HEAVEN & HELL in 2008 teamed up with JUDAS PRIEST, MOTORHEAD, and TESTAMENT to embarked on a festival tour. A decision board that allows you to experience the best “METAL MASTERS”, the only one that has not been left with a professional shot, is now available.
This work contains two spectacular audience shots. It is a two-disc set with DISC 1 for “Burgettstown performance on August 16, 2008” and DISC 2 for “San Bernardino performance on August 30, 2008”. HEAVEN & HELL left the official video “LIVE FROM RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL”, “NEON NIGHTS: 30 YEARS OF HEAVEN & HELL” and super-super professional shot “BONN 2009” in about two and a half years of activities. However, there is no way that all tours can be suppressed with these three works. This work is the definitive image of “pro shot alternative” where you can fully experience such a tour of the hole. In order to understand the situation around here, let’s take a bird’s eye view of their activities here.

This is the history of HEAVEN & HELL. The 2007 “HEAVEN AND HELL Tour” was the official work “LIVE FROM RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL”, and the 2009 “THE DEVIL YOU KNOW Tour” left two works “NEON NIGHTS” and “BONN 2009”. However, only the 2008 “METAL MASTERS Tour (that is, North America # 3)”, which is in between, has no professional shots. The two performances recorded in this work are the 8th and 17th performances of “North America # 3”. Let’s introduce each one individually.
[DISC 1: Burgettstown performance on August 16] The first thing that appears is the Burgettstown footage from the 8th performance. It is a new master that collectors are getting excited about in the video that appeared very recently. The taste is a real experience. The “Post Gazette Pavillion” that became the scene is an open space with a ceiling but no walls, and the distant seats are a type of venue where you can sit directly on the lawn. This work is shot from the lawn seats while looking directly at the center of the stage. This may sound like a distant shot, but it’s not. Although there is no hustle and bustle like the seats close to the stage, the angled slope makes the stage feel closer than it actually is.And the openness of the lawn seats is wonderful. Since the performance started at a time when the sun was high, the audience sat on the ground in front of them and watched HEAVEN & HELL leisurely. This atmosphere is exactly what summer festivals are all about. For us Japanese, we tend to think that it’s disrespectful to the band if we’re not enthusiastic. To us Japanese, this might seem out of proportion to the heavy and majestic music of HEAVEN & HELL, but this is exactly what we’ve loved about HR/HM for many years. It’s the real atmosphere.
What’s more, it’s actually easy to see, and you can concentrate on live performances. In addition to the superb view of the steep slope as mentioned above, the sound is also clear. Because it is semi-outdoor, it directly picks up the sound emitted by the PA without echo. [DISC 2: August 30 San Bernardino footage] Following on from such a new masterpiece video is the San Bernardino video that has reigned as the “Best of the METAL MASTERS Tour” for many years. I think that some people know that it has been loved as a gift board “ONE HELL OF A SHOW”, but its visual beauty is super and superb. Resolution, zoom, superb view, sound … everything is the highest peak. Exactly tour No.1 … No, it is a top image even in all audience shots of HEAVEN & HELL.
The reason why it didn’t become famous even though it was such a video was the shortness of the set. As mentioned above, the “METAL MASTERS Tour” is a festival tour with a total of 4 groups. HEAVEN & HELL was also a short set, and there were no new songs or rare songs that attracted attention. However, music is not always big and small. A short holding time leads to constant concentration, especially for Ronnie who was 66 years old, a short set is more suitable for full pitching. Moreover, because it is short, the set is also the ultimate best that carefully selected only absolute songs. Finally, let’s organize the “Ronnie era chic” that they themselves chose.
●Heaven & Hell (4 songs)
・Children Of The Sea/Die Young/Heaven And Hell/Neon Knights
● Others (4 songs)
・ Devil’s Code: The Mob Rules / The Sign Of The Southern Cross / Falling Off The Edge Of The World
・ Dehumanizer: I / Time Machine
A new video that has become a hot topic and a traditional masterpiece video. It is the best 2-disc set to experience the often overlooked “METAL MASTERS Tour”. If you have two official works and this work, you can overlook all the activities of HEAVEN & HELL. An absolute work instead of such a professional shot. Please enjoy the two performances together to your heart’s content!
★ Spectacular audience shots of “August 16, 2008 Burgettstown Performance (DISC 1) + August 30, 2008 San Bernardino Performance (DISC 2)”. DISC 1 is a video that has recently appeared, and it is the best with the real experience of a semi-outdoor clear sound and an open festival. DISC 2 is a super-superb image that has reigned as “Tour No. 1” for many years, and the visual beauty is like a one-camera pro shot. It is an absolute work that you can experience the only tour “METAL MASTERS” where no professional shots were left.
