This work, which was recorded at the largest venue in the UK, is a masterpiece nest that makes you want to say a semi -professional shot. In fact, it is an audience shot taken from the left side of the stage (Joel Hawkstra side), but screens shots are often used halfway. And that’s not all. And the gorgeous sight is also unique to the video. Leb & Joel’s technical twin is comparable to the Steve Vai era, and the front line, which is lined up to Taniya Ocalahan, is dazzling. The twin keyboard that solidifies both sides is really meaningful, but when it comes to solo, Dino Gelusic, which comes out with a chorchy, is extremely fresh. The delicious parts of each song are excerpted and connected, and the full show is compressed to about 18 minutes. Although it is unfortunate, the real pleasure of seeing the “last Cava Dale” and “Twin Guitar + Solky” is difficult to replace everything.

古希を迎えたデヴィッド・カヴァデールがツアー人生の終わりを宣言した“THE FAREWELL TOUR MMXXII”。そのフルショウを体験できる絶景映像が登場です。
そんな本作が撮影されたのは「2022年５月16日ロンドン公演」。大会場“The O2 Arena”で撮影された絶景オーディエンス・ショットです。現在の彼らはFOREIGNER／EUROPEとカップリングでツアー中であり、“The O2 Arena”公演はその最初のハイライトでもありました。今週はメインアクトであるWHITESNAKE篇（本作）だけでなく、FOREIGNER篇『Uxbridge 1656』も同時リリースとなりますし、もっと言えばEUROPE篇『THE O2 ARENA 2022』もギフト・リリース。３作揃えれば、英米欧メロディック・ロックの代表バンドが一同に会したフルショウを完全体験できます。
ともあれ、本作の主役はWHITESNAKE。まずは、現在進行意中のツアー・スケジュールからショウのポジションを確かめてみましょう。

これが現在までに公表されている“THE FAREWELL TOUR MMXXII”の全体像。EUROPEとは「欧州」レッグも一緒に巡りますが、FOREIGNERとは「英国」ツアーのみです。先日リリースされた第一報『DUBLIN 2022（Shades 1523）』はツアー初日だったのに対し、本作のロンドン公演は４公演目にあたるコンサートでした。
母国イギリスでも最大級の会場で記録された本作は、半プロショットと言いたくなるような傑作営巣。実際にはステージ左側（ジョエル・ホークストラ側）から撮影されたオーディエンス・ショットなのでですが、途中からスクリーン・ショットも多用されているのです。しかも、それだけではない。スクリーンではなくステージを直視しても遮蔽物なくステージを一望でき、見どころを見たい放題に捉えている。
さらに美味しいのが極太のサウンド。画面には映りませんが、どうやらＰＡの間近席らしく、オーディエンス・ノイズを完全に抑え込む芯はどこまでも力強く、ド密着で距離感ゼロ。セパレート感もサウンドボード級でして、７人の大所帯だと言うに１人ひとりの１音１音がしっかりと聴き取れる。（トミー・アルドリッジ以外の）全員がコーラスを取っても、カヴァデールの歌声もキチンと聴き取れる。そのド密着サウンドもあり、スクリーン・ショットになると、本当にプロショットのようなのです。
そんな半プロ・クオリティで描かれるのは、待望のフルショウ。前述した『DUBLIN 2022』は最速リリースのためにハイライトだけの抜粋映像でしたが、本作は一気貫通のフル映像なのです。それでは、早速気になるフルセットも整理しておきましょう。

……と、このようになっています。初日ダブリン公演では復活曲「Take Me With You」で〆ていましたが、その後はラスト曲を「Burn」にチェンジ。もちろん、カヴァデールにとってはメジャー・デビュー曲であり、DEEP PURPLE栄光の象徴でもある。フェアウェル・ツアーにこれ以上ないほど相応しいエンディングになりました。
そして、ゴージャスを極めた光景も映像ならではの旨み。レブ＆ジョエルのテクニカル・ツインはスティーヴ・ヴァイ時代に匹敵する華やかさですし、そこに紅一点タニヤ・オキャラハンまで並んだフロントラインは、目移りするほどのまばゆさ。両脇を固めるツイン・キーボードは本当に意味があるのか迷いますが、ソロタイムになるとショルキーを持って前に出てくるディノ・ジェルーシックが極めてフレッシュ。名曲群はお馴染みではあるものの、見ている楽しさは歴代No.1かもしれません。
また、そんなフルセットの後。本作にはお楽しみのボーナス映像も収録しています。同じロンドン公演のオーディエンス・ショットなのですが、本編とは異なるポジションで撮影された別映像なのです。そのポジションが猛烈に近い！　あまりのドアップでポジションが分からないのですが、恐らく４列目くらい……とにかく、プロショットの１アングルかの如き超接写です。ただし、この映像はダイジェスト。各曲の美味しいパートを抜粋して繋げられており、フルショウを約18分に圧縮している。その点は残念ではあるものの、「最後のカヴァデール」や「ツインギター＋ショルキー」を手の届きそうな位置で見られる醍醐味は何物にも代え難いのです。
７人編成という新たなエンターテインメントで生まれ変わった新生白蛇の“THE FAREWELL TOUR MMXXII”。その全貌を「半プロショット」とでも言うべき超絶景で楽しめる極上映像です。本物のプロショットが実現しない限り、これ以上の映像は出てこないんじゃないかというほどの傑作。どうぞ、存分にお楽しみください！
