This is the overall picture of the “We’re F’N’ Back! Tour” that has been announced so far. The Hyde Park performance of this work was the 10th performance of “Europe # 2”, and it was also after two performances of “GLASTONBURY 2023 (Shades 1797)”.
This work, which conveys such a show, is a thick sound full of flavor from an outdoor venue with zero response. Although the detailed recording position has not been revealed, it is probably recording toward the PA tower set up far from the stage. Contrary to the sound coming in without a sense of distance, it feels far from the frenzy like the immediate vicinity of the stage. Although it is hard to say that it is the best position for watching the show, it sounds like it was recorded in the best situation for soundboard-style audience recording. Moreover, this work is meticulous mastering in the direction of making use of such a sound board feeling. Of course, we do not make useless sound pressure gains, and adjust the balance of each range based on band analysis. In particular, the middle range, which had been a bit lumpy, has improved, and the sense of separation has improved.
However, it’s not like it’s “indistinguishable from a soundboard”. Although it is not harsh, the reaction of the audience is real, and the performance sound is slightly affected by the wind. While the ease of listening is a sound board grade, at the same time it also absorbs the reality that you can feel the temperature of the site with your skin.
The latest stage of the “We’re F’N’ Back! Tour”, which is performing well like never before, is depicted with such a realistic, thick sound. Needless to say, the “APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION” number will return to the stage in 2023 for the first time in 35 years. It is being talked about as “the highlight of the year”. Unfortunately, I didn’t play it in the pro shot “GLASTONBURY 2023” as expected, but in this way I can enjoy it in this work with a very thick sound (By the way, this is “APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION” which Slash/Duff has not played since returning. The number is now only “Think About You.” In the near future, there will be no album reproduction live …).
GUNS N’ ROSES are still showing off their monstrosity at the center of the scene. It is a 3-disc set where you can experience the latest live with a thick sound. The precious “Anything Goes” is also a delicious full show of 2 hours 56 minutes 32 seconds, please enjoy it to your heart’s content.

そんなショウを伝える本作は、反響ゼロな野外会場の旨みたっぷりな極太サウンド。詳しい録音ポジションは明かされていませんが、恐らくはステージから遠くに立てられたPA塔に向かって録音しているのではないでしょうか。出音が距離感なく飛び込んでくるのに反し、ステージ直近のような狂乱からは離れている感じ。ショウを観るためのベスト・ポジションとは言い難いものの、サウンドボード風のオーディエンス録音のためにはベストなシチュエーションで録られたように聞こえる。しかも、本作はそんなサウンドボード感を活かす方向で細心マスタリング。もちろん無駄な音圧稼ぎなどは行わず、帯域分析の上で各音域のバランスを調整。特に固まり気味だった中域のヌケが良くなり、セパレート感が向上したのです。
ただし「サウンドボードと区別が付かない」という感じでもない。耳障りではないとは言え観客の反応はリアルですし、演奏音もわずかに風の影響を受けている。聴きやすさはサウンドボード級でありつつ、同時に現場の気温を肌で感じられるようなリアリティも吸い込んでいるのです。
