The album “XPECTATION” was originally scheduled to be produced as “XENOPHOBIA” and later released only in 2003 for limited distribution. The first full-length instrumental album under the name of Prince, with familiar members such as Candy Dulfer, Rhonda Smith and John Blackwell, as well as violinist Vanessa-Mae. With jazzy performances, it became an album that challenged the new frontier music that can be called “New Direction in Music” in the sub credit. In the expanded edition, in addition to the main part of the album that has not been made into a CD, the studio sound source of the same period and live versions such as “XOTICA” and “XENOPHOBIA” are additionally recorded. In addition, CD2 contains a collection of soundboard live performances carefully selected as “One Night Alone Tour 2002 Compilation”. The best compilation that captures the heated performance of this period, including the replacement of saxophonists such as Maceo Parker, Eric Leeds, and Candy Dulfer. Introducing the latest compilation collector’s edition, which is a compilation of studio and live recordings from 2002 to 2003! !!

当初は『XENOPHOBIA』として制作予定され後に２００３年限定配信のみでリリースされたアルバム『XPECTATION』。プリンス名義では初となる全編インストゥルメンタル・アルバムでキャンディ・ダルファー、ロンダ・スミス、ジョン・ブラックウェルといったお馴染みのメンバーに加えヴァイオリニスト、ヴァネッサ・メイが参加。ジャジーな演奏が展開されサブ・クレジットにある”ニュー・ディレクション・イン・・ミュージック～”といえるこれまでにない新境地の音楽に挑んだアルバムとなりました。エクスパンディッド・エディションでは未ＣＤ化のアルバム本編に加え同時期のスタジオ音源や「XOTICA」「XENOPHOBIA」といったライブ・バージョンも追加収録。さらにＣＤ２には”ワン・ナイト・アローン・ツアー２００２・コンピレーション”として厳選されたサウンドボード・ライブをまとめて収録。メシオ・パーカーやエリック・リーズ、キャンディ・ダルファーといったサックス奏者の入れ替わりも含めこの時期の白熱した演奏ぶりをとらえたベスト・コンピレーション。２００２年から２００３年にかけてのスタジオ音源とライブ音源をまとめた注目の最新編集盤コレクターズ・エディションの登場です！！
