Miles items from “Stargazers”, a label that is currently attracting attention as the highest peak of Miles Davis’ collector’s label, and also supports the creation of bonus discs for “Voodoo Down”.

Recorded a live performance commemorating the opening of the club “Indigo Blues” in 1988. This sound source is a collection of performances of “Indigo Blues” from those that were broadcast in a program called “Miles Davis Radio Project” that was broadcasted later, about 7 times in about 8 hours. This sound source was originally famous for its high sound quality, but as mentioned above, since it is an edited version, there are some unnatural connections between songs, and in this version, it has been carefully reconnected and improved. The narration of Danny Glover, an actor who worked as a DJ on the radio, is also recorded without cutting, but the volume was slightly too loud for the performance, so it was turned down so that the focus does not shift from the performance. 現在マイルス・デイヴィスのコレクターズ・レーベル最高峰として注目を集めているレーベル、”ヴードゥー・ダウン”のボーナス・ディスク作成などサポートもしている本レーベル“スターゲイザーズ”よりマイルスのアイテムが登場です。

1988年にクラブ”インディゴ・ブルース”のオープンを記念して行われたライヴを収録。この音源は後に放送された『マイルス・デイヴィス・ラジオ・プロジェクト』という全7回約8時間のプログラムで放送されたものから“インディゴ・ブルース”での演奏を集めたもの。元より高音質で有名だったこの音源ですが、前述の通り編集版であるため曲の繋ぎがやや不自然なところもあり、今回のバージョンでは丁寧に繋ぎ直し改善されています。ラジオでDJを務めた俳優のダニー・グローバーのナレーションもカットせず収録してありますが、ややボリュームが演奏に対して大きすぎたため絞ってあり、演奏の方から焦点がずれない嬉しいリマスタリング・バージョンとなっています。
既にジャズの帝王として君臨していたマイルスがクラブのような箱で演奏することは稀で、曲間でもメンバーを紹介したり曲を紹介したりと貴重なスピーチを聴くことができます。故中山康樹氏もかつて「マイルス・ファンに初めてブートを進めるなら」に対する回答の候補に挙げていた超名音源です。マニアはもちろん、ブート初心者の方にもお勧めです。
