The Beatles 1966 American compilation “YESTERDAY AND TODAY”, familiar from the legendary banned artwork “Butcher Cover”. In 2014, it was made into a CD with a paper jacket that reduced the jacket firmly in “US BOX”, but the contents are a misappropriation of the 2009 remaster.
Even if you are not a maniac, if you are an American edited version of The Beatles, it is natural that you want to listen to the original sound source that recorded the original mix heard there. Especially if it becomes a butcher.
Therefore, we prepared a super convenient item that combines “YESTERDAY AND TODAY” monaural and stereo into one piece.
The original version was the version of Remasters Workshop, which is truly RMW. I didn’t cheat the sound source with the current CD sound source, and both versions traced from the original analog firmly.

The amazing thing is the clear finish. For example, the monaural “Dr. Robert” is well known as a unique mix in which John’s “OK herb” voice is faintly heard at the end of the performance, but even if you turn up the volume to hear the scene, the needle I’m surprised because it doesn’t contain a single sound.
Even here alone, you will be keenly aware of how carefully RMW traced the LP. Of course, the nostalgic Dr. Ebbetts released this album because it is one of the most popular American edited albums, but RMW is not defeated by its clean finish.
Thanks to this, the difference in “I’m Only Sleeping”, which has a different mix from the UK version for monaural and stereo, can be easily heard and compared, which is extremely convenient. I would like you to enjoy this place by increasing the volume from the speakers.
The official paper jacket release was also made into a CD of the edited version of Capitol that discouraged enthusiasts from all over the world due to the lack of content. On the other hand, vintage analog at that time, especially the American version, is a difficult task to see items in clean conditions, so both monaural and stereo “YESTERDAY AND TODAY” can be easily recorded on CD. A piece that literally comes in handy that you can enjoy it.
Of course, the jacket is a butcher cover, so it’s also convenient to easily enjoy that legendary banned jacket. This is an easy butcher!

あの伝説の発禁アートワーク「ブッチャー・カバー」でおなじみビートルズ1966年のアメリカ編集盤「YESTERDAY AND TODAY」。2014年には「US BOX」にてしっかりそのジャケを縮小してくれた紙ジャケ込みでCD化が実現したものの、何と中身は2009年リマスターの流用という見掛け倒し。
マニアでなくともビートルズのアメリカ編集版なら、そこで聞かれた独自のミックスを収録した本来の音源にて聞きたいと思うのは当然のこと。それがブッチャーともなればなおさら。
そこで今回用意しましたのは「YESTERDAY AND TODAY」モノラルとステレオを一枚にカップリングしたという超便利なアイテム。
元になったのはかのRemasters Workshopのバージョンで、さすがはRMW。音源を現行のCD音源でごまかすようなことはなく、どちらのバージョンもしっかりオリジナルのアナログからトレースしてくれました。

驚くべきはそのクリアーな仕上がり。例えばモノラルの「Dr. Robert」は演奏が終わったところでジョンの「OK herb」という声がかすかに聞こえるという独自のミックスとして良く知られていますが、その場面を聞こうとボリュームを上げても針音一つ入っていないのだから驚き。
ここだけでもRMWがいかに丹念にLPをトレースしてくれたか痛感させられるでしょう。数多いアメリカ編集版アルバムの中でも高い人気を誇る一枚であることから、懐かしのDr. Ebbettsも当然本アルバムをリリースしていましたが、そのクリーンな仕上がりはRMWも負けていません。
おかげでモノラルとステレオそれぞれでUKのバージョンとはミックスが違う「I’m Only Sleeping」の違いも簡単に聞き比べられるのだから便利なことこの上ない。ここは是非スピーカーからボリュームをアップして楽しんでいただきたい。
せっかくのオフィシャル紙ジャケ・リリースも内容の手抜きぶりから世界中のマニアを落胆させたキャピトル編集版のCD化。その反面、当時のビンテージ・アナログ、特にアメリカ盤はクリーンなコンディションのアイテムを見るけるのが至難の業であることから、これ一枚でモノラルとステレオ両方の「YESTERDAY AND TODAY」がCDにて手軽に楽しめてしまうという、文字通り重宝する一枚。
もちろんジャケはブッチャー・カバーですので、あの伝説の発禁ジャケを手軽に楽しめるのがまた便利。これぞお手軽ブッチャー！
