IMPELLITTERI in 1996, who released masterpieces such as “VICTIM OF THE SYSTEM”, “ANSWER TO THE MASTER”, and “SCREAMING SYMPHONY”, and was the standard bearer of neoclassical metal next to Yngwie. An original recording that allows you to fully experience the precious live in Japan is now available.
The performance of “November 13, 1996: Sapporo Factory Hall” is imbued in this work. It is an excellent audience recording that captures the whole story. First of all, the position of the show. Let’s look back on the schedule at that time.
・November 13: Sapporo Factory Hall ← This work
・November 14: Namba W’OHOL
・ November 16: Nagoya Bottom Line
・November 17: LIQUIDROOM (Shinjuku)
・November 18: LIQUIDROOM (Shinjuku)
A total of 5 performances. In addition to the standard Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka, it was also held in Sapporo, but in fact, all three visits to Japan in the 1990s (1995/1996/1998) realized the Sapporo performance. Surprisingly (?), IMPELLITTERI seems to have been a popular locality.
In any case, the sound of this work, which is a vacuum-packed version of such a show, is also wonderful. In terms of timbre, there is something like an audience recording, but the core that penetrates the middle of the clear atmosphere is powerful anyway. It cuts sharply like a laser beam, and the details and separation are vivid and reach straight to your hand. Although it is a little different from the zero distance / feeling of close contact, it is also a mysterious sound that is sufficiently satisfying to listen to.
“And it’s hot.” The “Sapporo Factory Hall”, which was the venue, is a venue that is slightly smaller than Club Citta Kawasaki, and you can feel the closed room feeling from the sound. If you write like this, you may imagine the noise covered with enthusiasm, but that is not the case. Rather, during the performance, you can feel the concentration that you will not miss even one grain of the rapid-fire phrase. Boil. Including the performance, you can feel the heat swirling in a narrow space.
What kind of closed room sound is drawn is a full show that shines with a “neocratic style” that is different from Yngwie’s. IMPELLITTERI is a band that is strangely indifferent to live albums, but even so, in the 90’s they released a fan club limited edition “LIVE! FAST! LOUD!”. Let’s organize the set while comparing here.
● Screaming Symphony (6 songs)
・Countdown To The Revolution/Rat Race(★)/For Your Love/Father Forgive Them(★)/I’ll Be With You/Walk Away
● Others (11 songs)
・Answer to the Master: The King Is Rising / Hungry Days (★) / Fly Away (★) / Answer To The Master (★)
・Others: Lost In The Rain/Burning/Stand In Line/Visual Prison/Victim Of The System/Screaming Symphony/Highway Star
*Note: The “★” marks are songs that could not be heard on the fan club board “LIVE! FAST! LOUD!”.
… and it looks like this. Although “LIVE! FAST! LOUD!” The set was also in the middle of the 2 times. On the other hand, this work is a full set of 2 discs only in 1996. You can enjoy a wider range of famous songs. Also, at our store, the masterpiece “KAWASAKI 1995 (Shades 1073)” from the “ANSWER TO THE MASTER Tour” is also popular, but this work has a repertoire of “SCREAMING SYMPHONY” that cannot be heard there, and the masterpiece “Lost In The Rain” from the debut EP. is also shown.
And the performance that spells out such a set is also wonderful! As a matter of fact, the band’s live performances are hard to find outside of Japan, but their performances are unbelievably well done. Perhaps because the Sapporo performance was the first day, Rob’s voice feels a little unstable at the start, but that’s only at the beginning. After “Countdown To The Revolution”, which was breathed by the beautiful Japanese MC of “Thank you for buying the CD”, the vocals are no different from the studio work.
And of course, Chris Impellitteri is Chris Impellitteri. Is this person sick? The more you think, the riff is sharper, and the rapid-fire solo called “the world’s fastest man” is coming.
For some reason, Impellitteri has not released a decent official live album, even though he needs the song god Rob Rock, who is on par with Mark Balls. This work is a new excavation original recording that serves as the “official substitute”. Please experience the ultimate full show that concentrated and reduced the masterpieces up to “SCREAMING SYMPHONY”, which is said to be the best masterpiece!
★Exquisite audience recording of “November 13, 1996 Sapporo Factory Hall” performance. The core that penetrates the middle of the transparent atmosphere is just as powerful as a laser beam, and the details and separation are vivid and reach straight to your hand. Although it seems to be an audience in terms of tone, the listening response is sufficiently sound board grade. You can experience the full show of the prime that concentrated and reduced the masterpiece group up to “SCREAMING SYMPHONY”.
