The first song is a shock. Jesse Johnson’s second album was titled Shockadelica, but the album title song wasn’t on that album. Prince listens to the album before it’s released, and I hear he sent the title song to Jesse for recording. This time, the original version of the cassette tape is out. It’s longer than the 12-inch version. A part to play the guitar while laughing in the latter half of 4 minutes has been added.

The second song, Rebirth Of The Flesh, was talked about as a single long version with a different outro recorded in the Sign of the Times Super Deluxe, but the version recorded here is Camille and It is edited to connect to Play In The Sunshine etc. like the version included in Crystal Ball, but it is 10 seconds longer than that version. There is a part where the tempo is a little slow and the instrument part is long in the middle.

And Just As Long As We’re Together, 1977, a demo given to CBS and Warner to show that Prince can play and produce all the instruments alone. There are 3 versions already, but the demo version with the Prince count at the beginning is the longest. However, the version recorded here is that edit # 1, but the sound has been remastered and improved.

The fourth song is one of several songs produced by Maurice White and others and co-written with Prince by female singer Valerie Carter in the late 70’s.

And the Hard To Get provided to The Rebels, a slightly longer version than the existing one, and the 1981 version together include the longest two-minute version now.

The 7th song is Old Friends 4 Sale, which already had 3 versions. # 1 of them is recorded this time, but the last few seconds of the sound is long, and there is also a little clock hand sound.

And Girls & Boys is an existing alternate take with Wendy’s narrative at the beginning, but the following Life Can Be So Nice is another version I’ve never heard before, ending like an album version but with a reply. As a result, the connection between these two songs can be enjoyed in a very different flow from the album Parade.

And the 10th song is a completely unreleased song “Madhouse” probably recorded at Paisley Park in 1988. It is a jazz instrument that has never appeared in the literature. You can hear Prince’s voice and it’s like a band rehearsal, but there’s no horn like Eric Reese who has to be a Madhouse. Instead, the keyboard is a big feature, whether it’s Prince or Doctor Fink. The bass is also ringing impressively.

The 11th song is also shocking. This is a completely different version of Fantasia Erotica. A conversation like Carmen Electra and Prince is in the beginning and the end. The main part is made up of guitar cutting, and the almost instrumental sound arranged in a funky manner is coolly developed.

The 12th song is Move Me made at Paisley Park on February 6, 1990. It is a complete first appearance. It’s a piano singer sung by Prince, but it was actually co-written during a jam with a band member, and the co-author is said to be David Z. It is also said that this piano is Levi Shisa. So he will be a co-author too.

The 13th song is from My Name Is Prince’s acetate at 9:23, and it seems to be an Original Mix that only had an edit version.

The 14th song is Shy’s remix, Alternate Take. The 15th song is an unreleased instrumental song made in July or August of 2015, and is a version with horns and strings added. The version in which these two are added at the same time is the first appearance.

And the 16th song Dear Michaelandgelo is a prince version without saxophone, unlike the prince version with saxophone included in The Originals, which is two ranks better than the existing one and is a few seconds longer.

It is a version sung by Prince and Sheila of Noon Rendezvous as a bonus. It is a clever compilation of the Prince version of The Originals and the original version of Sheila. It’s not a duet that sings alternately, but they are always singing in unison, but although it doesn’t happen naturally, it’s a smiley version with the feeling that they are singing together.

1曲目は衝撃です。ジェシー・ジョンソンのセカンド・アルバムはShockadelicaというタイトルですが、アルバム・タイトル曲がそのアルバムには収録されていませんでした。プリンスはそのアルバムをリリース前に聴き、勝手にそのタイトル曲を作ってジェシーに収録させろと送ったと聞きます。今回そのカセット・テープのオリジナル・ヴァージョンが世に出ました。12インチのバージョンよりも長いものです。4分後半での笑いながらのギターを弾き捲る部分が追加されています。

