May 17, 1992 Philadelphia recorded the Theater Of The Living Arts performance for 81 minutes on an official level stereo soundboard recording. Recorded the May 1992 live that was on the way to release the masterpiece “The Bridge Between” at the live of Robert Fripp String Quintet, which became a hot topic as a unit including the California Guitar Trio and Trey Gunn. I am. It is a very valuable record at this time when several projects including “Sylvian & Fripp” were in progress at the same time. “The Bridge Between” is recorded based on the live sound source on May 19th and 20th, which will be held immediately after this work, so this work is exactly the vivid sound and activity situation just before the album recording. You can enjoy it. This is a really interesting release because it is a piece that unravels the start time of the activity of “Robert Fripp String Quintet” (hereinafter, R.F.S.Q.), which had no sound source so far and was completely unknown. At that time, not only “Yamanashi Blues”, which became a hot topic, but also some songs not recorded in the album were played, and it is a fulfilling content that fans can not miss, but it is especially called “Chromatic Fantasy”. Bach’s “Chromatic Scale Illusion Fuga in D Minor (BWV.903) is also interesting because all the third movements of the latter half of the original song, which were not recorded in the album, are played.
This superb unit has a short activity period and a very small number of sound sources, so I think this work is a very valuable sound source as an activity record at that time. Not only the recorded contents, but also the sound quality is the best with the sound board recording. Moreover, one performance is completely recorded. This will inevitably become a premier item.

1992年5月17日フィラデルフィアはTheater Of The Living Arts公演をオフィシャル・レベルのステレオ・サウンドボード録音で81分に渡って収録。カリフォルニア・ギター・トリオとトレイ・ガンを含むユニットとして話題となったロバート・フリップ・ストリング・クインテットのライブで名盤「The Bridge Between」をリリースする道程にあった1992年5月のライブを収録しています。「Sylvian & Fripp」をはじめ幾つかのプロジェクトを同時進行させていたこの時期の、大変貴重な記録です。微細なノイズが被る部分もありますが、クリムゾン＆ロバート・フリップ・コレクターにとっては、間違いなく必携の音源です。

「The Bridge Between」は本作の直ぐ後に行われる5月19日と20日のライブ音源が元になって収録されているので、本作はまさに、アルバム収録直前の生々しい音と活動状況が楽しめる。これまで音源が無く、全く不明だった「ロバート・フリップ・ストリング・クインテット」（以下、R.F.S.Q.)の活動開始時期を紐解く一枚となっているだけに、これは実に興味深いリリースと言える。当時、話題となった「Yamanashi Blues」は勿論、アルバム未収録の楽曲も数曲プレイしていて、ファンにとっては聴き逃せない充実した内容となっているが、特に「Chromatic Fantasy」と銘打たれていたバッハの「半音階幻想フーガ・ニ短調(BWV.903)も、アルバムでは収録していなかった原曲後半の第三楽章が全てプレイされており、興味深い。
この極上ユニットは活動期間が短い上に音源数も大変少ないため、本作は当時の活動記録としても非常に価値ある音源だと思う。収録内容は勿論のこと、音質もサウンドボード収録で極上。しかも一公演が完全収録されている。これはプレミア・アイテムとなること必至だろう。
