故バーニー・マースデン本人が秘蔵していた“Bernie Tapes”で甦る最初期WHITESNAKEの真実！　細心マスタリングによる最高峰更新サウンドを永久保存するプレスCDで４作品同時リリース決定です!!
今回同時リリースとなる４連作は、いずれもWHITESNAKEが始動したばかりの1978年を伝える極初期のライヴアルバム。それもバーニー本人がわざわざ当店を訪れて直接ご提供くださった秘宝中の秘宝なのです。本作は、そんな４連作の最終弾。「1978年11月１日ブライトン・ドーム公演」公演のステレオ・サウンドボード録音です。
今回のバーニー・テープ４連作はすべて1978年ながら、メンバーは微妙に変化。その辺を把握するためにも、当時の活動概要を（少し広めに）俯瞰してみましょう。

これが1978年／1979年のWHITESNAKE。『TROUBLE』制作の最終盤になって３代目キーボーディストとしてジョン・ロードが加入。本作のブライトン公演は、その初ツアーである「英国#2」の一幕でした。このレッグからは公式盤『LIVE AT HAMMERSMITH』やハンリー公演の『STEAL THE NIGHT（Langley Deluxe 010）』といったサウンドボードも残されました。良い機会でもありますので、さらに日程をフォーカスし、それぞれの位置関係をチェックしておきましょう。

さて、そんなショウで記録された本作は「公式HAMMERSMITHの完全版」としても聴けるフル・サウンドボードにして、最高峰更新クオリティの決定盤。まずは公式盤と比較しつつ、曲数ボリュームを実感していただきましょう。

……と、このようになっています。公式『LIVE AT HAMMERSMITH』が約36分だった事もありますが、約76分のスケールは比較にもならない。４曲を丸々上乗せの上に、ミッキー・ムーディやジョン・ロードのソロもたっぷりと楽しめ、『STEAL THE NIGHT』のような「Mistreated」のカットもない。サウンドボードひしめく「英国#2」でも間違いなく最高傑作なのです。
しかも、本作は最新マスタリングでブラッシュアップされた最高峰更新盤。初登場盤だった『THE DEVIL IN ME』は卓直結系の弱みであるミックス・バランスの不自然さがありましたが、本作は高音のヌケが格段に良くなって均整の美を湛えている。一方、前回リマスターの『VINTAGE COLLECTION 1978（のDisc 2）』はコンピレーションだったために他音源との統一感が意図されてややドライに仕上がっていましたが、本作は他音源への忖度もなし。よりリッチで限りなく本来の出音へ近づけられたのです。

そんなフル・サウンドボードだけも胸いっぱいですが、本作は更に美味しすぎるボーナス・トラックも追加収録しています。それは1979年にリリースされたCOMPANYの幻シングル「We Wish You Well」。このCOMPANYはバーニー、ニール・マーレイ、ジョン・ロード、イアン・ペイスによる変名バンドで、カヴァデール／ミッキーはいませんが、本物メンバー達による約３分半に及ぶフルサイズの「We Wish You Well」が聴けるのです。
まさに「公式HAMMERSMITHの完全版」であり「デイヴ・ドウル時代の最高傑作」となるフル・サウンドボードの超名盤です。貴重度満点のバーニー・テープスではありますが、本作は前知識ゼロでも万人が熱狂できるオフィシャル超えの１枚。その最高峰をさらに更新したプレスCDでとことん味わい尽くしてください！

The four consecutive works released at the same time are all very early live albums that convey 1978, when WHITESNAKE had just started. This is WHITESNAKE in 1978/1979. At the final stage of the production of “TROUBLE”, Jon Lord joined as the third keyboardist. The Brighton performance of this work was part of their first tour, “UK #2.” From this leg, sound boards such as the official version “LIVE AT HAMMERSMITH” and Hanley performance “STEAL THE NIGHT (Langley Deluxe 010)” were also left. …and it looks like this. The official “LIVE AT HAMMERSMITH” may have been about 36 minutes, but the scale of about 76 minutes is incomparable. On top of the four songs, you can enjoy plenty of solos by Mickey Moody and Jon Lord, and there is no cut of “Mistreated” like “STEAL THE NIGHT”. “UK #2”, which is packed with soundboards, is definitely a masterpiece.
Moreover, this work is the highest peak updated edition that has been brushed up with the latest mastering. “THE DEVIL IN ME”, which was the first release, had an unnatural mix and balance, which is a weakness of direct-to-table systems, but this work has much better high-pitched sounds and is full of beauty of symmetry. . On the other hand, since the previous remastered “VINTAGE COLLECTION 1978 (Disc 2)” was a compilation, it was intended to have a sense of unity with other sound sources, resulting in a somewhat dry finish, but this work has no consideration for other sound sources. . The result is a richer sound that is as close to the original sound as possible.

Although such a full soundboard alone is heart-filling, this work also includes additional bonus tracks that are even more delicious. That is COMPANY’s phantom single “We Wish You Well” released in 1979. This COMPANY is a pseudonymous band consisting of Bernie, Neil Murray, Jon Lord, and Ian Paice, and although Coverdale/Mickey is not included, you can listen to the full-length “We Wish You Well”, which is about 3 and a half minutes long, performed by the real members. It is.
