Recognized by Emperor Ozzy Osbourne, MOTLEY CRUE in 1984 slammed wild LA metal all over the United States. Introducing a new excavation live album where you can experience the fierce scene.
It is “March 13, 1984 Albuquerque performance” that is imbued with such a work. It is the burning audience recording. Speaking of “SHOUT AT THE DEVIL Tour”, it was a time when legendary festivals such as US Festival and MONSTERS OF ROCK appeared one after another, and at our shop, the press masterpiece “SAN ANTONIO 1983 (Zodiac 405)” of the sound board is also familiar. Let’s pull them in and first imagine the position from the schedule at that time.

This is the 1983/1984 MOTLEY CRUE. We had a thorough national tour of well over 100 performances, and among them, “North America # 4” was also the undercard of Ozzy’s “BARK AT THE MOON Tour”. The Albuquerque performance of this work was the 44th concert.
This work recorded at such a show is truly a burning and powerful audience. The meaning of “burning” is both enthusiasm and enthusiasm. In terms of sound quality, the core is also a powerful and squeaky type, and even the Nikki Sixx bass has a vivid attack sound. However, at the same time, the sound of the hall becomes hot air and blows out from the speaker so that it is dragged by the momentum of the core. No, of course, it’s physically the same as room temperature, but with the fierce performance, I feel “heat” and “pressure” on my face.
And the enthusiasm surrounding the performance is also amazing. そんな本作に吹き込まれているのは「1984年３月13日アルバカーキ公演」。その灼熱オーディエンス録音です。“SHOUT AT THE DEVIL Tour”と言えば、USフェスティバルやMONSTERS OF ROCKといった伝説フェスへの出演が相次いだ時期で、当店ではサウンドボードのプレス名盤『SAN ANTONIO 1983（Zodiac 405）』もお馴染み。それらも引っくるめ、まずは当時のスケジュールからポジションをイメージしてみましょう。

これが1983年／1984年のMOTLEY CRUE。100公演を優に超える徹底的な全米ツアーを行ったわけですが、その中でも「北米#4」はオジーの“BARK AT THE MOON Tour”の前座でもあった。本作のアルバカーキ公演は、その44公演目にあたるコンサートでした。
そんなショウで記録された本作は、まさに灼熱の強力オーディエンス。「灼熱」の意味は熱狂と熱演の両面。音質的には芯も力強くグイグイと迫ってくるタイプでして、ニッキー・シックスのベースさえアタック音もブリブリと鮮やか。ただ、それと同時に芯の勢いに引きずられるようにホール鳴りが熱風となってスピーカーから吹き出してくる。いや、もちろん物理的には室温と同じなのですが、演奏の苛烈ぶりも相まって顔面に「熱」や「圧」を感じるのです。
そして、その演奏を囲む熱狂も凄い。演奏中は一心不乱に頭を振っているのか静かなのですが、曲が終わるや間欠泉のように凄まじい大歓声が吹き上がる。観客たちはオジー目当てに来場したのかも知れませんが、本作の盛り上がりはヘッドライナーそのもの。それも、必殺のヒット曲が畳みかけられるアンコールかのような凄まじさ。「アルバカーキって南米だっけ!?」などと、一般常識まで疑いたくなるカオスな熱狂が渦巻いているのです。
もちろん本当はヒット・パレードではなく、美味しい初期レパートリーが濃縮還元されたショウ。最後に、その内容も整理しておきましょう。
