“LIVE FROM ARLINGTON, TX” is an experimental project that broadcasts live theater concerts with full pro shots of the latest “M72 World Tour”. The impact master is now in stock from overseas.
This work features two consecutive performances at one venue. This is a multi-camera professional shot of “August 18 + 20, 2023 Arlington Performance”. METALLICA has always opened up new horizons in the music business with innovative projects. Up until now, there have been theatrical works such as the documentary “SOME KIND OF MONSTER” and the drama version “THROUGH THE NEVER,” but this time it’s a straight live video. Live performance pro shots similar to TV broadcasts and internet distribution were broadcast with a delay by satellite. It was released in more than 50 countries around the world, and in Japan it was shown in 36 theaters nationwide. Since the movie hasn’t come to Japan in 10 years, I’m sure many people have been able to go to the theater. This work is a DVD that allows you to enjoy the full live performance of such a groundbreaking theater work “LIVE FROM ARLINGTON, TX” at home.
So, what is the position of the show that was screened? In order to know more about their current situation, let’s first review the overall picture of the currently ongoing “M72 World Tour.”

This is the 2023/2024 METALLICA that has been announced so far. The 2nd Arlington performance of this work was the 5th and 6th performance of “North America #1”. These two performances were each released in theaters, but this work is a professional shot video that was leaked in its entirety. It seems that it was not stolen at the theater, but was converted to DVD directly from the original digital master. Therefore, the quality is completely official, super high quality. It seems that the merchandise and charity announcements that were played endlessly at the beginning of the screening have been cut, but you can enjoy the main part of the live performance in its entirety (a slightly shorter video of the venue before the performance is included).
And, the live performance was a delicious full set over two days, with not a single song being duplicated. Let’s summarize the two performances here.

…and it looks like this. For convenience, I tried to categorize it by “New songs/Cliff/Jason/Other”, but the balance is exactly the same on the first and second day. The first day was “MASTER OF PUPPETS”, and the second day was “RIDE THE LIGHTNING”, and it was a culmination set that covered his glorious career. Especially rare are the new songs of “72 SEASONS”, especially “Too Far Gone?” and “Shadows Follow”, which are super rare songs that were performed live for the third time.
It is not perfect, as some of the intro of “Creeping Death” on the first day was skipped, and “You Must Burn!” on the second day was redone due to a performance mistake, but that is also the truth of the leaked master. If “LIVE FROM ARLINGTON, TX” is made into an official product, these parts may be modified, but this work is “as is.” A super-high-quality professional shot that allows you to quickly enjoy popular theatrical works at home. This 2-disc set will be released as an emergency release, highly recommended not only for those who were unlucky enough to be able to go to the theater, but also for those who want to relive the excitement of being at the theater.

これが現在までに公表されている2023年／2024年のMETALLICA。本作のアーリントン２公演は「北米#1」の５公演目・６公演目にあたるコンサートでした。この２公演はそれぞれ劇場公開されたわけですが、本作はそのプロショット映像がそっくりそのまま流出したもの。劇場で盗み撮りしたわけではなく、大元のデジタル・マスターからダイレクトにDVD化されているようです。そのため、クオリティは完全オフィシャル級の超・極上品。上映冒頭で延々と流されていたグッズやチャリティの告知はカットされているようですが、ライヴ本編はフルで楽しめます（開演前の場内映像はやや短めながら収録されています）。

……と、このようになっています。便宜的に「新曲／クリフ／ジェイソン／その他」で分類してみましたが、初日も２日目もバランスはまったく同じ。初日は『MASTER OF PUPPETS』、２日目は『RIDE THE LIGHTNING』を厚くしつつ、栄光のキャリアを網羅した集大成セットでした。特にレアなのは『72 SEASONS』の新曲で、特に「Too Far Gone?」と「Shadows Follow」はライヴ３回目という激レア曲です。
初日「Creeping Death」のイントロが一部飛んでいたり、２日目「You Must Burn!」が演奏ミスからやり直しされたりと完全無欠ではありませんが、それもこれも流出マスターの真実。もし『LIVE FROM ARLINGTON, TX』がオフィシャル商品化される際には、こうしたパートは修正されるのかも知れませんが、本作は「そのまんま」です。話題の劇場作品をいち早く家庭で楽しめる話題の超極上プロショット。不運にも劇場へ行けなかった方はもちろん、劇場での興奮を思い出したい方にも大推薦の２枚組が緊急リリース決定です。
