“THE ULTIMATE SIN” released by Ozzy in 1986 is said to have a slightly negative impression as “a work that Ozzy hates” nowadays. However, the content that scrutinized the L.A. metal line that was popular at that time at the highest level brought Ozzy more success than the Randy Rhoad era. In addition, Jake E. Lee’s full-blown talent made both the work and the live special.
The most famous live performance in 1986 was “Monsters of Rock” on August 16th in the UK, and “Kemper Arena” performance in Kansas City, Missouri on April 1st in the United States. Especially the latter has been released as an official video work, and it will be a live familiar to enthusiasts.
However, this official video is not purely featuring performances and shows, and the pros and cons are that “Shot In The Dark” and “The Ultimate Sin”, which can be said to be the highlights in the set list, have been replaced with video clip images. It was a controversial work. For that reason, enthusiasts even say, “If you want to enjoy this live, the radio sound source is better.”
In this work, the radio broadcast source is recorded for more than 70 minutes from the broadcast master of the music program “King Biscuit Flower Hour”. This sound source was once released as Disc 2 of “AGE OF SIN” from the Shades label. However, this time, it appears as the latest remastered version that further refined the original sound source. The sound is clearer and clearer than the previous ones, yet the calm sound is of excellent quality that makes you think “I want you to make a press CD as it is”. Enjoy a special live with a high degree of perfection!

From the opening “Carl Orff” Carmina Burana “” featuring the band introduction, a wonderful sound that surpasses the official burst! As for the sound board sound source of the 1986 live, I enjoyed the above-mentioned “Monsters of Rock” in August with a wonderful sound, but I can say that this is clearly superior in terms of sound punch and realism. In addition, you can enjoy the early stages of the live “Bark At The Moon” and “Suicide Solution”, which were missing there, perfectly in this work. Everyone will be overwhelmed by Jake’s flashy and gorgeous guitar play, especially at “Bark At The Moon”!
The charm of this work is that you can enjoy the “THE ULITAME SIN” number, which had many songs only for this tour, with a perfect stereo line source. From the third song “Never Know Why”, the smash hit “Shot In The Dark” is the best entertainment that vividly reflects the times! Randy Rhoad’s era songs, such as “Mr. Crowley” and “I Don’t Know,” alternated with these songs, and Jake’s original and tricky play will delight you in this one-of-a-kind outfit. ..
The middle part of the live “Killer Of Giants” and “Thank God For The Bomb” with Jake’s guitar solo in between will let you fully enjoy the taste of this organization! In particular, Randy Castillo’s powerful and light drums, both the grandeur of “Killer Of Giants” and the catchiness of “Thank God For The Bomb”, fully appeal to each other. Even in the latter half of “The Ultimate Sin”, his play reproduces the music with a heavier weight than the studio take (of course, the band ensemble such as keyboard and bass, which was difficult to understand in audience recording, is also in the eyes of the listener. It comes to the fore in front of.)
The climax of the live is the familiar “Iron Man”, “Crazy Train” and “Paranoid”! A number of performances that fold up with angry momentum will allow you to fully enjoy the dynamism of Ozzy Live in this era!

In this live, there used to be an air check source for radio broadcasting, but that was a shortened version of about 50 minutes. This work, which allows you to enjoy the perfect live performance with the best sound quality, is definitely a must-listen for all Ozzy fans! In the 70 minutes of this work, “Secret Looser” including the drum solo was cut, so it is not actually “complete recording”. However, the recorded content that gives you an overwhelming sound quality and a high degree of satisfaction boasts an outstanding presence even in the Jake era!
Even if it is made into a press CD as it is, it is a highly recommended sound source that everyone will be satisfied with. This is the one that will entertain Ozzy’s 1986 American tour to the fullest!

