The “SOMEWHERE IN TIME” era, which is attracting attention even with the latest tour “THE FUTURE PAST Tour”. A new excavation master that allows you to experience the scene at that time is now available.
Two performances at the same venue are imbued with this work. It is a full audience recording set of “March 21/22, 1987 Toronto Performance”. Speaking of “Somewhere on Tour”, it is a missing link without an official work. Therefore, we have archived many masterpiece live albums at our shop. First of all, let’s look back from the whole tour together with the masterpiece of each leg.

This is the overall picture of “Somewhere on Tour”. It was a simple composition with Europe, the main battlefield, in 1986 and an overseas expedition such as North America / Japan in 1987. The number of performances was the largest in the “North America” leg, and many masterpiece live albums have been left to reflect it. Let’s focus on the “North American” dates here and take a closer look.

There are a lot of masterpieces, including 3 titles of press masterpieces, but the 2 performances of this work in Toronto were the 51/52 performances in the latter half of the concert. For such two performances, the new excavation master after a long time is a hot topic. Not only at the same venue, but also with the same equipment / continuous recording by the same recording artist collection, both are products directly digitized from the original master cassette.
Such a work has a powerful sound that is powerful but straight. While sucking in the sound that seems to be an audience, there is a rushing power in the core that penetrates the middle, and it is approaching in front of you. As expected, there is a sense of unity that penetrates the two performances because there is only the same venue and the same equipment, but there are also differences in individuality depending on the position. The first day (DISC 1-2) is a little distant, but it has a good balance from high to heavy bass, making it very easy to listen to. On the other hand, on the second day (DISC 3-4), it seems that the stage is close, and the powerful performance sound hits. It’s too powerful, so it’s a bit chatty, but it’s gradually getting better as the show progresses.
And the enthusiasm that is unique to the heyday is the burning passion of such musical tones. Both performances are very exciting, as if they were in South America. However, it is wonderful because it does not become difficult to listen even with just that enthusiasm. The performance sound on the first day (DISC 1-2) has a tolerant power that envelops the enthusiasm, and the thick performance on the second day (DISC 3-4) is powerful as if crushing the enthusiasm of the scene.
A full show of “Somewhere on Tour”, which was a treasure trove of precious songs even in the 80’s, is depicted with such real and powerful sound. If you’ve read this article, it should be familiar, but let’s organize the set here.

“Somewhere on Tour 1986/1987”, which was sandwiched between the official “Resurrection of the Dead” and “Maiden England” and did not remain an official work. According to Steve Harris, “I wanted to shoot, but Rod Smallwood didn’t allow it,” so it’s a hot spot in the heyday when you can’t expect to be official forever. However, it may be because it was unlucky that it feels fresh even after more than 35 years. A new excavation master who can fully experience such a special tour with ultra-realistic sound for two performances. Please enjoy the 4-disc set to your heart’s content!

Continuous recording by the same venue, the same equipment, and the same recording artist collection, both of which were digitized from the original master cassette. The first day (DISC 1-2) has a well-balanced and very easy-to-listen Tanei sound, and the second day (DISC 3-4) is a powerful sound that attacks as if it is close to the stage, as if a powerful performance sound strikes. While it is in the middle of the heyday, you can experience the whole two performances of “SOMEWHERE ON TOUR”, which can still be tasted fresh because the official work is dead.

話題の最新ツアー“THE FUTURE PAST Tour”でも注目を集めている『SOMEWHERE IN TIME』時代。その当時の現場を体験できる新発掘マスターが登場です。
そんな本作に吹き込まれているのは同会場の２公演。「1987年３月21日／22日トロント公演」のフル・オーディエンス録音セットです。“Somewhere on Tour”と言えば、オフィシャル作品のないミッシング・リンク。そのため、当店でも数々の傑作ライヴアルバムでアーカイヴでしてきました。まずは各レッグの代表作とも併せ、ツアー全景から振り返ってみましょう。

……と、このようになっています。プレス名盤３タイトルを始め、錚々たる名作が並んでいますが、本作のトロント２公演はそのどれよりも後期の51／52公演目にあたるコンサートでした。そんな２公演は、久々の新発掘マスターが話題。同会場なだけでなく同機材／同録音家コレクションによる連続録音で、双方とも大元マスター・カセットからダイレクトにデジタル化された銘品なのです。
そんな本作は力強いが真っ直ぐに届くパワフル・サウンド。いかにもオーディエンスらしい鳴りを吸い込みつつ、そのド真ん中を貫く芯に突進力があり、グイグイと目の前に迫ってくる。さすがに同会場・同機材だけあって２公演を貫く統一感もあるものの、ポジションによる個性の違いもある。初日（DISC 1-2）はやや距離がある反面、高音から重低音までのバランスが良く、非常に聴きやすい。それに対して２日目（DISC 3-4）はステージ間近なのか、強力な演奏音が叩きつけるように襲いかかってくる。あまりにも強力なためにややビビリ気味だったりもするのですが、それもショウが進むにつれて少しずつ整っていきます。
そして、そんな楽音を炙るように熱しているのが全盛期ならではの熱狂。２公演ともえらく盛り上がっており、まるで南米かのよう。ただ、それだけの熱狂でも聴きづらくならないから素晴らしい。初日（DISC 1-2）の演奏音にはその熱狂を包み込むような包容力があり、２日目（DISC 3-4）は極太な演奏は現場の熱狂を押しつぶすかのように強力なのです。
そんなリアル＆パワー・サウンドで画かれるのは、80年代でも貴重曲の宝庫だった“Somewhere on Tour”のフルショウ。本稿に目を留められた方にはお馴染みとは思いますが、ここでセットを整理しておきましょう。
