Y & T in 1982, who changed the band name and embarked on a global expansion. The ultimate master of the big classic sound board is newly excavated. An urgent release has been decided on the permanent storage press CD!
The engraving on this work is “May 31, 1982 Sittard-Geleen Performance”. It is a stereo sound board recording when performing at the traditional music festival “PINKPOP FESTIVAL” representing the Netherlands. During the YESTERDAY & TODAY era, he played live in his home country, but with the change of name to Y & T, he became motivated to perform overseas. This work is a superb sound board that lets such early live performances flow directly into your brain.

This is Y & T in 1982. Speaking of 1982, the official excavation live album “LIVE ON THE FRIDAY ROCK SHOW” recorded the pattern of the Reading Festival, but that was after the release of “BLACK TIGER”. On the other hand, this work was the final version of “EARTHSHAKER Tour”. The festival was also a stepping stone to their invasion of Europe. They had a show in France in 1980 and in England in 1981, each once. However, in 1981, as mentioned above, he began to move back and forth between the United States and Europe, and gradually solidified his position. The appearance of “PINKPOP” in this work was also the first step.

It has long reigned as a staple of early Y & T. This work is also such a classic FM sound board, but it is the highest peak update board released by Mr. “G Man” very recently. If you know Mr. GMan, you may have already decided. Since the new Corona Pandemic, a large number of famous and unknown recorders have released sound sources for fans who can no longer watch concerts, and “G Man” is one of them. Especially in the 80’s HR / HM, it has a series of wonderful masterpieces and is very popular in our shop. Gary Moore’s “MONSTERS OF ROCK 1984 (Zodiac 439)”, MOTLEY CRUE’s “MONSTERS OF ROCK NUREMBERG 1984 (Zodiac 433)”, ACCEPT’s “MONSTERS OF ROCK 1984 (Zodiac 436)” We have introduced various masterpieces. Of course, this work is not a guest record but a sound board, but the name taper is also a name recorder. The air check master is recorded with aesthetics, and the complementary environment is perfect. Over 40 years, it conveys a sound that is different from the conventional version to the present day.

[Ultra-real sound board that sets a new record high] Actually, the sound is the best with “super”. It’s a bit too raw to call it an “official work style” just for FM broadcasts in the 80’s, but there’s nothing wrong with that. The guitar, vocals, and rhythm section are all very thick and close. Even though the core is rampaging, it is clear and vivid to the subtleties, and each note is approaching in front of you while being super-realistic … No, even “in front of you” is lukewarm. Joey Alvis, Phil Kenemore, Leonard Hayes … Now, even the breathing feeling of Aun with the three dead people rushes into my brain with my feet. of course. The close contact was also enjoyed by the master, but the freshness of this work is tremendous. There is almost no twist that was in the conventional board, and the reproduction of deep bass is perfect to the subtleties. It is a karmic sound that further enhances Mr. “G Man”‘s fame.
Moreover, this work further brushes up such a superb master. The part that was partially deteriorated even though it was more than before was supplemented with another master, and the drum solo that was partially cut was completely restored. We also stabilized the pitch and sound pressure, which was about 60% faster than a semitone, and finished it as an “ultimate version” suitable for permanent storage.
What is drawn with such a sound is a full show where youth explodes. There was an incomplete version among the existing ones, but this work is the longest complete version. While organizing the contents of the set, let’s experience the volume of the number of songs.

