Michael Schenker is coming to Japan for the first time in four years as part of his 50th anniversary tour. Expectations for the long-awaited performance in Japan are burning in front of us, and three superb live albums will be released at the same time!
This work is the final installment of such a trilogy. It is the best audience recording of “October 25, 2022 Glenside Performance”. Before the new corona pandemic, Michael visited Japan almost every year, but it’s actually been 12 years since he came to Japan under the name of MSG. For that reason, the show content is also attracting attention. Just before Japan was a North American tour, and the other day, the first report video gift “WARRENDALE 2022” was very popular. This week’s trilogy is a follow-up to “WARRENDALE 2022”, and it is an updated version of the tour’s masterpiece. This is the 2022 North American/Japan tour. Currently, the North American tour is over, and the only schedule left for 2022 is the performance in Japan. The Glenside performance of this work was the 22nd performance of the “North America” tour, and it was a countdown concert until coming to Japan.
This work recorded at such a show is exactly the best audience recording. Among the three consecutive works this time, I feel the hall ringing, but the core is still on and very thick, the details are vivid, and the ringing creates dynamism and does not give a sense of distance. Three amazing high-quality sounds were born in just one week, which would normally be one on the tour.
The reason for such a sound is probably the skill of the recording artist. After all, this work was created by “bcironmaiden”, who is famous as a modern master. This taper is also known as a user of the famous “Schoeps MK4’s”, and as the name suggests, he is a world master who has made the best masterpieces of the latest tours with various artists, mainly in the HR / HM series. Although the number of works has decreased since the new corona pandemic, WISHBONE ASH’s “SELLERSVILLE 2022 (Uxbridge 1632)” and Yngwie Malmsteen’s “GLENSIDE 2021 (Shades 1437)” were very popular.
What is drawn with such a master sound is a treasure chest of masterpieces dyed with the heroic voice of contemporary singer Ronnie Romero. To be frank, the set is common to all three works this week, but let’s repost it here for the time being.

… and it looks like this. While showing off new songs, the set that lined up the 70’s / 80’s big songs is gorgeous. And the wonderful thing about Romero singing it. The husky voice quality does not feel uncomfortable even in the number of Gary Barden era, and the powerful singing like a man gives a dignified tone to the UFO number. And the difficult song “Assault Attack” is like Graham Bonnet … No, the singing ability to sing more than himself. I can’t say anything about his ability to compose, but I think he is the No. 1 live singer of all time.
Following “Farve4”, “bcironmaiden” was challenging the latest MSG to record. It became a transparent competition whether it is unusually attracting the attention of classic rock fans. It is the real pleasure of audience recording that not only band performance but also the difference in taper individuality becomes fun.
