2008, the first year of the tour after the release of the last album “DIG OUT YOUR SOUL”, was broadcast on TV from the warm-up before the start of the tour due to an aggressive promotion strategy, and professional shot images throughout the year. I am blessed with sound board recording. Among them, Copenhagen on November 8 was a famous sound source and a famous performance. On this day there is a stereo sound board recording of the highest quality broadcast from a local FM radio station.
There is no doubt that such an excellent sound source will not be released, and the masterpiece released in the rear tie is GODFATHER’s “PRAY FOR THE LIGHT”. Although it was a press CD and quickly reigned as one of the representative masterpieces of the 2008 tour, it was released more than 10 years ago. If time has passed so far, it should be no surprise that a copy board with a press board was produced, but in the end it has not been released and it continues to this day. Therefore, “PRAY FOR ~” continued to be the best title.

Such “PRAY FOR ～” was not without problems. First of all, because it was GOD FATHER, the broadcast could not be made into a CD obediently, and there was a hard and flashy equalization that seems to be the same label. However, since it was broadcast in the digital age, such processing was not bad.
Also, “PRAY FOR ~” cut all the announcements that were included at the time of broadcasting, but this is the songwriter. During the broadcast, I wondered if it would be announced in a scene unrelated to the live, but the announcement appears during the live. “To Be Where There’s Life” was good because there was no MC yet and the SE was just playing before the performance started, but in “The Masterplan”, Noel’s MC was heard behind the announcement, and ” Immediately after the performance of “Morning Glory”.
“PRAY FOR ~” was skillfully cutting these scenes, but it also had the negative effect of cutting Noel’s MC that was heard in “The Masterplan”, and “Morning”. In “Glory”, the helicopter SE that is played every time after the performance is cut off is quite uncomfortable.

The 2008 Copenhagen radio broadcast, which will be released for the first time in a while, is not an easy copy of the GOD FATHER board, but a complete version that captures such announcements without omission. However, since the live scene was shown in the back of the announcement, it is natural that even if you are not a maniac, you will want to have it in the full version of the broadcast.
In addition, it is also a stereo sound board recording with excellent sound quality, so there is no equalization like the GODFATHER board, and the point is that you can enjoy it with the original sound of a refreshing broadcast.
In addition, this broadcast has a phenomenon that noise sometimes enters on the left channel, and the most prominent one is “Rock’n’ Roll Star”. It is speculated that this was clearly a problem from the time of broadcasting brought about by the technology of 2008, but we removed them as much as possible in this limited press CD release. And on this day, the wonderfulness of the performance content is also a big point. First and foremost, Liam is in very good shape, and every song has a powerful song. The sound quality is so good that it sounds even more striking. Even in such a year, he sang well from the opening of the live to the finale on this day, which also solidified the reputation of the radio sound source of the day.
Two months have passed since the tour started, and the performances of bands such as Noel have been rock solid. ラスト・アルバム「DIG OUT YOUR SOUL」リリース後のツアー最初の年である2008年は積極的なプロモーション戦略によってツアー開始前のウォームアップからテレビで放送されるほどでして、一年を通してプロショット映像やサウンドボード録音に恵まれています。そんな中でも名音源かつ名演だったのが11月8日のコペンハーゲン。この日は地元のFMラジオ局から放送された最高音質のステレオ・サウンドボード録音が存在します。
そんな優良音源がリリースされないはずもなく、リアタイでリリースされていた名盤がGODFATHERの「PRAY FOR THE LIGHT」。プレスCDということもあって瞬く間に2008年ツアーを代表する名盤の一つに君臨したものの、それも今や10年以上前のリリース。これほどまで時間の経過があればプレス盤によるコピー盤が生み出されたとしてもおかしくないはずが、結局リリースされず今に至っています。よって「PRAY FOR～」がベスト・タイトルであり続けました。

そんな「PRAY FOR～」は問題がない訳ではありませんでした。まずGODFATHERということから放送を素直にCD化するはずもなく、そこは同レーベルらしい硬質で派手めなイコライズが加えられていた。もっともデジタル時代の放送ですのでそうした処理も悪くはなかったのですが。
また「PRAY FOR～」は放送時に入っていたアナウンスをすべてカットしていたものの、これが曲者。放送の合間、ライブとは関係のない場面でアナウンスされるのかと思いきや、ライブの最中にアナウンスが現れるのです。まだMCもなく演奏が始まる前のSEが流れるだけの場面だった「To Be Where There’s Life」はよかったのですが、「The Masterplan」ではアナウンスの後ろでノエルのMCが聞かれますし、さらに「Morning Glory」の演奏終了直後にも。
これらの場面を「PRAY FOR～」は巧みにカットしていた訳ですが、それによって「The Masterplan」で聞こえていたノエルのMCもカットされてしまうという弊害が生まれてしまいましたし、「Morning Glory」では演奏が終わった後で毎回流れされるヘリコプターのSEがばっさりカットされた違和感はかなりのもの。

