1983 WHITESNAKE was powerfully molted with Cozy Powell & Mel Galley and Colin Hodgkinson. In terms of receiving enthusiasts, the new masterpiece, which has the best experience of the No. 1 time in history and is interesting even for minor troubles, will be permanently preserved.
The engraving on this work is “January 20, 1983 Offenbach performance”. It is the best audience recording. Speaking of WHITESNAKE in 1983, there are “three major professional records”, including the familiar official video “MONSTERS OF ROCK 1983”. It’s also a good opportunity, so let’s check the position from the tour schedule as well.
● 1982
“November 25,” SAINTS & SINNERS “released”
・ December 10-31: Europe # 1a (14 performances)
● 1983
・ January 1-31: Europe # 1b (18 performances) ← ★ Coco ★
・ February 7-23: Japan (10 performances) ← DEFINITIVE BUDOKAN 1983
・ March 19: West Germany TV appearance ← LIVE … IN THE WEST OF THE RHINE
<< April “SLIDE IT IN” production started >>
・ August 14-September 6: Europe # 2 (11 performances) ← * Official MONSTERS OF ROCK 1983
This work recorded at such a show is truly the finest brand. After all, this work is the “G. Mann” collection, which has become the hottest topic in 2021 for HR / HM collectors around the world. Gary Moore and ACCEPT’s MONSTERS OF ROCK recordings have been made into a press in our shop and have been very well received, but this work is also the latest work that will further enhance the fame of the master. However, just because “G. Mann” does not mean that it is a masterpiece, it does not mean that everything will be pressed. As some of you may have already noticed, Ozzy Osbourne’s “OFFENBACH 1983 (Shades 1293)” at the same venue the day before was a CDR release. For that reason, I think that the WHITESNAKE version is also …, but this work is totally different in dimension! Apparently the positions are very different, and the thick core is super direct without a sense of distance. This tour isn’t “official” because it has official and semi-official pro shots, but it’s a superb sound that’s far from the audience, which would have been called Shiret if there were no comparisons.
Collectors all over the world are brilliant because of the quality, but this work is the highest peak board that has been further refined by the newly excavated master. Accurately adjusts the pitch that was significantly slower, and improves the overall lack. The sound board feeling has been further enhanced. Even bigger is the cut part by tape change. There is no separate recording for this show, but the latest Lausanne recording (January 22nd) complemented the recording omissions in two places (Lovehunter’s reply part 15 seconds and Thank You Blues opening 29 seconds). The full show is finished so that it can be enjoyed seamlessly. [Live album with interesting arrangements and troubles] The best quality of this work is a full show that is a bit different from the “three major professional records”. The most famous of the three is the official video “MONSTERS OF ROCK 1983”, so let’s organize it while comparing it.
● Classic Snake
・ LOVEHUNTER (2 songs): Walking in the Shadow of the Blues / Lovehunter
・ READY AN’WILLING (2 songs): Ready an’ Willing / Fool For Your Loving
・ COME AN’GET IT (2 songs): Don’t Break My Heart Again (★) / Wine, Women an’Song (★)
・ SAINTS & SINNERS (3 songs): Rough an’Ready / Here I Go Again / Crying in the Rain (★)
● Others
・ You Shook Me (★) / Soldier Of Fortune / Ain’t No Love in the Heart of the City / Thank You Blues
* Note: The “★” mark is a song that cannot be heard in the official video “MONSTERS OF ROCK 1983”.
… And it looks like this. Many of the famous songs that were simplified at the festival are delicious, but the one that catches the eye is “You Shook Me”. He sang several times in 1979, but at this time he performed lightly but moodyly with only Mickey and Coverdale at the ending of “Lovehunter”. Elmore’s bare Mickey slide instantly transforms the mood into Chicago, and Coverdale’s wet voice barks with British pride. The arrangement that enriches the soul of early WHITESNAKE is the best.
Also, the only thing to listen to in this work is midfield trouble. Normally, “Crying in the Rain / Soldier of Fortune” is followed by Jon Lord → Cozy Powell and two major solo times, but it seems that something happened here. Coverdale was about to introduce Jon Lord, saying, “I’ll introduce my two best friends here. First of all …”, “What’s wrong? I’m sorry. I’m sorry, cozy.・ It’s Powell. ” Perhaps there was something wrong with the organ, but if Coverdale’s situation was judged quickly, the staff who played the tape of “633 Squadron” without a break from that word was just wonderful. Perhaps the on-site customers didn’t realize that the keyboard solo was originally planned.
