1989 TNT made his first visit to Japan with the Scandinavian metal symbol “INTUITION”. Introducing a phantom official video that allows you to witness the moment of popularity.
This work was shot at “August 17, 1989: Tokyo Kosei Nenkin Kaikan”. This is the official video work “FOREVER SHINE ON JAPAN LIVE” produced at the site. This video was a must-see and must-see masterpiece for fans. It was released in 1992, when the second (and disbanded) performance in Japan was held, not at that time, but unlike “THREE NIGHTS IN TOKYO”, it created the masterpiece “INTUITION”. Four people (+ the late support keyboardist Dag Stokke) are all together, and the set is also a large-scale behavior from “INTUITION”. Of course, I was able to witness a show with multi-camera pro shots that had a wonderful performance that didn’t make me feel the dust, such as the dissolution in the near future. However, due to the nature of the video work at that time, it was quickly discontinued. Even after that, it was not officially made into a DVD, and the official boots manufactured overseas are suffering from poor quality.
This work is a DVD of such a lost treasure image from the best master. Furthermore, it is the definitive video work of “Golden Age TNT” with a bonus attached to the promo clip at that time. Let’s first look back on the position of the main show from the schedule at that time.

Above, all 6 performances. Roughly in the order of Tokyo → Osaka → Nagoya, the Shinjuku performance of this work was the last day of the Kanto performance. And the quality is just the best. Since the original is an official work, it is natural that it is completely official, but the master freshness is also the best. No aging or tape twisting is seen, and there is no distortion of the screen edge, which is said to be the fate of the VHS master. It has been made into a permanent storage press as “INTUITION 25TH ANNIVERSARY (Zodiac 068)” because of its perfect quality. It is exactly the DVD made by the best existing master.
The beauty of the image is the utopia of Scandinavian metal, as if the masterpiece “INTUITION” had begun to move. Moreover, the song order is also a point, and the A side of “INTUITION” is almost reproduced (only “A Nation Free (Intro)” was taped as the opening BGM). Of course, the three songs of “TELL NO TALES” and “Take Me Down (Fallen Angel)” on the B side are wonderful, but because of this A side reproduction part, it feels even more “INTUITION to see with the eyes”. ..
And the performance that spells the set is exactly the live performance version “INTUITION”. Tony Harnell’s singing voice combines beauty with tremendous power, and is sharp, powerful, and stretchy. The enthusiastic singing that disturbs the rich blonde pierces the heart directly. And Ronnie Le Tecro. At that time, the phrase called “Fantasy Tengai” danced and made the famous songs have hooks and edges, and the beauty melody was not sweetened. A guitar solo time with such a must-see scene of Ronnie inserted between “End Of The Line” and “Intuition”. While playing an illusion (magic trick) with two guitars, I will bite a terrible solo with the third guitar. And the intro of the famous song “Intuition” echoes …
And this “Intuition” is a must-see again. Tony, wearing a T-shirt with Decca’s “Tokyo” written on it, came back and listened to a terrible throat, but the incident happened as a guitar solo. Although it does not appear in the video, Tony falls during the solo. He just pulled backstage. Of course, the latter half of the song is an instrument. Ronnie immediately instigated the audience in response to the sudden trouble, and the audience responded with a large chorus that involved the entire venue. In addition, Tony will return to the stage with “10,000 Lovers (In One)” with a bass and drum solo in between. You can witness it with a shot (I mean, it was released without retaking it often).

Of course, the memories of the 1980s are vividly revived in the subsequent 5 clips. Starting with “Seven Seas”, which is the incarnation of Scandinavian metal, it grows into a gorgeous image like BON JOVI and WHITESNAKE as the songs are repeated. Together with the main live, it is a microcosm of the “Golden Age”. A superb professional shot that allows you to immerse TNT in the most dazzling moments for about 68 minutes. 北欧メタルの象徴盤『INTUITION』を携え、初来日を果たした1989年のTNT。人気絶頂の刹那を目撃できる幻のオフィシャル映像が登場です。
そんな本作が撮影されたのは「1989年８月17日：東京厚生年金会館」。その現場で製作されたオフィシャルの映像作品『FOREVER SHINE ON JAPAN LIVE』です。この映像は、まさにファン必携・必見の名作でした。当時ではなく、二度目の（そして解散となった）来日公演が行われた1992年にリリースされたのですが、『THREE NIGHTS IN TOKYO』とは違って大名盤『INTUITION』を創り上げた４人（＋サポート・キーボーディストの故ダグ・ストッケ）が揃い、セットも『INTUITION』からの大盤振る舞い。もちろん、近い将来の解散など微塵も感じさせないパフォーマンスも素晴らしいショウをマルチカメラ・プロショットで目撃できたのです。しかし、当時の映像作品の性であっと言う間に廃盤。その後も公式にはDVD化されず、海外で製造されたオフィシャル・ブートはクオリティが粗雑……という憂き目に遭っているのです。
本作は、そんな失われた秘宝映像をベスト・マスターからDVD化。さらに当時のプロモ・クリップもボーナス付属させた“黄金期TNT”の決定映像作なのです。それでは、まずは本編となるショウのポジションを当時のスケジュールから振り返ってみましょう。

