This is the 1999 Sheryl Crow. The album “THE GLOBE SESSIONS” was released in the fall of 1998, but the tour wasn’t until 1999. The Nashville performance of this work is the 17th performance of “North America # 2”, which is about two months before the official “LIVE FROM CENTRAL PARK”. Cheryl also appeared in “WOODSTOCK ’99”, but it was also a concert two days later.
This work recorded at such a show is also a superb stereo sound board. A DAT master recorded directly from the on-site mix table, with unprocessed cored sound. Cheryl’s singing voice and each instrument vividly reverberate in the brain. Perhaps it happened to be that kind of sound with the equipment at the site, but it also has the beauty of an official work, with the full flavor of the directly connected sound board.
The beautiful sound is a full show that is different from the performance in Japan. As a matter of fact, this day is a festival format where more than 10 groups of artists appear at the same venue. Therefore, Cheryl’s time was as short as about 54 minutes. Let’s organize the contents here.

… And it looks like this. Attention is the cover “Juanita” of THE FLYING BURRITO BROTHERS. This song is also the number provided for Gram Parsons’ tribute album “RETURN OF THE GRIEVOUS ANGEL” released in 1999. In other words, “Anything but Down” and “Mississippi” may not be heard even on the official version “LIVE FROM CENTRAL PARK”. Also, guest participation is a different point of listening from the performance in Japan. “Everyday Is a Winding Road” features Ashwin Sood, “The Difficult Kind” features Cheryl’s sister Kathy, and “Juanita” features Emmylou Harris, adding to the stage.
Although it is an official grade in terms of audio quality, it is a superb sound board with a vivid table-directed sound that is not possible with the official board. A transcendental bonus album whose quality itself conveys the awesomeness of the excavation site. Please do not miss this opportunity!

これが1999年のシェリル・クロウ。アルバム『THE GLOBE SESSIONS』は1998年秋にはリリースされましたが、ツアーは1999年になってから。本作のナッシュヴィル公演は公式『LIVE FROM CENTRAL PARK』の約２ヶ月前である「北米#2」の17公演目。シェリルは“WOODSTOCK ’99”にも出演していましたが、その２日後にあたるコンサートでもありました。
そんなショウで記録された本作は、これまた超極上のステレオ・サウンドボード。現場のミックス卓からダイレクトに録音したDATマスターであり、無加工の芯丸出しサウンド。シェリルの歌声や楽器１つひとうが輪郭もビビッドに脳内で鳴り響く。恐らく現場会場の機材でたまたまそういう音になったのでしょうが、直結サウンドボードの旨みたっぷりのまま、まるで公式作品のような整った美しさも併せ持っているのです。
その美音で描かれるのは、これまた日本公演とは異なるフルショウ。実のところ、この日は同じ会場で10組以上のアーティストが出演するフェス形式。そのため、シェリルの持ち時間も約54分と短めでした。ここでその内容も整理してみましょう。

……と、このようになっています。注目はTHE FLYING BURRITO BROTHERSのカバー「Juanita」。この曲は1999年にリリースされたグラム・パーソンズのトリビュート盤『RETURN OF THE GRIEVOUS ANGEL』にも提供されたナンバーです。もっと言えば、「Anything but Down」「Mississippi」あたりは公式盤『LIVE FROM CENTRAL PARK』でも聴けない曲だったりします。また、ゲスト参加も日本公演とは違う聴きどころ。「Everyday Is a Winding Road」ではアッシュウィン・スード、「The Difficult Kind」ではシェリルの姉キャシー、「Juanita」ではエミルー・ハリスが登場し、ステージに華を添えています。
オーディオ・クオリティ的にはオフィシャル級でありながら、公式盤ではあり得ないド密着の卓直結サウンドが鮮烈な極上サウンドボードです。クオリティ自体が発掘現場の凄味まで伝えている超絶級ボーナス・アルバム。どうぞ、この機会をお見逃しなく！
