですが、2枚目にステレオ・バランスをモノラル方向にセンター寄せしたリミックス・リマスター・バージョンも収録しております。この2枚目の部分は、極端な音像がセンター寄せされたことで、元々ステージに近すぎたために分離しすぎて把握しづらかった演奏の全体像が、ダンゴっぽくはなりつつも、一定の距離を保って俯瞰で(荒々しさ満点の)演奏を鑑賞しているような感じが味わえる仕組みになっております(あくまでイメージですが)。当然、安易な完全モノラルにはなっていませんで、あくまでステレオですので、演奏が中心にまとまったぶん全体像が捉えやすく、かつそれをステレオで堪能できるボーナスディスクとなっております。オリジナル・ミックス・リマスターの1枚目とリミックス・リマスターの2枚目の違いを比べてみるのも面白いかもしれません。
