Among Bob Dylan’s visit to Japan this time, it was the second day in Tokyo that attracted attention not only from Japan but also from all over the world, and there would have been many maniacs who were waiting for the release of this day. .
In recent years, Dylan has toured with a fixed set list even before the corona crisis began, and the current situation is that even a slight change in the repertoire at the beginning of last year’s tour will cause a big fuss.
However, this time Dylan performed a cover of the Grateful Dead that he had never performed before on his second day in Tokyo, so it was a big deal.

That was “Truckin’”. It is said that the famous song that decorated the finale of Dead’s masterpiece “AMERICAN BEAUTY” was suddenly performed here in Tokyo.
Luckily, I was able to be there while writing this piece of crap, and I thought that the light-hearted “That Old Black Magic” would normally start, but from the sound out before the performance started. And there was an atmosphere of trying to do a song that was clearly different from usual.
The impact of the unexpected “Truckin’” that started there is too great. It’s almost as if the new song before the release was shown, lol.
In addition, the performance was so perfect that it was hard to believe that it was the first performance, and it became a topic that bassist Tony Garnier involuntarily gave a fist pump after finishing it.

This historical moment was captured by the same overseas artists as “OSAKA 2023”, which will be released at the same time. It seems that it is promised that it is high sound quality, but in fact the quality is superb.
A level that is not strange even if it is released on a press CD anymore. Especially Dylan’s singing voice is close, and it is a bliss to hear the scene of “Truckin ‘” first show that made the world surprised with this quality.
In addition, because it was a recording of an overseas group who knows the dead and “Truckin'” well, I was surprised when Dylan started singing the same song, and as the performance progressed, “It’s really Truckin’!” It’s fun to capture the sense of presence of joy that you want to say with a balance without sarcasm.

Although it is a day that tends to attract attention to the first performance of “Truckin'”, which had too much impact, Dylan did not blow the harmonica in the finale “Every Grain of Sand” following the day before, and finished devoting himself to the piano. The points are also surprisingly rare.
Moreover, after the harmonica blowing recovery from the silly mistake on the last day of Osaka, I wonder if this scene looks even more interesting.
In addition, not only “Truckin’” but also Dylan throughout the live is in great shape, and that margin probably led to the surprising dead cover debut.
An undisputed audience document that captures the second day in Tokyo of the first show of “Truckin’”, which surprised maniacs all over the world and was picked up by the media all over the world, with superb sound quality. Again, that “Truckin’” day that everyone wanted to hear!
