No way, no way to come here and create a live album of the tour’s masterpiece. A new official-class decision board that renews the highest peak of the 2022 edition “LEGACY OF THE BEAST Tour” is now available!
“Newark performance on October 21, 2022” is imbued in this work. It is the super superb audience recording. Currently, they have just completed the latest tour after the new corona pandemic, but they have already announced the new tour “THE FUTURE PAST Tour” next year. This is the schedule for 2022/2023 that has been announced so far. When I reported last time, the schedule for “THE FUTURE PAST Tour” next year was only 12 performances, but now it has more than doubled. Now it’s time for the real tour. Of course, that is next year’s story and this work is “LEGACY OF THE BEAST Tour” to the last. It is a live album of the 21st performance of “North America” ​​leg. This is the second work to report the “North American” leg in our shop, so let’s check the distance from the previous work “HAMILTON 2022 (Shades 1624)” here.

The Newark performance of this work is the fourth performance counted from the end. The final show is vacuum-packed, but the sound is shocking! In the case of the previous work “HAMILTON 2022 (Shades 1624)”, I also said that it was the “tour’s masterpiece”, but it felt like “two major audiences” along with the early masterpiece “KAUNAS 2022 (Shades 1537)”. However, this work surpasses the two giants at once. Along with that top pro shot “ROCK IN RIO BRASIL 2022 (Shades 1601)”, he jumped to the “audience solo champion”.
In fact, the sound of this work is “sound board class”… no, you can call it “completely official class”. The thick core has a tremendous density and there is no sense of scavenging, and even if you listen carefully with headphones, there is no sense of distance at all. That’s why listening side by side with “ROCK IN RIO BRASIL 2022” is no different…or should I say, it surpasses!!! I think it was thought that it was an official class. However, this work is even more vivid and the omission is much better. After listening to this work, I realized that the sound of “ROCK IN RIO BRASIL 2022”, which seemed so perfect, was also a packed mix peculiar to South America.
The “LEGACY OF THE BEAST Tour”, which has continued since 2018, has come to an end due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The once-scheduled performance in Japan ended in a phantom, and we were unable to experience the ultimate Greatest Hits Tour. In our shop, we have introduced many live albums that clear up such regret, but this work is one that reigns at the top. Even if the sound source of the remaining 3 performances comes out from now on, it will be impossible to exceed this work now.
It is a live album that stands side by side with the pro shot “ROCK IN RIO BRASIL 2022”, and from a different point of view, it can be said that it is the “2022 version of the official work NIGHTS OF THE DEAD”. It no longer matters whether it is “sound board or audience” or “official or informal”. A super masterpiece that stands in such a dimension. Please enjoy it to your heart’s content.

これが現在までに公表されている2022年／2023年のスケジュール。前回レポートした際には来年“THE FUTURE PAST Tour”の予定は12公演のみでしたが、現在は２倍以上に増加。いよいよ本格的なツアーになってきました。もちろん、それは来年の話であって本作はあくまで“LEGACY OF THE BEAST Tour”。「北米」レッグ21公演目のライヴアルバムです。当店では「北米」レッグをレポートするのは本作で２作目ですので、ここで前作『HAMILTON 2022（Shades 1624）』との距離感も確認しておきましょう。

本作のニューアーク公演は、終わりから数えて４公演目。まさに最終盤のショウを真空パックしているわけですが、そのサウンドが衝撃！　前作『HAMILTON 2022（Shades 1624）』の際にも「ツアー最高傑作」と申しましたが、それは序盤の名作『KAUNAS 2022（Shades 1537）』と並ぶ「２大オーディエンス」という感じでした。ところが、本作はその２本巨頭を一気に凌駕。あの頂点プロショット『ROCK IN RIO BRASIL 2022（Shades 1601）』と並ぶ「オーディエンスの単独王者」に躍り出たのです。
実際、本作のサウンドは「サウンドボード級」……いや「完全オフィシャル級」と言ってもいい。極太な芯は密度も凄まじくスカスカ感など皆無ですし、ヘッドフォンで耳を澄ませても距離感もまったくない。それこそ『ROCK IN RIO BRASIL 2022』と並べて聴いてもまったく遜色ない……と言いますか、上回っている!!!　『ROCK IN RIO BRASIL 2022』を体験された方なら音声も文句なしの「完全オフィシャル級」だと思われたと思います。ところが、本作はさらに鮮やかで抜けも格段に良い。本作を聴いた後では、あれほど完璧に思えた『ROCK IN RIO BRASIL 2022』のサウンドも、南米特有の詰まったミックスだったことに気づかされてしまうのです。
新型コロナ・パンデミックを挟み、2018年から続いてきた“LEGACY OF THE BEAST Tour”も終焉を迎えました。一度は予定された日本公演も幻に終わり、私たちは究極グレイテストヒッツ・ツアーを体験することは出来ませんでした。当店では、そんな口惜しさを晴らすライヴアルバムを数多くご紹介してきましたが、本作はその頂点に君臨する１本。残り３公演の音源がこれから出てきたとしても、今さら本作を超える事は不可能でしょう。
プロショット『ROCK IN RIO BRASIL 2022』と並び立つライヴアルバム篇であり、見方を変えれば「公式作品NIGHTS OF THE DEADに対する2022年版」と言ってもいい。もはや「サウンドボードか、オーディエンスか」も「公式か、非公式か」も関係ない。そんな次元に立つ超名盤。どうぞ、心ゆくまで存分に味わい尽くしてください。
