This is Steven ‘s concert schedule which has been published to date. As AEROSMITH, there was only “NEW ORLEANS JAZZ & HERITAGE FESTIVAL” appearance in May. Started solo tour “SUMMER TOUR 2018” from June. Bethlehem performance of this work is a concert which is the 4th performances.
This work which recorded such a show is a superb audience shot of a wonderful view …, maybe. I am sorry I can not rely on it, but the cause of repelling is in quality that is too high. It is filmed from the back of the 1st floor in the left side of the stage, but it is an amazing view anyway. The height of the line of sight is far above the audience’s head and looking directly at the stage without shielding objects. Besides, camerawork is also skillful. Grab the steven that acts violently in the center and repeat the zoom in / out freely. At the most up, I also see steven’s mouth wrinkles and fun smile firmly. Moreover, the stability feeling that it was brisk to just zoom to active is not disturbed.

本作が撮影されたのは「2018年６月24日ベツレヘム公演」。今年５月にはAEROSMITHのショウも行われましたが、現在はソロ。その辺の関係を理解する上でも、2018年のライヴスケジュールからショウのポジションを確認してみましょう。

これが現在までに公表されているスティーヴンのコンサート日程。AEROSMITHとしては５月に“NEW ORLEANS JAZZ & HERITAGE FESTIVAL”出演があったのみ。６月からソロツアー“SUMMER TOUR 2018”を開始。本作のベツレヘム公演は、その４公演目にあたるコンサートです。
そんなショウを収録した本作は、素晴らしい見晴らしの極上オーディエンス・ショット……です、たぶん。頼りなくて申し訳ないのですが、言い淀む原因は極上すぎるクオリティにある。ステージ左寄りの１階席後方から撮影されているのですが、とにかく絶景。目線の高さは観客の頭上より遙かに上で、遮蔽物なしにステージを直視している。その上、カメラワークも巧み。激しくアクションするスティーヴンを中央に捉え、自在にズームイン／アウトを繰り返す。最アップではスティーヴンの口元のシワや楽しそうな笑顔もしっかりと見える。しかも、どれだけアクティヴにズームしようとビシッとした安定感が乱れないのです。
そして、その光景に相応しいサウンドも素晴らしい。今週同時リリースの名盤ライヴアルバム『LEWISTON 2018（Shades 941）』には及びませんが、遮蔽物のなしに真っ直ぐ届くクリアさは絶品。数々のAEROSMITHナンバーに大合唱が巻き起こりますが、それも逞しい演奏音＆歌声を邪魔することなく、まるでFM放送のようなバランス。実のところ、曲間でセッティングし直すシーンもあるのでやはりオーディエンス撮影だと分かるのですが、あまりの絶景＆安定感＆クリア・サウンドに、思わず会場設営カメラの関係者ショットかと迷ってしまうのです。
そのクオリティで描かれるショウがまた素晴らしい。セットはAEROSMITHの名曲群の他、ソロアルバムの「Only Heaven」「We’re All Somebody From Somewhere」「My Own Worst Enemy」を披露。さらにビートルズやアーマ・フランクリンといったカバーの数々を演奏していきます。そうしたレパートリーは『LEWISTON 2018』でも楽しめましたが、本作はさらにジャニス・ジョップリンの「Mercedes Benz」も歌ってくれる。さらに面白いのは「Only Heaven」の後。この日はミック・フリートウッド（FLEETWOOD MAC）の誕生日で、彼に贈るバースデー・メッセージを撮影するのです。スマホを持った女性スタッフが登場してスティーヴンや観客と映すのですが、その撮影画面と音声が本作にも重ねられている。何ともネット全盛な今ドキの演出が観られるのです。

昨年、突然のドクター・ストップでAEROSMITHのツアーを中断させてしまったスティーヴン・タイラー。年齢が年齢だけに心配しましたが、彼は相も変わらず元気そのもの。その姿と歌声を極上クオリティで味わえる映像作品です。本作自体が傑作というだけでなく、凄まじいサウンドの『LEWISTON 2018』の“向こう側”にいるであろう彼の勇姿を思い描き、昨年の想い出も鮮やかに甦ってくる１枚。どうぞ、この機会にぜひたっぷりとお楽しみください。