2曲目のRebirth Of The Fleshは、サイン・オブ・ザ・タイムズのスーパーデラックスで収録されたアウトロが異なる単独ロング・ヴァージョンが話題になりましたが、しかしここで収録されているヴァージョンは、CamilleやCrystal Ballに入っているヴァージョンのようにPlay In The Sunshine等へ繋がるように編集されているのですが、そのヴァージョンより10数秒長いものです。テンポがほんの少し遅いのと中間でインスト部分が長い箇所があります。

そしてJust As Long As We’re Together、77年、プリンスが一人で楽器全てを演奏、プロデュースも出来ることを示すため、CBS、そしてワーナーに渡したデモ。既存で3ヴァージョンあるのですが、冒頭にプリンスのカウントが入ったデモ・ヴァージョンが最長となっています。しかしここに収録のヴァージョンはそのエディット#1ですが、音がリマスタリングされて良くなってはいます。

4曲目はモーリス・ホワイトらがプロデュースしている女性シンガー、ヴァレリー・カーターが70年代末にプリンスと共作した幾つかの曲の内の一つ。

そしてザ・レベルズに提供されたHard To Get、既存より若干長いヴァージョン、そして81年のヴァージョンは現在一番長い2分ヴァージョンを一緒に収録させています。

7曲目はOld Friends 4 Saleで、既存では3ヴァージョンありました。その内の#1が今回収録されていますが、、最後数秒グワングワンという音が長く、そこに少し時計の針音のようなのも入っています。

そしてGirls & Boysはウェンディの語りが冒頭にある既存のオルタネイト・テイクですが、続くLife Can Be So Niceは今まで聴いたことのない別バージョンで、一度アルバム・ヴァージョンのように終わりますがリプライズが登場し、結果この2曲の繋がりはアルバムParadeとは大きく異なる流れで楽しむことが出来ます。

そして10曲目は88年に恐らくペイズリーパークで録音されたと思われる完全未発表曲「Madhouse」。今までに文献に一切登場していない、ジャズ・インストです。プリンスの声が聴こえ、バンドでのリハーサルのような趣もありますが、マッドハウスならいなければならないエリック・リーズらホーンがいません。その代わりプリンスなのかドクター・フィンクなのかキーボードが大フィチャーされています。ベースも印象的に鳴っています。

11曲目も衝撃です。Fantasia Eroticaの完全別バージョンのテイクです。カルメン・エレクトラとプリンスらしき会話が冒頭とラストに入っています。本編はギター・カッティングでなりファンキーにアレンジされたほぼインストのサウンドがクールに展開しています。

12曲目は90年2月6日にペイズリーパークで作られたMove Me。完全初登場です。プリンスが歌うピアノの弾き語りなのですが、実はバンド・メンバーとのジャム中に共作したもので、共作者はデヴィッド・Zだとされています。またこのピアノがリーヴァイ・シーサーだとも言われています。よって彼も共作者となるでしょう。

13曲目はMy Name Is Princeのアセテートからの9:23のものでエディット・ヴァージョンしか存在していなかったOriginal Mixだと思われます。

14曲目はShyのリミックス、オルタネイト・テイクです。15曲目は15年の7月か8月に作られた未発表インスト曲で、ホーンとストリングスが加えれらているヴァージョンです。この二つが同時に加えられているヴァージョンは初登場です。

そして16曲目Dear Michaelandgeloはオリジナルズに入っているサックスが入ってるプリンス・ヴァージョンとは異なり、サックスがないプリンス・ヴァージョンで、既存より音が2ランク向上、そして数秒長いものです。

ボーナスにNoon Rendezvousのプリンスとシーラの二人が歌っているヴァージョンです。オリジナルズのプリンス・ヴァージョンとシーラのオリジナル・ヴァージョンを巧妙に編集して作られたものです。交互に歌うデュエットではなく、常にユニゾンで二人が歌っているのですが、ハモリは当然起こらないものの二人が仲良く歌っている感じで微笑ましいヴァージョンに仕上がっています。

The popular title Neurotic Graffiti (1CDR) was released in 2021 when Prince’s outtakes began to appear on the market.
