HELLOWEEN, a 7-member formation who sent out a new era masterpiece “HELLOWEEN” and announced their first Nippon Budokan performance. The latest pro shot that you can enjoy the stage that enjoys the new heyday has arrived.
This work was filmed at the “Buenos Aires performance on April 28, 2023”. It is a multi-camera pro shot when appearing at the popular South American festival “MASTERS OF ROCK ARGENTINA”. The new HELLOWEEN showed unprecedented excitement when they came to Japan in 2018, but after that, the new corona pandemic occurred. Last year, we finally resumed our tour activities. This work also serves as the first report, so let’s review their recent situation with the schedule first.

This is the schedule for 2021 and beyond that has been announced so far. In September, we are waiting for the re-visit to Japan for the first time in five years, but South America is already the second lap. The appearance of “MASTERS OF ROCK ARGENTINA” of this work was the 5th performance of “South America # 2”, which is the final stage. This festival is an event where a total of 6 groups such as SCORPIONS and DEEP PURPLE appeared with KISS as the main act. This work is the delivery pro shot. Although I feel the image quality is sweet due to the distribution environment, there are no errors such as block noise, and the camera work is perfect. It’s hard to call it “completely official class!” if it’s a super high-spec modern standard, but if it was the 2016 standard when United started, it would have been affirmed.

… and it looks like this. New songs such as “Skyfall” and “Mass Pollution” are also shown on the solo tour, but this work is a short set mainly composed of classics for the festival. The new song is narrowed down to “Best Time” only. And the 7-person HELLOWEEN who spells such a set is still wonderful. It seems that he is suffering from equipment trouble around “Power” in the first half, but he quickly recovers without showing any panic. The combination has also evolved, and you can see well that you are accustomed to live as a unit.
Also, the bright stage with high sun is fresh. As mentioned above, 6 bands were participating on this day, but HELLOWEEN’s turn was the third in the middle. It is an appearance from 16:00 in the evening, and you can clearly see every corner of the stage without relying on proof. While Andy and Kiske are dueting face-to-face, you can even see the other members slipping in the distance.
Rock bands aren’t just about having more people, but in their case, it worked out perfectly. HELLOWEEN, a 7-member formation who has been called “the strongest metal band in modern times”, showing off their best performance both in album production and as a live act. It is the latest professional shot that you can not wait to come back to Japan five months from now. Please enjoy it to your heart’s content.

新時代の名作『HELLOWEEN』を送り出し、初の日本武道館公演も発表になった７人編成HELLOWEEN。新たな全盛を謳歌するステージを楽しめる最新プロショットが到着です。
そんな本作が撮影されたのは「2023年４月28日ブエノスアイレス公演」。話題を呼んでいる南米フェス“MASTERS OF ROCK ARGENTINA”に出演した際のマルチカメラ・プロショットです。2018年の来日では空前の盛り上がりを見せた新生HELLOWEENでしたが、その後に新型コロナ・パンデミックが発生。昨年からようやくツアー活動を再開させました。本作は、その第一報も兼ねておりますので、まずは彼らの近況をスケジュールでおさらいしておきましょう。

これが現在までに公表されている2021年以降のスケジュール。９月には５年ぶりの再来日が待っているわけですが、南米はすでに２周目。本作の“MASTERS OF ROCK ARGENTINA”出演は、その終盤にあたる「南米#2」の５公演目にあたるステージでした。このフェスはKISSをメイン・アクトにSCORPIONSやDEEP PURPLEなど、総勢６組が出演したイベント。本作は、その配信プロショットです。配信環境のせいか画質に甘さも感じるものの、ブロック・ノイズなどのエラーはなく、カメラワークも完璧。超ハイスペックな現代基準だと「完全オフィシャル級！」と呼ぶのに迷いますが、ユナイテッドが始動した2016年基準だったら断言していた……といった感じです。
そんな準オフィシャル級クオリティで画かれるのは、『HELLOWEEN』の新曲も飛び出すフル・ステージ。ここでその内容も整理しておきましょう。

……と、このようになっています。単独ツアーでは「Skyfall」や「Mass Pollution」といった新曲も披露していますが、本作はフェスのためにクラシックスを主体としたショート・セット。新曲は「Best Time」だけに絞られています。そして、そんなセットを綴る７人HELLOWEENは、やはり素晴らしい。前半の「Power」辺りで機材トラブルに苦しんでいるようですが、慌てるそぶりも見せずにすぐに回復。コンビネーションも進化し、ユニットとしてライヴ慣れしているのがよく分かります。
また、日が高い明るいステージなのも新鮮。前述のように、この日は６組のバンドが参加していたわけですが、HELLOWEENの出番は真ん中の三番手。夕方16:00からの出演であり、証明に頼らずともステージの隅々まではっきりクッキリと見渡せる。アンディとキスクが顔を近づけてデュエットしている間、遠くで他のメンバーがトボけているのまで見えてしまうのです。
ロックバンドは人数が増えれば良いというものではありませんが、彼らの場合は完全に吉と出た。アルバムづくりでもライヴアクトとしても絶好調ぶりを見せつけ、「現代最強のメタルバンド」との呼び声も高い７人編成HELLOWEEN。今から５ヶ月後の再来日が待ちきれなくなる最新プロショットです。どうぞ、心ゆくまで存分にご堪能ください。
