Madhouse, a jazz unit where Eric Leeds thinks of all the saxophone phrases at Prince’s life and all the instrumental parts are by Prince. Also includes rare albums, 8 and 16, and unreleased 24. And Complete Madhouse 1 (3CDR), which also covers the 12-inch version, Outtakes, and Letter 4 Miles dedicated to Miles, and Eric Leeds’ rare solo album, 17, and Complete Madhouse 2 (which also includes the New Power Madhouse album). 3CDR), and a special set with Rehersal & Mixes (1CDR) from the Pure Funk label, which has the best sound quality in the rehearsal of Madhouse’s sound board.

* Madhouse –Rehearsals & Mixes (1CDR)
A very rare title packed with only Prince’s jazz project, Madhouse related sound sources. The highlight is the rehearsal of the first half of the recording in this item, and the original rehearsal using the original DAT tape of the rehearsal sound source that has been on the market so far. Eric Leeds isn’t there. It seems that Prince was trying to overcome the tragedy after Miles’ death and form NPG Horns to make a Madhouse-type jazzy band, but in November 1991, he did not let them play Madhouse’s songs. It’s a lesser-known episode, but it’s definitely worth listening to as a sound source. A remix of this core rehearsal sound source is recorded with Pure Funk’s original remastering. Although it is a popular release, it is indispensable only for the surprising sound quality that the scales can be taken from the ears.

プリンスのジャズプロジェクト、マッドハウス関連の音源だけが詰まった大変珍しいタイトル。このアイテムに収録の前半のリハーサル、この音源が今まで出回っていたリハーサル音源の元DAT テープをを使ったオリジナルのリハーサルとなっているのが目玉。そこにはエリック・リーズはいません。確かにプリンスがマイルスの死後、その悲劇を超えNPG ホーンズを結成、Madhouse タイプのジャジーなバンドを作ろうとしていたようですが、91年の11月12月にまさかMadhouse の楽曲を彼らに演奏させていたとは、あまり有名ではないエピソードですが、音源としては大変聴くべき価値のあるものと言えます。このコアなリハーサル音源にリミックスをPure Funk 独自のリマスタリングで収録。通なリリースながら、耳から鱗が取れるほどの驚き音質だけに必携です。
