“GRASPOP METAL MEETING” is currently the eye of typhoons in the collector’s world. The masterpiece live album will be released at once! This work is the king IRON MAIDEN version, which is also the centerpiece.
It is “June 16, 2022 Dessel performance” that is imbued with such a work. It is a powerful audience recording when I acted as the first day bird of “GRASPOP METAL MEETING”. The 2022 European Summer Festival is a symbol of the scene revived from the new Corona Pandemic. Metal bands from all over the world are gathering and every festival is causing tremendous enthusiasm. Among them, “GRASPOP METAL MEETING” shines specially for collectors. It became a hot topic that a large number of distribution pro shots were released, but the best recordings are appearing one after another even for bands that did not distribute.
This work is the IRON MAIDEN version. This week, JUDAS PRIEST “Shades 1564” and SAXON “Shades 1565” will be released at the same time, but these are all sister works by the same recorder. In other words, along with MAIDEN, you can fully experience PRIEST, which is a symbol of heavy metal, and SAXON, who is an ally of NWOBHM, in the same recorder collection.
Also, from MAIDEN’s own point of view, this work is also the latest live album of the current “LEGACY OF THE BEAST Tour”. From the first day of the tour, we have been reporting in real time with various masterpiece items. First of all, let’s check the current state of the tour while organizing the collection by schedule.

This is the latest status of the 2022 version of “LEGACY OF THE BEAST Tour”. The appearance of “GRASPOP METAL MEETING” in this work is the 10th performance of the 29 European legs. It was a concert 12 days (after 4 performances) of “ROCKFEST 2022 (Shades 1559)” introduced last time.
This work, which is a vacuum-packed stage, is a tight and dynamic recording. As many of you may know from many professional shots, “GRASPOP METAL MEETING” is an outdoor festival. There are no ceilings or walls that reflect the sound, and the sound emitted from the PA is directly sucked in with zero echo. Of course, it doesn’t mean anything that was far from PA, but there is no worry about this work. A very thick core with no sense of distance is recorded with a straight ball, and the details are also clear accordingly. Maybe the performance sound was blown by the wind in the early stages of “Senjutsu” and “Revelations”, and although there are some scenes that are a little unstable, you can fully enjoy the bold sound of going “FM broadcast” on the ground. I also picked up the wind noise in the previous work “ROCKFEST 2022”, but this work does not have it either.
Also, on this day, another recording of the highest level has appeared, but this work is currently popular among collectors. The separate recording is clear and not bad, but the surrounding audience is a little too noisy. On the other hand, in this work, the thick playing sound dominates everything, and you can thoroughly immerse yourself in the latest live performance. Also, the thickness of the sound is a point. Outdoor recording without reverberation has the risk of losing weight instead of being tight, but this work is not only thick but also thick. Its dynamism is the coolest, especially the epic tune of “Tactical”.
This work itself is a powerful live album of IRON MAIDEN, but this time I would like you to enjoy it together with JUDAS PRIEST version “Shades 1564” and SAXON version “Shades 1565”. “Maiden and Priest” who embodied the ideal of heavy metal, or NWOBHM ally “Maiden and Saxon” who survived the same era.
