The ultimate evolution of the iconic sound board and professional shot of the John Sykes era. It appears in a stereo version that greatly exceeds the official version.
“January 26, 1983 Hitchin performance” is included in this work. It is a decision board with the stereo sound board recording on Disc 1 and the multi-camera pro shot on Disc 2. I think that collectors have already come to a pin, but this show is just a symbol. It was also broadcast on TV on the famous program “Sight & Sound”, and its professional shot video is a large classic that has been recorded in many official works. However, the symbolic pro shot is sourced from monaural broadcasting. This work is the ultimate board upgraded with a different stereo sound board.
“Why was the upgrade realized?” In order to explain it, let’s introduce each disc individually here.

[DISC 1: BBC RADIO 1 broadcast version stereo sound board] Disc 1 is the heart of this work. This is a stereo soundboard recording. The TV broadcast on the aforementioned “Sight & Sound” is famous, but in fact this show was also broadcast on FM on BBC RADIO 1’s “In Concert”. And the FM broadcast board was the stereo mix, which was longer than the TV broadcast. This disc is the highest peak board that reprinted the “In Concert” version from the pre-broadcast master.
In terms of quality, it’s nothing more than “completely official grade”, but it’s cool by an order of magnitude different from the TV version’s voice. The TV broadcast version was not just monaural, only the vocals and bass were large, and the guitar and keyboard were unnaturally recessed. In particular, the guitar was hopeless, and when Scott or Sykes tried to play a solo solo, it was a strange balance, as if he was about half depressed and played from a distance (There was an official DVD that claimed 5.1 surround sound, but the monaural sound was processed. It was not a white thing that was praised just for doing it). In that respect, the FM broadcast board is perfect. The solo solo is also crisp, and the harmony is three-dimensional. In addition, Darren Wharton’s synth is also very active. That is a completed live album that is as good as the studio work “THUNDER AND LIGHTNING”.
In addition to its sound, the FM broadcast version has more songs than the Pro Shot. Let’s get things sorted out here.

– Recorded in both FM version (Disc 1) / TV version (Disc 2)
・ Thunder & Lightning: This Is The One (*) / Cold Sweat (*) / The Sun Goes Down / The Holy War (*) / Baby Please Don’t Go
・Classics: Rosalie/Jailbreak (★)/The Boys Are Back In Town (★)
– Recorded only in the FM broadcast version (Disc 1)
・Still In Love With You/Dancing In The Moonlight/Baby Drives Me Crazy(★)
*Note: “★” marks are songs not included in “IRISH TOUR ’83” released at the same time. The “*” marks are songs that could not be heard on “BBC RADIO ONE LIVE IN CONCERT”.

[DISC 2: Stereo SIGHT & SOUND + bonus pro shot version] The replacement DISC 2 is a symbolic pro shot that has been upgraded with the stereo sound of the FM broadcast version. Actually, there are two types of video version, “SIGHT & SOUND version” and “ROCK MONSTERS version”, and some angles are different. What is used in this work is the long “SIGHT & SOUND version”, which has been mentioned by the famous DJ Pete Drummond.
If you’ve read this article, you’ll be familiar with the content, but the stereo sound upgrade will probably exceed your imagination. Recently, the 1978 Sydney performance pro shot of the Gary Moore era was also officially upgraded, but this work is also the Sykes version.
I’m full just by upgrading the best professional shots from Sykes’ era, but this work includes 3 types of bonus TV broadcast professional shots that are even more delicious.

●January 28, 1983 “THE TUBE”
The first is the famous program “THE TUBE” recorded two days after the main Hitchin performance. “The Boys Are Back In Town”, “The Sun Goes Down” and “Cold Sweat” were broadcasted in the video called “the third standard” after the officialized Hitchin performance / Dublin performance. In this work, it is reprinted from the official best master.
●Two types of “Cold Sweat” TV broadcasts
The remaining two are “SATURDAY STAYBACK” and “THE SATURDAY SHOW”, both of which performed “Cold Sweat” live. In particular, the former is a rare video that is being played at a local pub, but the recording date is “January 22”, which is four days before the main Hitchin performance. It is also the first live performance after joining John Sykes.

The best pro shot of THIN LIZZY in the John Sykes era is the ultimate work that has been upgraded with a stereo sound board. If the ultimate work of the Gary Moore era is the official new work “THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN Live At The Sydney Opera House October 1978”, the Sykes era is definitely this work. A 2-disc set that should be collected side by side with official products. Please enjoy it to the fullest.

* A two-disc set with Disc 1 for the stereo sound board recording of “Hitchin performance on January 26, 1983″ and Disc 2 for the multi-camera pro shot. Although it is famous as a super classic pro shot, this work replaces the original monaural sound with a stereo FM broadcast version. Got the ultimate upgrade. The FM broadcast version sound board is also made into a live album, and various bonus images are additionally recorded. It is a super-decision board of the John Sykes era that exceeds official works.

【DISC 1:BBC RADIO 1

This Is The One(★*)/Cold Sweat(*)/The Sun Goes Down/The Holy War(★)/Baby Please Don’t Go
Rosalie/Jailbreak(★)/The Boys Are Back In Town(★)
Still In Love With You/Dancing In The Moonlight/Baby Drives Me Crazy(★)

THE TUBE”
公式化されたヒッチン公演/ダブリン公演に次ぐ「第三の定番」と呼ばれた映像で、「The Boys Are Back In Town」「The Sun Goes Down」「Cold Sweat」が放送されました。
残る2種はどちらも「Cold Sweat」をライヴ演奏した”SATURDAY STAYBACK”と”THE SATURDAY SHOW”。

ゲイリー・ムーア時代の究極作がオフィシャル新作『THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN Live At The Sydney Opera House October 1978』なら、サイクス時代は間違いなく本作。
