Alice Cooper, the emperor of shock rock, has drawn madness and nightmares with the visual image of the ever-changing world. Introducing the definitive edition of the video clip collection that gives you a panoramic view of the transition.
This work contains a total of 28 songs and 31 takes clips. From “School’s Out” in 1972 to “It’s The Little Things” in 2000, it is a compilation DVD that collects PV produced in about 30 years with the highest peak master. The greatest umami of this work is the “quality” that makes full use of the existing highest peak master, and the “quantity” that covers various clips, but in addition, the “composition” is also a point. The themes are divided into “DISC 1 = Golden Warner Brothers Era” and “DISC 2 = Metal Line 80’s / 90’s”, and each is designed to function as a “best album to see with the eyes”. Let’s introduce the highlights one by one.
● Two different types of “Department Of Youth”
Alice has been making clips since the days when there was no shadow or shape such as MTV. I’m glad that the clip that you are familiar with in history videos etc. is the full version of the highest quality, but there are also many rare clips that exist themselves. For example, “Department Of Youth”. Magazine collage-style clips are famous, but unlike the short-edited history videos, this one is the full version. In addition, a completely different stage landscape version of the clip is also included. I think it’s a live clip only on the stage, but it’s a rare version where children also appear without an audience.
● Valuable mid-term ballad hit era
And the clips after “Going to Hell”, which you can hardly see, are also delicious. The TV appearance performance is released on the official Youtube channel, but the clip produced with Shioyu Shite-chan for the studio audio is this work. Two more must-see songs from “Lace and Whiskey”. This is the only slightly lower image quality, but it was a valuable clip that I was thankful for seeing before. What’s more, the contents are hard-boiled Alice dressed as a private detective! This is a treasure. Speaking of the visualization of the album world, “the closed world”. It was a concept album based on the experience at a mental hospital, but the clip of “How You Gonna See Me Now” perfectly depicts the world.
● Phantom Italian movie “MONSTER DOG”
Rarity exploded at the end of the game. At that time, Alice stopped touring with “Special Forces” and finally retired from “DADA”. At that time, she appeared in the Italian horror movie “MONSTER DOG”. Actually, it was not released in theaters, and the first release was a genuine minor movie called a rental video in the United States in 1986. Alice decided to appear because she thought, “If it isn’t released in theaters, it’s just right for rehabilitation.” I also provided two songs on the soundtrack, but at that time there was no single release, and it was rare that the box “THE LIFE AND CRIMES OF ALICE COOPER” was made into a record in 1999. Nonetheless, both songs produced excellent clips.
Also, at the end of such DISC 1, another version of “Elected” is also recorded. This was released during the 2020 US presidential election and is a masterpiece clip as if Alice was really campaigning. [DISC 2: Heavy Metal Era (16 songs, 17 types)] It was the rise of heavy metal in the 80’s that brought Alice back into her music scene. Her evil and heavy image and catchy songs fit perfectly with Alice’s qualities. What’s more, the horror movie boom and the big break of MTV overlapped there, and it was exactly “the times sought Alice.” DISC 2 of this work is a great collection of such “Metal Age Alice”.
-The best masterpiece clip that became the signal of the resurrection
First of all, a must-see from the “Be Chrool To Your Scuel” that appears at the beginning! Actually, it was not Alice but a guest participant in the song of TWISTED SISTER, but this was the signal of Alice’s resurrection. AEROSMITH also started the revival with “Walk This Way” co-starring with Run-DMC, and this song is also one of them. The song itself is completely two signboards with Dee Snider, but the appearance is also perfect for Alice as we know it. DISC 1 Looking at it continuously from the last stray, her heart gets hot for the first time in her resurrection. She cannot thank Dee as one of Alice fans.
Moreover, it is a super masterpiece as a clip. At that time, it was a short time after Michael Jackson’s “thriller” revolution, but his hobby was full of devious hobbies, saying “If it’s horror, we’re right”! Alice and Dee smash a large number of zombies, singing and biting into the zombie’s arm, kissing her lips and pushing her food into the throat hole. The ridiculous 80’s feeling is the best rather than gloomy, and it will be the best masterpiece in this work that covers more than 30 kinds.
● MCA era that is pushed by movies and muscular beauty
It became long with only one song, but after that, a series of must-see clips. During the MCA era when he got into the LA metal scene, he also featured collaborations with movies. Especially “He’s Back” is the movie “Friday the 13th PART6 / Jason was alive! ] Is also used in large numbers, and you can see how “Shock Rock and the 80’s” matched. Of course, it is a complete version with a small play part before and after.
“Teenage Frankenstein” also includes two versions, a version that incorporates movie scenes and a live scene version. In the live scene, the muscular guitarist Kane Roberts is strangely cool and has a strong image that is different from any other era. Even in “Freedom”, it is recorded in a version with sound effects that properly destroys gimmicks and gravestones.
-Unexpectedly unknown rare version Epic era full of crowds
From “I Got A Line On You” provided in the movie “Metal Blue”, the Epic era of complete revival. The clips of this era are also summarized in the official DVD “THE ULTIMATE CLIP COLLECTION”, but in fact, another unknown version is delicious. For example, “Poison (Uncensored Version)”. In the normal version, a bondage sister was dancing, but in the “Uncensored Version” recorded in this work, both the boobs and nipples are exposed.
The ultimate is “Only My Heart Talkin'”. Alice is flirting with a female fan and throws her backstage pass away, but at the end a mysterious car appears. Give another pass to the female fan and take her somewhere. This is all in the normal version, but in the version recorded in this work, the license plate of the car is “TYLER”, and the letters “AEROSMITH PUMP” are clearly written on the pass passed. Yes, this song features Steven Tyler’s participation. I didn’t know where to go in the regular version, but in this work I can clearly understand the original joke that “Alice went to AEROSMITH …” (The license plate of the regular version is also “STEVEN”. So there was a remnant).
● The Spitfire era that was approaching horror again
The final piece of this work is the Spitfire era, which was approaching dark and heavy with industrial metal. From the epic era, which had a slightly healthy image, the clip has returned to the horror style of the MCA era. However, in the 1980s, the motif was a slasher movie, but this is a psychological thriller system that reflects the times.
This bonus includes “It’s The Little Things”, but this is an extremely rare clip that was only included in the nostalgic enhanced CD specification “Brutal Planet”. The enhanced CD is treated as a bonus because the image quality is incomparably poor compared to the DVD, but the content is a live clip firmly created from the “BRUTALLY LIVE” video.
The above is a collection of hidden treasures with a total of 31 takes and 2 hours and 2 minutes. After this, Alice, who returned to the straight rock line, stopped making clips, and her video work was exclusively live video. The next clip had to wait until “ALONG CAME A SPIDER” eight years later. It is before that that is recorded in this work. It is the culmination of an era when masterpiece clips were being fired in rapid succession by changing the image.
Each song has the highest quality, and if you watch it continuously, you can enjoy the transition. DISC 1 can be enjoyed as a sequel to the early pro shot collection “THE EARLY VISIONS 1969-1972 (Shades 1260)”, and DISC 2 is a popular but unsummated metal era (perhaps because of walking across record companies). It also functions as a “moving best album” (Alice’s best is only Warner in the 70’s). The true value of shock rock is that you can see it with your eyes. The best definitive clip collection to taste its charm. Please enjoy it to your heart’s content.
★ A compilation DVD of PVs produced in about 30 years, from “School’s Out (1972)” in the band era to “It’s The Little Things (2000)” in the industrial era.
