Our KISS related outflow series where the highest peak update master continues to shake collectors around the world. The rehearsal video of the 70’s, which is the latest bullet, is now available.
Recorded in this work are three types of rehearsals held in 1976, “DESTROYER Tour Rehearsal”, “TV Program D.K.R.C. Rehearsal” and “ROCK & ROLL OVER Tour Rehearsal”. Each is a staff shot taken with a monochrome one camera. These images have been known in fragments for a long time, but they expanded at once in the summer of last year (2022). It used to be about 40 minutes, but a long master of nearly 2 hours was discovered, and it was very popular as “LIVE REHEARSAL 1976 (Shades 1569)” at our shop. This work is also a long master with almost the same length, but it is an upgraded master with improved quality.
“Upgrade” comes in a variety of patterns, but in the case of this work, it’s “lossless.” In terms of the analog stage, this work and the Shades version released last year are the same gene, but they are completely different in the digital stage. Last year’s version was circulated in a digitally compressed state, but this work brought from the stakeholder route was a lossless master.
“Actually, the difference is clear.” It’s hard to understand when capturing a still image, but when you play it back, the movement is extremely smooth. While the pin at the time of shooting is the same, the screen packed with pixels boasts the density of the analog master itself, and there is no feeling of dropping frames. Block noise is even more decisive. Last year, the master saw some blocks in fast movements and detailed parts, but this work is beautiful to every corner of the screen, and it is as glossy as if it were playing the original master as it is.
The rich beauty of the images captures the precious behind-the-scenes moments of the Golden Age. First of all, when did the three types of rehearsals take place? Let’s check the schedule from that time.

・November 24-December 30: North America #4 (22 performances)
This is KISS in 1976. The “・” mark is a regular concert, and the “*” mark is a rehearsal. We often rehearse between tours, but this work is June (1 type) during the “DESTROYER Tour” and November (2 types?) Just before the start of the “ROCK & ROLL OVER Tour”. Recorded. I’m sorry for suddenly adding a “?”, but let’s introduce them individually together with the reason.
[June 27: “DESTROYER Tour” rehearsal (about 20 minutes)] The first thing that appears is the dress rehearsal that took place on “June 27, 1976”. However, there are various theories about the date, and depending on the material, there is also the theory of “June 8th to 12th” and the theory of “June 20th”. The two-story stage set is also well put together, and the members are also wearing their stage costumes. The Pyro is also intensely intense, and a big performance just like the real thing is unfolding. It is a rehearsal just before the actual performance, and from the video point of view, the “June 27th” theory, which is the closest to “North America # 3”, seems to be the most convincing.Aside from such a mystery, the atmosphere of the precious rehearsal and the spirited live performance are wonderful. The conventional master had only three songs (about 10 minutes) at the beginning, but now it has doubled. You can enjoy 5 songs including Gene’s bass solo approaching with a do-up.
●Detroit Rock City (★)/King Of The Night Time World (★)/Let Me Go, Rock ‘N Roll (★)/God Of Thunder/Flaming Youth
* Note: “★” marks are traditionally known takes. [“D.K.R.C.” rehearsal (about 16 minutes)] The second was a rehearsal for the TV program “DON KIRSHNER’S ROCK CONCERT”. The broadcast was in May 1977 after the “ROCK & ROLL OVER Tour”, but the recording was in 1976. All of these videos first appeared in the master last year, and although this is also a black-and-white one-camera, the members are wearing no makeup and casual clothes (or rather, half-naked). I repeat to check the 3 new songs of “ROCK & ROLL OVER”.
The angle and atmosphere of this video is similar to the rehearsal of the “ROCK & ROLL OVER Tour” below, so when it was discovered last year, it was considered part of the same video. According to some materials, although it is recorded as “November 1976”, the date has not been confirmed, and there is also the possibility of a “New York Rehearsal” different from the one below.
●Love ‘Em And Leave ‘Em (2 takes) / Hard Luck Woman (2 takes) / I Want You [November: “ROCK & ROLL OVER Tour” rehearsal (about 80 minutes)] The last thing to appear is the rehearsal for the “ROCK & ROLL OVER Tour”. It used to be called “New York Rehearsal”, but apparently it’s like “Reading Rehearsal” a few days later. The rehearsal took place at the US Army’s “Camp Curtis Guild” for seven days, and no date has been set.
As with the “D.K.R.C.” rehearsal above, they wore casual clothes without make-up. It used to be about 5 songs (about 30 minutes), but it was expanded to about 80 minutes. The content is divided into two parts, and in the beginning, the new songs “I Want You”, “Makin ‘Love” and “Beth” are repeatedly confirmed as in the “D.K.R.C.” rehearsal. Especially in the last “Beth” Peter sings with Doup. I can’t get enough of the precious feeling like a private shot.
Then, in the second half of the rehearsal, they went into serious mode. Playing 15 songs at once just like the actual performance, it is a rehearsal through each person’s solo. What has been known in the past was the last 30 minutes of this through rehearsal, but this time you can fully enjoy it from the pole position “Detroit Rock City”.
●Practice each song (20 minutes)
・ I Want You (3 takes) / Makin ‘Love (2 takes) / Beth (2 takes)
●Street rehearsal (60 minutes)
・Detroit Rock City/Take Me/Let Me Go, Rock ‘N Roll/Strutter/Love ‘Em And Leave ‘Em/Firehouse/I Want You/Hard Luck Woman/Do You Love Me/Cold Gin (★)/God Of Thunder (★) / Rock And Roll All Nite (★) / Deuce (★) / Black Diamond (★)
* Note: “★” marks are traditionally known takes.
This is a treasured video of 1 hour and 56 minutes. Last year’s Shades board “LIVE REHEARSAL 1976” was also shocked by its preciousness, but this work is the original master of the stakeholder. It is a definitive edition that allows you to witness the behind-the-scenes of the precious heyday with remarkably glossy lossless visual beauty. A treasure video that is nothing but a cultural heritage. Please fully experience it with a press DVD that preserves its brilliance forever.
★1976 tour and rehearsal video collection. Staff shots taken with a black and white camera, 1 hour 56 minutes long version. In terms of content, it is the same as the Shades version “LIVE REHEARSAL 1976” but upgraded with a lossless master outflow of stakeholders. You will be able to witness behind-the-scenes behind-the-scenes footage of the band’s heyday, such as tour rehearsals and practice scenes for the famous program “D.K.R.C.”