Although the story goes back and forth, speaking of Cozy, the MC after “Here I Go Again” is also interesting. Here Coverdale (for some reason) tries to introduce Cozy, but just saying “new drummer” without saying his name causes a terrible “Cozy!” Call. I thought Japan was the most popular cozy in the world, but maybe I lost.
I’ve written many times about the umami of this lineup, such as the powerfully revived classic snake masterpieces and the fun of rhythm because of Cozy & Colin Hodgkinson, but this work was a fresh ensemble. It is a masterpiece of a live album where you can fully experience the first half of the tour with the best sound. A new masterpiece that I would like to call “Four Tenno” as a masterpiece of “Europe # 1” that cannot be suppressed by “three major professional records”. Here is a dignified permanent preservation decision!
★ The best audience recording of “January 20, 1983 Offenbach performance”. It is a super direct sound with a thick core approaching without a sense of distance, accurately adjusting the pitch that was crazy in the original sound of the net, patching the lack of tape change in the part UT performance, and finishing it so that you can enjoy the full show seamlessly. It was. In addition to the powerfully revived classics, you can fully experience a number of valuable scenes with the best sound, such as “You Shook Me” only at the beginning of the tour and equipment troubles where John’s solo quickly switches to cozy.

The main press 2CD is a shocking work by a new excavation master that is comparable to a sound board. It is a new masterpiece that is lined up with the “three major professional records” that have symbolized 1983. “The sight of a full show” is suitable for that bonus. A special bonus will be attached to the blockbuster video that occupies one of the “three major professional records” and boasts the most popular WHITESNAKE title group.
This work contains “March 19, 1983 Ludwigshafen performance (West Germany)”. Yes, it is a professional shot video of the blockbuster “LIVE … IN THE WEST OF THE RHINE”. The press board “LIVE … IN THE WEST OF THE RHINE”, which has been sold out for a long time, was a 3-disc set of the finest stereo sound board and pro shot, but this work contained the pro shot video version in the DVDR. It is one.
In this era, there was an official video “WHITESNAKE LIVE!” When “MONSTERS OF ROCK 1983” appeared, but this West Germany performance was highly acclaimed by enthusiasts all over the world as “MONSTERS OF ROCK or more!” It was a live show. The pattern is broadcast on both TV and radio, and it is a big classic in the history of WHITESNAKE, which has produced various bootlegs for many years. Gene’s young masters have been excavated in the times, but the super-decision board that reigned as the top and still has nothing to surpass was “LIVE … IN THE WEST OF THE RHINE” (title “West bank of the Rhine” is Ludwigshafen).
The visual beauty of the professional shot without distortion was also shocking, but it is in the sound that this work does not give up the position of “King of WHITESNAKE boot”. I wrote “broadcast on the radio” earlier, but the sound was different on TV and radio. It was a “television broadcast = monaural” and “radio = stereo” broadcast. This work uses a master derived from the broadcast master even in the stereo broadcast, and realizes the best sound in boot history. It synchronizes it with the best TV images in existence. In other words, you can enjoy not only many of the same live titles, but also the super-beautiful stereo sound that you can’t even enjoy on the main TV broadcast!
However, no matter how high the quality, the live itself is meaningless. In that respect as well, this work deserves the name of “King of WHITESNAKE boot”. At that time, WHITESNAKE had finished the tour and went to Germany to produce the masterpiece “SLIDE IT IN (UK MIX)”. Just before I was about to make a masterpiece, I did this special live at the offer of a TV station. A dissonance is created in the band during the production of “SLIDE IT IN (UK MIX)”, but this work has not yet predicted that. Only the combination of bands cultivated in the long “SAINTS & SINNERS TOUR”, the passion and potential to create a masterpiece are deliciously packed.
Jon Lord’s solo, which was canceled at the Offenbach performance of the main press 2CD, can be seen in full scale, and even more intense is Cozy’s solo time! This work is also a super valuable one where his drum solo can be seen in a perfect multi-camera pro shot. Of course, there are also professional shots such as RAINBOW’s Munich and WHITESNAKE’s Super Rock ’84, but those are only “1812” or used with the theme of “Mars”. What you see in this film is the most spectacular “633 Cavalry + 1812” version of his career, the full version of the big spectacle version, which lasts nine and a half minutes! When he appeared in “MONSTERS OF ROCK 1983”, he performed the ultimate performance enough to fly a helicopter, but unfortunately the remaining images are dark and difficult to understand. There is no doubt that this work is the best video.
The 1983 WHITESNAKE that was powerfully moulting but stopped just before “heavy metal” and played a hot and powerful blues rock. It is a luxurious set of the new masterpiece and the champion pro shot. Two performances that you can fully enjoy from your eyes and ears. Please enjoy it to your heart’s content.
