In the afterglow of the popular “NASTY MUSIC”, it is no exaggeration to say that the 1972 tour masterpiece “PHILADELPHIA SPECIAL” will reappear. Both of the past two releases were instant kills, but this time too, it was not a straight recurrence of the past release, but a third try version. In terms of sound quality, the LP reprint version “Firaspe” seemed to have reached the point of arrival in the previous version. The previous version captured the unique analog sound and tape-like texture brilliantly, and it was even more popular than the first version.
This is not limited to “Firaspe”, but I can’t deny the feeling that LP items with rare sound sources released in the 80’s choose compatibility with the record needles on the market as of 2022. As proof of that, in the past two “Firaspe”, there was a sound that traces the board “Go” when it comes to the silent part. For example, in the opening cheers and the quiet part before Mick’s MC started, I could definitely hear such a sound. In a sense, it is a sound that can be said to be a proof of reprint from LP.
Another is the phenomenon that the sound becomes distorted as it approaches the circumference of the record. This is known as a noticeable symptom of the aging of records, but this is also likely to occur in rare LPs in the 80’s, and in fact in the previous “Filaspe”, “Street Fighting” was recorded around the circumference of the record. Man”, such symptoms appeared slightly.

However, “NASTY MUSIC” released last week had no such symptoms. This can be said to be the result of the difference in quality between the vinyl used in the 70’s and the vinyl used in the 80’s. Of course, the overall quality of vinyl from the 80’s should have been better, but the fact that it’s aged is combined with it, and the compatibility with today’s record needles appears.
Therefore, when releasing the third version this time, we used a different record stylus than before, a stylus chip stylus that is said to be optimal for eliminating distortion caused by the circumference, and also used a newly obtained version of the board. It was the third try of all.
As a result, the distortion that occurred in the songs heard near the circumference of the record, which was seen in the previous version, and the trace noise of the quiet part that I touched at the beginning, “go”, were also wiped out. Achieved a CD in a cleaner state than the past two versions.
Above all, it may be said that this version adds the final touch that was lacking in the second version, which was extremely good in terms of sound quality. The turbidity of the sounds emanating from the albums mentioned so far has also been removed, and this time as well, you can quickly enjoy the famous albums on CD “Easy Firasupe”. Together with “NASTY MUSIC”, which caused a great response in last week’s release, please spend a wonderful end of the year with this board, which carefully reprinted the masterpiece of the Stones in its heyday from both content and sound quality!

大好評「NASTY MUSIC」の余韻の中にあって、対をなすと言っても過言ではない1972年ツアーの名盤「PHILADELPHIA SPECIAL」が再登場します。過去二回のリリースはいずれも瞬殺だった訳ですが、今回もまた過去のリリースのストレートな再発ではなく、あくまでサード・トライとなるバージョンの登場と相成りました。音質面においては前回のバージョンで到達点を迎えたかに思えたLP復刻版「フィラスぺ」。独特のアナログの音、あるいはテープチックな質感を前回のバージョンが見事に捉えてくれたこともあり、ファースト・バージョン以上に大好評となったのでした。
これは「フィラスぺ」に限らないことですが、80年代にリリースされたレア音源のLPアイテムというのは2022年の現在に出回っているレコード針との相性を選ぶ感が否めませせん。その証拠に過去二回の「フィラスぺ」においては、静音部になると「ゴー」という盤をトレースする音が入ってしまっていたのです。例えばオープニングの歓声とミックのMCが始まる前の静音部において、確かにそうした音が聞こえていました。ある意味ではLPからの復刻の証とも言えた音ではありますが。
もう一つはレコードの円周に近づくにしたがって音が歪んでしまうという現象。これはレコードの経年における顕著な症状としてしられていますが、これもまた80年代のレアLPでは生じやすく、実際に前回の「フィラスぺ」においてもレコードの円周に収録されていた「Street Fighting Man」辺りでそうした症状が若干ながら現れていたのです。

ところが先週リリースされた「NASTY MUSIC」にはそうした症状がみられなかった。これは70年代の盤に使われたビニールと80年代の盤に使われたビニールの質の違いが現れた結果ともいえるでしょう。もちろん、トータルでは80年代のビニールの方が質は良いはずだったのですが、そこに経年という現実が合わさって現在のレコード針との相性が現れてしまう。
そこで今回のサード・バージョンのリリースに際してはそれまでと違うレコード針、円周から生じる歪みの解消に関しては最適と呼ばれるスタイラスチップの針を使用し、さらには盤もまた新たに入手したバージョンを使用してのサード・トライとなったのです。
その甲斐あって前回のバージョンでみられたようなレコードの円周に近いところで聞かれた曲で生じていた歪み、さらには最初に触れた静音部の「ゴー」というトレース・ノイズも一掃され、過去二種類のバージョン以上にクリーンな状態でのCD化を実現。
中でも音質面で極められたセカンド・バージョンに欠けていた最後の一手を加えたのか今回のバージョンだと言えるかもしれません。ここまで挙げてきたような盤から発せられる音の濁りも取り払われ、今回も名盤をCDでサクッと楽しめる「お手軽フィラスぺ」。先週のリリースで大反響を巻き起こした「NASTY MUSIC」と合わせ、絶頂期ストーンズの名盤を内容と音質の両方から丁寧に復刻してみせた本盤で素晴らしい年末をお過ごしください！
