ストーンズ専門レーベルmayflowerより、1990年2月24日東京ドーム公演がリリースになります。過去に来日公演が中止になり、メンバー各々の過去から、全員揃っての来日は不可能ではないかと言われていただけに、ローリングストーンズの初来日公演は、普段ロックとは縁遠い人の関心を巻き込んでの大フィーバーとなりました。それも既に25年前のこととなり、当時の熱狂の様子を知る人たちも、既に40代を越えていることでしょう。コンサートは東京ドーム10連続公演という前代未聞の規模で、チケットも1万円と、当時としては破格の高額。そんな中、多くのファンが押し寄せたのはご存知の通りです。

本作は、その10連続公演の8日目、2月24日のコンサートを完全収録しています。ご存知の通りこの日は映像が存在し、その映像に付随した音から数多くのタイトルが排出されたことでも知られます。しかし既発盤はどれも音が真ん中に寄ったダンゴ上のもので、サウンドボードとはいえバランスの悪いものがほとんどでした。本作は、サンプルを聴いていただければわかるとおり、音が荒い感じは同様ですが、バランスが従来にくらべ非常に均整なサウンドボード音源なのです。コンサートから四半世紀あまり、ようやく本公演の決定盤たりうるものがリリースされたと言えるでしょう。