以上、全６公演。ざっくり東京→大阪→名古屋という流れで、本作の新宿公演は関東公演の最終日にあたるコンサートでした。そして、そのクオリティはまさに極上。元が公式作品ですから完全オフィシャル級なのは当然ですが、マスター鮮度も最高。経年劣化もテープヨレもまるで見られず、VHSマスターの宿命とさえ言われる画面端の歪みさえない。あまりに完璧なクオリティだけに『INTUITION 25TH ANNIVERSARY（Zodiac 068）』として永久保存プレス化されたこともある。まさに現存するベスト・マスターによるDVD化なのです。
その映像美で描かれるのは、名盤『INTUITION』が動き出したような北欧メタルの理想郷。本編のライヴ・パートは50分と短めではあるのですが、そこに必殺の名曲を濃縮。ボーナス映像のPVと併せ、本作の内容を整理していましょう。

……と、このようになっています。軸となるのは明らかに『INTUITION』で、『THREE NIGHTS IN TOKYO』で聴けなかった美メロの嵐。しかも、曲順もポイントで『INTUITION』のＡ面をほぼ再現している（「A Nation Free (Intro)」のみ開演BGMとしてテープで流されました）。もちろん、『TELL NO TALES』の３曲もＢ面の「Take Me Down (Fallen Angel)」も素晴らしいわけですが、このＡ面再現パートがあるからこそ一層「目で観るINTUITION」と感じられるのです。
そして、そのセットを綴るパフォーマンスも、まさに生演奏版『INTUITION』。トニー・ハーネルの歌声は美しさと凄まじい迫力を兼ね備え、鋭く、力強く、伸びに伸びる。豊かなブロンドを振り乱しての熱唱は心に直接突き刺さるのです。そして、ロニー・ル・テクロ。当時「奇想天外」とも言われたフレーズが乱舞しては名曲群にフックとエッジを宿らせ、美メロも甘ったるくさせない。そんなロニーの必見シーンが「End Of The Line」と「Intuition」の合間に差し込まれたギターソロ・タイム。２本のギターでイリュージョン（手品）風に鳴らしながら３本目のギターで凄絶なソロをブチかましていく。そして、名曲「Intuition」のイントロが鳴り響く……。
そして、この「Intuition」がまた必見。デッカく「東京」と書かれたＴシャツを着たトニーが戻ってきて凄まじいノドを聴かせるのですが、ギターソロになって事件が起きた。映像には映りませんが、ソロの最中にトニーが転倒。そのままバックステージへ引っ込んでしまったのです。もちろん、曲の後半はインスト。その突然のトラブルにロニーがとっさに観客を煽り、観客も会場中を巻き込む大合唱で応えた。さらにベース＆ドラム・ソロを挟んだ「10,000 Lovers（In One）」でトニーもステージに戻ってくるわけですが、まるで予め予定された演出かのように決まった感動的なシーンをマルチカメラ・プロショットで目撃できるのです（と言いますか、よく撮り直しもせずに発売したものです）。

もちろん、その後のクリップ５曲も80年代時の想い出が鮮やかに甦る。北欧メタルの権化な「Seven Seas」から始まり、曲を重ねるほどにBON JOVIやWHITESNAKEのような豪華な映像へと成長していく。本編ライヴと併せ、まさに“黄金時代”の縮図なのです。TNTが最も眩しく輝いていた刹那を約68分に渡って浸りきれる極上プロショット。どうぞ、存分にご堪能ください。