Even if you say “sound board” in a bite, its individuality varies. This work is a type that transcends official works with a powerful super direct feeling rather than “official substitute”. It is a complete master of the highest peak update released by Mr. “G Man” very recently, and the guitar, vocals and rhythm section are very thick and close. そんな本作に刻まれているのは「1982年５月31日シッタート・ヘレーン公演」。オランダを代表する伝統の音楽祭“PINKPOP FESTIVAL”に出演した際のステレオ・サウンドボード録音です。YESTERDAY & TODAY時代は母国でライヴを重ねていましたが、Y&Tへの改名を機に海外公演にも意欲を見せるようになりました。本作は、そんな初期の生演奏を脳みそに直接流し込んでくれる極上サウンドボードなのです。
また1982年と言えば、“EARTHSHAKER Tour”と“BLACK TIGER Tour”の交差する時期でもある。まずは当時のスケジュールからショウのポジションを確かめてみましょう。

これが1982年のY&T。1982年と言えば、オフィシャルの発掘ライヴアルバム『LIVE ON THE FRIDAY ROCK SHOW』にレディング・フェスティバルの模様が収録されましたが、あれは『BLACK TIGER』発売後。それに対し、本作は“EARTHSHAKER Tour”の最終盤でした。また、このフェスは彼らにとってヨーロッパ侵攻の足がかりでもありました。彼らは1980年にフランス、1981年にはイギリスでショウを行った事がありましたが、いずれも１回ずつ。ところが、1981年に入ると上記のようにアメリカとヨーロッパを細かく行き来するようになり、少しずつ地歩を固めていった。本作の“PINKPOP”出演は、その最初の一歩でもあったのです。

【名録音家が発表した定番サウンドボードの最高峰マスター】
そんなステージは、有名フェスだけあってテレビ／ラジオで放送。以前から初期Y&Tの定番として君臨してきました。本作もそんな定番FMサウンドボードなのですが、ごく最近になって「GMan」氏が公開した最高峰更新盤なのです。「GMan」氏をご存知の方なら、もう心を決められているのではないでしょうか。新型コロナ・パンデミック以降、コンサートを観られなくなったファンのために有名無名の録音家が大量に音源を公開するようになりましたが、「GMan」氏もその１人。特に80年代HR/HMで素晴らしい名作を連発しており、当店でも大人気。ゲイリー・ムーアの『MONSTERS OF ROCK 1984（Zodiac 439）』やMOTLEY CRUEの『MONSTERS OF ROCK NUREMBERG 1984（Zodiac 433）』、ACCEPTの『MONSTERS OF ROCK 1984（Zodiac 436）』といったプレス名盤を筆頭に、様々な名作をご紹介してきました。もちろん、本作は客録ではなくサウンドボードなわけですが、名テーパーは名記録家でもある。そのエアチェック・マスターは美学を持って記録され、補完環境も万全。40年という時間を超え、従来盤とは次元の違うサウンドを現代に伝えてくれるのです。

【過去最高を更新する超リアル・サウンドボード】
実際、そのサウンドは「超」付きの極上。80年代のFM放送だけに「オフィシャル作品風」と呼ぶにはちょっと生々しすぎるのですが、それが悪かろうハズがない。ギターもヴォーカルもリズム隊も極太・ド密着。芯が暴れまくりながらも機微までクッキリと鮮やかで、１音１音が超リアルなまま目の前に迫る迫る……いや、もはや「目の前」ですら生ぬるい。ジョーイ・アルヴィス、フィル・ケネモア、レオナード・ヘイズ……今は亡き３人との阿吽の呼吸感までもが土足で脳内にズカズカと上がり込んでくる。もちろん。その密着ぶりは従来マスターでも味わえましたが、本作の鮮度は絶大。従来盤にあったヨレもほとんど見られず、重低音の再現度も機微まで完璧。「GMan」氏の名声を更に高める業物サウンドなのです。
しかも、本作はそんな超極上マスターを更にブラッシュ・アップ。従来以上とは言っても部分的に劣化していたパートを別マスターで補完し、一部がカットされていたドラムソロも完全復旧。半音の60％ほど速かったピッチや音圧の安定化も図り、永久保存に相応しい「究極版」に仕上げました。
そんなサウンドで描かれるのは、若さが炸裂するフル・ショウ。既発の中には不完全版もありましたが、本作は最長の完全版。セット内容を整理しつつ、曲数ボリュームも実感していただきましょう。
