MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP announced the long-awaited visit to Japan, accompanied by Ronnie Romero, who boasts the strongest singing ability of all time. The latest pro shots that burn the expectations are decided to be released at the same time.
This work is the first of two consecutive releases. This is a multi-camera pro shot of “June 18, 2022 GRASPOP METAL MEETING”. The other day, the live album “SPEYER 2022 (Shades 1525)” featuring Robin McAuley was well received, but this time the singer is Ronnie Romero. The official member photo is also Romero, and he is the official singer of the current MSG. It seems that Macquarie helped only the dozens of performances in between. At the end of July, there are still two live performances with Macquarie, but this two-series is a professional shot born from the two performances of “Europe # 2” where Romero temporarily joined. This work is the MSG version. Although the live mix is ​​very fresh, the image quality, sound quality, and camera work are perfect “official grade” quality. これが2021年／2022年のマイケル・シェンカー。『SPEYER 2022』リリース時より４公演増え、遂に日本も含まれることになりました。2021年に初めてロメロとのショウが実現（上記『WOLVERHAMPTON 2021（Shades 1442）』でお楽しみ頂けます）し、2022年もほとんどのショウでロメロがフロント。公式メンバー写真もロメロですし、現行MSGの正式シンガーは彼。合間の十数公演だけマッコーリーがヘルプした……という事のようです。７月末にはまだマッコリーとのライヴが２公演残っていますが、今回の２連作は、それに先だってロメロが一時合流した「欧州#2」の２公演から生まれたプロショット。本作の“GRASPOP METAL MEETING”出演は、その初日にあたるステージでした。
“GRASPOP METAL MEETING”は欧州有数の有名フェスであり、その模様はプロショットで配信。さまざまなバンドの極上映像が話題になっています。本作は、そのMSG版。いかにも生配信なミックスが生々しいものの、画質・音質・カメラワークも完璧な「オフィシャル級」クオリティ。現在、何種類かのマスター我で回っていますが、本作はベスト・クオリティ版からDVD化されており、もはや四の五の言っても仕方なく「もう観ちゃってください！」としか言い様のない決定盤なのです。

……と、このようになっています。おおよそ美味しいクラシックスで組み立てつつ、そこにリリースされたばかりの新作『UNIVERSAL』から「A King Has Gone」も織り交ぜたスタイル。ロメロは単に歌が巧いだけでなく、ゲイリー・バーデンを思わせるハスキーな声質も美点。『HELLFEST 2022』で観られない「Cry For The Nations」も美味しい１曲です（実はグラハムの難曲を歌いこなすのも衝撃だったのですが、今回は『黙示録』ナンバーは披露してくれませんでした）。ショート・セットながらもちゃんと貴重な「Looking For Love」「Red Sky」を残してくれており、早くもオフィシャル級プロショットで観られるわけです。
そして、最大のポイントは名曲群を綴る大名演……とは、ちょっと言いがたい。マイケルもロメロもミスが多く、特に「Lights Out」では崩壊寸前にまで大混乱しています。ショートセットに油断してリハ不足だったのか、あるいはモニターにトラブルでも起きているのか。いずれにせよ『WOLVERHAMPTON 2021』が素晴らしかっただけに復活してくれると信じておりますが……。
