Toys In The Attic/Walk This Way/Sweet Emotion(2テイク)
Back In The Saddle(★)/Dream On/Kings And Queens(★)/Last Child(★)/Train Kept A Rollin’(★)

Love In An Elevator/What It Takes/The Other Side/Janie’s Got A Gun
Eat The Rich/Livin’ On The Edge(2テイク)/Fever/Cryin’/Boogie Man/Shut Up And Dance(*)/Walk On Down(*)
Dude (Looks Like A Lady)/Rag Doll/Stop Messin’ Around(★)/Oh Well(★)

意外な復活曲「Kings And Queens」やFLEETWOOD MACの「Stop Messin’ Around」「Oh Well」を披露しています。

In 1993, AEROSMITH finally reached the top of the scene, sending “GET A GRIP” to No. 1 in the United States for the first time. A soundboard album that seals such a glorious full show is now available.
This work was recorded at “Mansfield performance on August 27, 1993”. This is a stereo soundboard recording. Speaking of “GET A GRIP Tour” soundboards, our shop is also familiar with the press masterpieces “TAMPA 1994 STEREO SOUNDBOARD MASTER (Zodiac 361)” and “BOSTON 1994: PRE-FM DAT MASTER (Zodiac 347).” First of all, let’s take a look at the positional relationship of each of them from the panoramic view of the huge world tour that was the biggest of their career.

This is AEROSMITH in 1993/1994. It was a big tour around the world for about a year and a half and a total of 240 performances. In addition to “TAMPA 1994” and “BOSTON 1994,” there were also professional shots such as “RIO DE JANEIRO 1994,” but those were the 1994 edition of the second half of the tour. On the other hand, the Mansfield performance of this work was the 48th concert of the early “North America #1” which was also the main leg.
This work that conveys such a show is a truly splendid FM sound board. Although it is a mix with a high sound pressure that is typical of FM broadcasting in the 90s, the freshness of the master is exceptional. It has been digitized directly from the Air Check Master at the time, and there are no dubbing marks such as twists or distortions. It’s as vivid as if you had jumped 30 years in time and received the broadcast radio waves directly from that time.
What’s more, this work is a top-of-the-line updated edition that further improves the original sound of the internet. However, the sound quality itself is already good, so there is no room for major changes, and we are continuing to refine it to improve the quality. For example, the feel of the sound changed between the beginning and the end, so we equalized it and alleviated the momentary sound drop that occurred in “Stop Messin’ Around.” We sought to improve the sense of stability and achieve perfection as a musical product.
What is depicted with such a peak sound is a full show that is different from the press masterpieces. “BOSTON 1994” is a special performance mainly featuring revival classics, so it is natural that it is different, but it is also a set that is similar to “TAMPA 1994”, which was a regular performance on the tour. Let’s compare it with the latter here.

●Classics (8 songs)
・Dark night heavy rock: Toys In The Attic/Walk This Way/Sweet Emotion (2 takes)
・Others: Back In The Saddle (★) / Dream On / Kings And Queens (★) / Last Child (★) / Train Kept A Rollin’ (★)

●Geffen era (15 songs)
・Pump: Love In An Elevator/What It Takes/The Other Side/Janie’s Got A Gun
・Get a Grip: Eat The Rich/Livin’ On The Edge (2 takes)/Fever/Cryin’/Boogie Man/Shut Up And Dance (*)/Walk On Down (*)
・Others: Dude (Looks Like A Lady) / Rag Doll / Stop Messin’ Around (★) / Oh Well (★)
*Note: Songs marked with “★” were not heard on the press masterpiece “TAMPA 1994 STEREO SOUNDBOARD MASTER”. Songs marked with an asterisk (*) are exclusive to this tour.

…and it looks like this. This work includes a bonus broadcast sound source of “July 1, 1993 Cleveland Performance” after the Mansfield performance soundboard. The “2 takes” attached to “Sweet Emotion” and “Livin’ On The Edge” refers to this bonus track. The hit songs from the Geffen era are very similar to “TAMPA 1994,” but what has changed is classics and covers. They are performing the unexpected comeback song “Kings And Queens” and FLEETWOOD MAC’s “Stop Messin’ Around” and “Oh Well.”
The very climax. “PERMANENT VACATION” and “PUMP” were also big hits, and their next album “NINE LIVES” also reached No. 1 in the US. However, speaking of the peak of peaks, the “GET A GRIP” era was the final one. What this work is packed with is the golden wind that the glory of such climax has just begun. A full show from AEROSMITH, the champion who didn’t flinch even when grunge/alternative music became popular. Please enjoy the FM sound that brings back those days to the fullest.

★Stereo soundboard recording of “August 27, 1993 Mansfield Performance”.