オジーが1986年に発表した「THE ULTIMATE SIN」は、現在でこそ「オジーが嫌っている作品」として、ややネガティヴな印象をもって語られています。しかし当時流行のL.A.メタル路線を最も高いと言える水準で突き詰めた内容は、オジーにランディ・ローズ時代以上の成功をもたらしました。さらにジェイク・Ｅ・リーがその才能を全開させた事も、作品・ライヴの双方を特別なものとしました。
その’86年ライヴで特に有名なものが、イギリスでは８月16日の”モンスターズ・オブ・ロック”であり、アメリカでは４月１日のミズーリ州カンザスシティ”ケンパー・アリーナ”公演です。特に後者は公式ビデオ作品としてリリースされており、マニアにはお馴染みのライヴでしょう。
しかしこのオフィシャル映像は純粋に演奏やショウのみをフィーチャーしたものではなく、セットリスト中でも目玉といえる「Shot In The Dark」や「The Ultimate Sin」がビデオ・クリップの映像に差し替えられていたなど、賛否両論ある作品でした。それだけにマニアからは「このライヴを楽しむなら、むしろラジオ音源の方が良い」とすら言われています。
本作ではそのラジオ放送ソースを、音楽番組”キング・ビスケット・フラワー・アワー”の放送用マスターより70分以上にわたって収録しています。この音源はかつてShadesレーベルより「AGE OF SIN」のディスク２としてもリリースされていました。しかし今回は、元音源をさらに磨き上げた最新リマスター・バージョンとしての登場。既発以上にクリアで鮮明、それでいて落ち着きのあるサウンドは「このままプレスCD化してほしい」と思わせる絶品のクオリティ。高い完成度でスペシャルなライヴを満喫させます！

バンド紹介をフィーチャーしたオープニングの「Carl Orff “Carmina Burana”」から、公式を上回る素晴らしいサウンドが炸裂！　’86年ライヴのサウンドボード音源は、前述した８月の”モンスターズ・オブ・ロック”も素晴らしいサウンドで楽しめましたが、こちらは音のパンチやリアルさなど、明らかに格上と断言できます。さらにそちらでは欠落していたライヴの序盤「Bark At The Moon」・「Suicide Solution」も、本作ではバッチリ楽しめます。特に「Bark At The Moon」で繰り広げられる、ジェイクのフラッシーできらびやかなギター・プレイには、誰もが圧倒されてしまうでしょう！
このツアー限りの曲が多かった「THE ULITAME SIN」ナンバーを、完璧なステレオ・ラインソースで楽しめるのも本作の魅力。３曲目に登場する「Never Know Why」から、スマッシュ・ヒットした「Shot In The Dark」は、時代を色鮮やかに反映した最高のエンターテイメント！　「Mr. Crowley 」や「I Don’t Know」など、これらの曲と交互に配置されたランディ・ローズ時代の楽曲も、ジェイクのオリジナリティ溢れるトリッキーなプレイで、この時のみの装いを楽しませます。
ライヴの中盤「Killer Of Giants」と、ジェイクのギターソロを挟んだ「Thank God For The Bomb」は、この編成の旨みをたっぷり味わわせます！　特にランディ・カスティロのパワフルかつ軽妙なドラムは、「Killer Of Giants」の壮大さも、「Thank God For The Bomb」のキャッチーさも、それぞれの魅力を目いっぱいにアピールします。後半の「The Ultimate Sin」でも、彼のプレイはスタジオ・テイク以上の重厚さで楽曲を再現します（もちろんキーボードやベースなど、オーディエンス録音ではもうひとつ判りづらかったバンド・アンサンブルも、聴き手の目の前でありありと浮かび上がります）。
ライヴのクライマックスはおなじみの「Iron Man」に「Crazy Train」そして「Paranoid」！　怒涛の勢いで畳み掛ける演奏の数々は、この時代におけるオジー・ライヴのダイナミズムを最良の形で満喫できるでしょう！

本ライヴでは、かつてラジオ放送のエアチェック・ソースも存在しますが、そちらは約50分の短縮版でした。完全な形のライヴを最高の音質で楽しめる本作は、間違いなく全てのオジー・ファン必聴です！　本作の70分間では、ドラムソロを含む「Secret Looser」がカットされているため、実は”完全収録”ではありません。しかし圧倒的な音質と高い満足感を味わわせる収録内容は、ジェイク時代でも飛び抜けた存在感を誇ります！
このままプレスCD化されても、誰もが納得するであろう大推薦の音源。オジーの1986年アメリカツアーをとことん楽しませる一本です！
