An upgrade master has been discovered on the masterpiece soundboard co-starring Ronnie James Dio / Bill Ward! It will be released as a press 2CD that permanently preserves the natural feeling of the original sound!!
The identity of this work is the complete stereo soundboard collection by the five people who created the historical masterpiece “HEAVEN AND HELL”. It is the highest peak update board. As you may know if you have noticed this article, there was a change of Bill Ward → Vinnie Appice in the middle of the “HEAVEN AND HELL Tour”, and most of the sound boards, including the performance in Japan, were after Vinnie. Under such circumstances, this work completely covers the sound board before leaving the building. It’s also a good opportunity, so let’s classify the soundboard collection of “HEAVEN AND HELL Tour” by Bill / Vinnie.

This is the “HEAVEN AND HELL Tour” soundboard collection. There are three types of soundboards left in the building era, both large and small, and this work contains all of them with the best quality.

[Main: Shock upgrade master of full version SBD] The main part of this work is the stereo sound board recording of “Hartford performance on August 10, 1980”. It is a sound source that has long been known for FM broadcasting and official deluxe editions, but they are incomplete versions of only a few songs. This work is a complete sound board that completely recorded the show. The complete version of the sound board also had a previous release such as “CHILDREN OF BLACK” and “DEFINITIVE HARTFORD 1980”, but this work is different. It is the first upgraded master on CD!
“The quality is truly shocking.” Although it is prepared by detailed mastering of “GRAF ZEPPELIN”, the freshness of the master itself is even greater. In terms of genera, the already-released master was also the original source, but when it was excavated, it was distorted by digital compression, and it came out with a squeaky feeling that is common in mp3 and the like. However, this new master does not have that. All kinds of notes have been reborn, but cymbals are especially easy to understand. The reverberation of the already-released group was distorted with Schwashwa and Shawashwa, but this work stretches beautifully and straight. The AI revolution is being treated like magic these days, but no niche technology has (yet) been developed to restore compressed sound sources. This work is not such a creation, but a “true master sound”.

[Bonus: 2 short SBDs dating back to analog] Following the Hartford Park full soundboard are two short soundboards. One is an unknown date sound board (5 songs + α) discovered from the cassette tape owned by the late Cozy Powell, and the other is “Children Of The Sea” of “May 8, 1980 Hammersmith Park”.
“First, the former.” Although it is a familiar Cozy Tape of our shop, this is also the highest peak update with emphasis on natural feeling when upgrading the Hartford sound source this time. It returns to the original transfer instead of the already released remaster, and is reorganized with detailed mastering of “GRAF ZEPPELIN”. The resolution is higher than the conventional version, and you can hear Ronnie’s own clapping, which was not picked up in the previous release. We pursued perfection as a music work on the premise that you will listen to it continuously from the main Hartford sound source.
And the last Hammersmith performance “Children Of The Sea” is the same. As is familiar with the official deluxe edition, this work is produced from the original transfer of the analog single “Neon Knights”. It has a higher resolution than the official version, but it is the best version that has more sound pressure and does not feel like a jerk, and is permanently preserved.

Five heroes who created the historical masterpiece “HEAVEN AND HELL”: Ronnie James Dio, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, Jeff Nichols, and Bill Ward. It is a super-decision board that completes the live performance sound board by these five people. A press 2CD that permanently preserves the “true legendary master sound” that is far more natural than the already released “DEFINITIVE HARTFORD 1980” with the same concept. Please enjoy it anytime and forever.

★Complete stereo soundboards co-starring Ronnie James Dio and Bill Ward. The main “August 10, 1980 Hartford Performance” soundboard is also a newly discovered upgrade master that does not have the digital compression feeling like the conventional board, and the bonus “Cozy Tape SBD” and single B-side “Children Of The Sea” are also traced back to the original master and “GRAF ZEPPELIN” is finely mastered. ★ The main Hartford performance was mastered from the latest master, and it is definitely an upgraded master that does not have the digital smell of the previous edition at the time of the original material.

★Disc2’s “Cozy Tape” part is also remastered from the original master.

★There may not be much of a difference when you first listen to it, but in terms of the waveform, it’s symmetrical with respect to the central axis, and if you compare it to the previous version, the difference is obvious.

In addition, some of the sounds that were deleted in the previous edition, such as the applause (?) by the members immediately after playing “Neon Knights”, have been revived, and the sound pressure feeling has increased, but the voices engraved in the original sound are faithfully reproduced.

これが“HEAVEN AND HELL Tour”のサウンドボード・コレクション。ビル時代には大小合わせて３種のサウンドボードが残されており、本作はそのすべてをベスト・クオリティで収録しているわけです。

【メイン：完全版SBDの衝撃アップグレード・マスター】
そんな本作のメインとなるのは「1980年８月10日ハートフォード公演」のステレオ・サウンドボード録音。古くからFM放送や公式デラックス・エディションでも知られる音源ですが、それらは数曲だけの不完全版。本作はショウを完全収録したコンプリート・サウンドボードです。その完全版サウンドボードも『CHILDREN OF BLACK』『DEFINITIVE HARTFORD 1980』等の既発がありましたが、本作はそれとも異なる。初CD化されたアップグレード・マスターなのです！
そのクオリティは、まさに衝撃。「GRAF ZEPPELIN」の細密マスタリングで整えられてもいますが、それ以上に大きいのはマスターそのものの鮮度。ジェネ的には既発マスターも大元だったのですが、発掘される際にデジタル圧縮で歪み、mp3等にありがちなシュワシュワ感で出ていました。ところが、今回の新マスターはそれがない。ありとあらゆるノートが生まれ変わっているのですが、特に分かりやすいのはシンバル類でしょう。既発群は残響がシュワシュワ・シャワシャワと歪んでいましたが、本作は綺麗に真っ直ぐ伸びるのです。現代はAI革命が魔法のように扱われていますが、圧縮音源を元も戻すようなニッチ技術は（まだ）開発されていない。本作はそうした作り物ではなく、「真なるマスターサウンド」なのです。

【ボーナス：アナログまで遡った短尺SBD２種】
そんなハートフォード公園フル・サウンドボードに続くのは、２種の短尺サウンドボード。１つは故コージー・パウエル所蔵のカセットテープから発見された日付不明のサウンドボード（５曲＋α）で、もう１つは「1980年５月8日ハマースミス公園」の「Children Of The Sea」です。
まず、前者。当店お馴染みのコージー・テープではありますが、今回のハートフォード音源のアップグレードに際してこちらもナチュラル感重視で最高峰更新。既発のリマスターではなく大元トランスファーに立ち返り、「GRAF ZEPPELIN」の細密マスタリングで整え直しています。従来盤よりも解像度が高く、既発では拾いきれていなかったロニー自身の手拍子までしっかり聞こえる。本編ハートフォード音源から連続で聴く事を前提として、音楽作品としての完成度を追求しました。
そして、最後のハマースミス公演「Children Of The Sea」も同様。公式デラックス・エディションでもお馴染みではありますが、本作ではアナログ・シングル『Neon Knights』の独自トランスファーから製作。公式版よりも解像度が高く、それでいて音圧稼ぎでパッツン感もないベスト・バージョンで永久保存しています。

★Disc2の”Cozy Tape”パートも元マスターに立ち返りリマスター｡

★一聴する分にはあまり違いはないかも知れませんが､波形的には中心軸に対し線対称の綺麗な波形で､前回盤と見比べれば違いは歴然｡

また”Neon Knights”演奏直後のメンバーによる拍手(？)など､所々前回盤で削除されてしまった音声も復活し､より音圧感は増しつつも､原音に刻まれた音声は忠実に再現｡
