遂に始まったフェアウェル・ツアー“PEACE OUT”。その初日公演をフル体験できる映像作品が到着です。
そんな本作が撮影されたのは「2023年９月２日フィラデルフィア公演」。その絶景オーディエンス・ショットです。昨年秋に実施されたコンサート・レジデンシー“DEUCES ARE WILD”以来のライヴとなるわけですが、その間にジョー・ペリーはTHE JOE PERRY PROJECTやHOLLYWOOD VAMPIRESでの活動も挟んでいました。今回は“PEACE OUT”の第一報でもありますので、そんな彼らの近況を活動スケジュールで俯瞰してみましょう。

これが現在までに公表されている2023年／2024年のスケジュール。「＊」印がAEROSMITHの“PEACE OUT”で、来年１月まで続く予定です。昨年の“DEUCES ARE WILD”に続いて今回もジョーイ・クレイマーは不参加で、ドラムテックであるジョン・ダグラスが代役を務めています。本作のフィラデルフィア公演は、そんなフェアウェル・ツアー初日にあたるコンサートでした。
全世界の注目を集めた初日で撮影された本作は、まさに「絶景」を画に描いた極上映像。今回は360度ステージのために「ポジションは○○」と表現できないのですが、ポイントは視点の高さ。恐らくは角度の急なスタンド席なのでしょう。ステージ上のメンバー達と同じ目線の高さでありつつ、前方席の影などの遮蔽物が一切視界に入ってこないのです。
もちろん、スタンド席となると現場ではそれなりに距離もあるのでしょうが、それをまったく感じさせないのが最新機材による強力なズーム機能。とにかく撮影ポジションが分からないので何倍なのか判別できませんが、スティーヴン・タイラーの上半身が画面いっぱいになるほど迫っても超美麗。見どころを丁寧に追っていくカメラワークとも合わせ、まるでプロショットの１アングルかのように見やすさとド迫力を両立しているのです。
また、そんな本作は秘宝でもある。実はライヴ本番の直後にネット公開されたのですが、すぐさま削除。曲単位では流通しているようですが、フルバージョンは観られないのです。
そんな映像美で描かれるのは、栄光の歴史を濃縮したフルショウ。どのバンドでも言える事ですが、フェアウェル・ツアーのセットリストはキャリアの総括。メンバー自身が半生を振り返り、「これが俺たち」という意志をカタチにしてくれるもの。ここで、そんな意味深い本作のセットを整理しておきましょう。

『野獣生誕』のデビューから50年、遂に最後のツアーが始まってしまいました。本作は、全世界が固唾を飲んで待っていたフルショウを特等席から見つめられる映像作品です。泣いても笑っても後４ヶ月半。どうぞ、本作でその第一歩をご体験ください。

The farewell tour “PEACE OUT” has finally begun. A video work that allows you to fully experience the opening day performance has arrived.
This work was filmed at the “Philadelphia performance on September 2, 2023.” This is the spectacular audience shot. This will be his first live performance since the concert residency “DEUCES ARE WILD” held last fall, but during that time Joe Perry also worked with THE JOE PERRY PROJECT and HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES. This is the schedule for 2023/2024 that has been announced so far. The “*” mark is AEROSMITH’s “PEACE OUT” and it is scheduled to last until January next year. Following last year’s “DEUCES ARE WILD”, Joey Kramer will not be participating this time as well, and drum tech John Douglas will be taking his place. The Philadelphia performance of this work was a concert on the first day of such a farewell tour.
This film, which was shot on the first day and attracted attention from all over the world, is a superb video that truly depicts a “superb view”. Since this time it’s a 360 degree stage, I can’t express the position as ○○, but the key point is the height of the viewpoint. It’s probably the stand seats with a steep angle. Although you are at the same eye level as the members on stage, there are no shadows or other obstructions from the seats in front of you.
Of course, there is probably some distance between seats in the stands, but the powerful zoom function of the latest equipment makes it impossible to feel that at all. Anyway, I don’t know the shooting position, so I can’t tell how many times it is, but even though Steven Tyler’s upper body is so close that it fills the screen, it is still super beautiful. Combined with the camera work that carefully follows the highlights, it is both easy to see and powerful, just like a professional shot angle.
Also, this work is a hidden treasure. In fact, it was posted online right after the live performance, but it was immediately deleted. It seems that each song is being distributed, but the full version is not available.
What is depicted with such visual beauty is a full show that concentrates the glorious history. As with any band, the farewell tour’s set list is a summary of their career. It’s something that allows the members to look back on their lives and give form to their will that “this is us.” Here, let’s organize the set of this meaningful work.

50 years after the debut of “Birth of the Beast”, the final tour has finally begun. This work is a video work that allows you to watch the full show that the whole world has been waiting for with bated breath from a special seat. No matter how much I cry or laugh, there are still four and a half months left. Please experience the first step with this work.
