TYGERS OF PAN TANG is said to be the “most NWOBHM-like band” among the group male divisions. Introducing an original recording that tells the legendary first visit to Japan that was realized in 1982.
The performance recorded in this work is “September 27, 1982: Nagoya City Labor Hall”. It is a superb audience recording that vacuum-packed the whole story. Their first visit to Japan was not so much attention because John Sykes had withdrawn in advance, but it is also known that the famous recordings were mass-produced. At our shop, we have archived many original masters, including the masterpiece “BLACKJACK (Calm & Storm 025)” on the press CD. First, let’s organize the collection by schedule.

・ September 26: Shibuya Public Hall “BLACKJACK”
・ September 27: Nagoya City Labor Hall ← ★ This work ★
・ September 28: Osaka Festival Hall
・ September 29: Nakano Sunplaza “TOKYO BOUND”
・ September 30: Nakano Sunplaza “TOKYO LAST NIGHT”

Above, all 5 performances. So far, we have introduced the original recordings of the 3 performances in Tokyo, but this time in Nagoya. Now you can experience all the performances except Osaka. This work recorded at such a performance in Nagoya is a really fresh and vivid audience recording. Anyway, even the fine parts are beautiful. The core reaches powerfully and straight, and there is almost no sense of distance. The clear air feels clear to the details, and the snare sound, which tends to be squishy, has plenty of mass. When I listen to it as if I’m looking for an audience to write a manuscript, I sometimes think that the tone is like that, but the clarity and strength are just like FM broadcasting. It’s a name recording that is so purely “Wow, cool!” That it makes you foolish to listen while looking for evidence of.
What is drawn with such a crisp and clear real sound is a full show that reminds us of the “body odor of NWOBHM”. Actually, their set was not fixed, and all five performances in Japan for the first time were different. However, it is not completely different, but a style in which daily songs are mixed through the basic set. Let’s organize it here.

● Classics (7 songs)
・ WILD CAT: Wild Catz / Suzie Smiled
・ SPELLBOUND: Blackjack / Don’t Stop By / Hellbound
・ CRAZY NIGHTS: Love Don’t Stay (★) / Raised On Rock
● THE CAGE (9 songs)
・ You Always See What You Want / Lonely At The Top / Letter From L.A./Tides/Paris By Air / Life Of Crime (★) / The Actor / Making Tracks (★) / Love Potion No.9
* Note: “★” marks are daily songs.

… And it looks like this. Of the three daily songs, “Love Don’t Stay” is performed except for the Osaka performance, and “Life Of Crime” is performed outside the first day. The rarest is “Making Tracks”, which was shown only on the first day and in Nagoya (By the way, the three daily songs that were not played on that day are “Never Satisfied”, “Slave To Freedom” and “Gangland”). ..
Also, there are some interesting scenes happening because the set changes daily. First after “Life Of Crime”. John Devalil introduces “The next song is Making Tracks!”, But the one that flows out is the piano arpeggio. “Oops, I’m sorry! The next song is The Actor, not Making Tracks.” That moist intro is a very unsuitable and smiling act. Moreover, it doesn’t end there. this time! “Making Tracks” starts next, but I made a mistake in the intro. I’m recounting.
There were a lot of strange stories, but of course the biggest thing to listen to was the show itself. Above all, the NWOBHM odor that penetrates the whole is the best! It is. Metallic sharp, yet not too heavy riffs, exhilarating but unsophisticated beats, awkward Devalil vocals … All of them stayed half a step before the super A class and emitted the scent unique to Britain in 1979. This taste is NWOBHM. The scent drifting from the other side of the dusty single board is expanded to a full show and unfolded.

John Sykes was invited by big names such as THIN LIZZY and WHITESNAKE to leave, which is why the high-purity NWOBHM odor was left behind. It’s not a big band on a global scale, it’s not a blank and dull revival. The first visit to Japan of the TYGERS OF PAN TANG legend that conveyed the taste of NWOBHM to Japan while keeping it fresh. Is there any other performance in Japan that can only be conveyed to those who like it, and that can’t be tolerated by those who like it? A new masterpiece where you can experience the scene at its best. The scent of that dusty NWOBHM only, please inhale it to your heart’s content with this work!

★ The legendary first visit to Japan “September 27, 1982: Nagoya City Labor Hall” performance recording of the finest audience. Anyway, the fine parts are beautiful, the core reaches powerfully and straight, and there is almost no sense of distance. Clearness and strength are excellent recordings of FM broadcasting. “The Actor”, which introduces the song by mistake, is also interesting, but above all, the NWOBHM odor that penetrates the whole is the best! Metallic sharp, yet not too heavy riffs, exhilarating but unsophisticated beats, awkward Devalil vocals … NWOBHM’s scent is an unbearable piece that allows you to experience the Munmun scene at its best.

当店でもプレスCDの名盤『BLACKJACK(Calm & Storm 025)』を筆頭に、数多くのオリジナル・マスターでアーカイヴ。

WILD CAT:Wild Catz/Suzie Smiled
・SPELLBOUND:Blackjack/Don’t Stop By/Hellbound
・CRAZY NIGHTS:Love Don’t Stay(★)/Raised On Rock
●THE CAGE(9曲)
・You Always See What You Want/Lonely At The Top/Letter From L.A./Tides/Paris By Air/Life Of Crime(★)/The Actor/Making Tracks(★)/Love Potion No.9

まずは「Life Of Crime」の後。