今回久々にリリースされる2008年コペンハーゲンのラジオ放送はもちろんGODFATHER盤の安易なコピーではなく、そのようなアナウンスも寸分漏らさず捉えられた完全版。確かにアンコール前で入るアナウンスなどを聞けば英語以外の言語という違和感があるのも確かで、先の盤がそれを奇麗にカットしてみせたのも理解できる行為。しかしアナウンスのバックでもライブの場面が流されていただけに、マニアでなくとも放送の完全版で持っておきたくなるのは当然かと。
おまけに音質の非常に優れたステレオ・サウンドボード録音でもありますので、GODFATHER盤にあったようなイコライズがなく、スッキリとした放送の原音で楽しめるというのもポイントが高い。
さらにこの放送は左チャンネルでたまにノイズが入るという現象があり、中でも顕著だったのが「Rock ‘n’ Roll Star」。これは明らかに2008年のテクノロジーがもたらした当時の放送時点からの問題であったのだと推測されますが、今回の限定プレスCDリリースに際してはそれらを可能な限り削除。元々レベルの高いサウンドボード録音をさらに磨きあげました。

そしてこの日は演奏内容の素晴らしさも大きなポイント。まず何と言ってもリアムの調子が非常に良く、どの曲でも力強い歌いっぷりが冴えわたっている。音質が非常に良いのでなおさら際立って聞こえるのです。2008年のリアムはスマートになった当時の容姿が物語っていたように、それまでになくツアー中の節制を務めたこともあって「調子の悪い日」というのが少ない。そんな一年の中でも、この日はライブのオープニングからフィナーレまでしっかり歌い切ってくれており、それがまたこの日のラジオ音源の定評を確固たるものとしていました。
ノエルを始めとしたバンドの演奏もツアー開始から二か月が経過して盤石の域。そもそも「DIG OUT YOUR SOUL」ツアーはドラマーのクリス・シャーロックが加入してそれまで以上に強靭なライブ・サウンドを作り上げていただけに、ツアー開始当初と比べても一段と力強くなった演奏は圧巻。そして観客の盛り上がりも素晴らしく、リアムをして「top crowd」と言わしめただけのことはある。そんな会場の雰囲気と骨太な2008年ならではの演奏が絶妙なバランスで捉えられた名音源。ようやく「PRAY FOR THE LIGHT」以来となる新たな決定版が誕生します！

After all, the sound image is very close, especially Liam’s singing voice is surprisingly close. At first glance, is it a rough mix sound board before the radio broadcast? A powerful sound image that makes you feel like you are illusioning.
Moreover, the level of cheers of the surroundings is low, and it is barely discernible from the occasional clapping of the surroundings, saying “This is an audience recording …”. A wonderful recording condition that can be asserted that if it were not for radio broadcasting, it would have reigned as one of the top-class audience recordings on the 2008 tour.
Of course, no matter how good the sound quality is, as long as there is a radio broadcast, it is a separate sound source that will be a material for maniacs, but it is true that maniacs can enjoy another side that documents that radio broadcast from the audience. none.

2008年オアシスを代表する名ライブ音源の一つである11月8日のコペンハーゲンですが、この日は定番のラジオ放送がある一方でオーディエンス録音も存在しています。何しろ定番音源が絶大な日ですので、マニアの間でも完全に見過ごされた感のあるオーディエンス版なのですが、その音質は凄まじいレベル。
何しろ音像が非常に近く、中でもリアムの歌声が驚くほど近い。パッと聞いた感じではラジオ放送の前のラフミックスなサウンドボードでは？と錯覚しそうになるほど大迫力な音像。
なおかつ周囲の歓声のレベルも低く、たまに入る周りの手拍子から「これ、オーディエンス録音だ…」とかろうじて判別できるもの。もしラジオ放送がなければ2008年ツアーにおけるオーディエンス録音の中でもトップクラスに君臨できたであろうと断言できる素晴らしい録音状態。
もちろん、いくら音質が秀でていようともラジオ放送が存在する以上はマニア向け資料となってしまう別音源という訳なのですが、確かにマニアならあのラジオ放送を客席からドキュメントしたアナザーサイドが楽しめること間違いなし。

何が面白いって、放送に際して客席にもマイクを向けて臨場感をキャッチしていたラジオ音源に対し、何とこちらの方が周囲は静かに聞こえてしまうから驚き。それほどまで録音ポジションが優れていたということの証かと。
例えば「To Be Where There’s Life」が始まると周囲で演奏に合わせた手拍子が起こりますが、ここが一番オーディエンス録音らしい場面であり、いかに迫力のある別格の音質であったのかを思い知らされる場面でしょう。

一方マニアックなメリットとしてはラジオ放送でアナウンスが入ってしまう「The Masterplan」前でのノエルのMCがここでは余計な声に邪魔されずに聞き通せるという。おまけに放送よりも周囲が静かなものだから、よりクリアーかつオンに聞き取れてしまうというもの驚き。この場面だけを聞いてもサウンドボードかと錯覚しそうになります。
そんな「The Masterplan」はラジオ放送でも客席からの大合唱が伝わってきましたが、ここでも演奏の奥からそれが聞こえてくるというバランスにも驚き。テーパーの周囲で合唱が一切起きていないことが功を奏したのでした。
