EXTREME has finally come to Japan for the first time in 7 years. Two of the best titles will be released at the same time, which will be the first report of the Japan tour that is currently underway.
This work is the first of two simultaneous releases. This is a 3-disc audience set with the finest original recording of “September 19, 2023: KT Zepp Yokohama Performance” on DISC 1-2 and the spectacular video on DISC 3. This visit to Japan is still in progress, and the first report this week will be the simultaneous release of two titles. [Superb original recording by a popular master] That’s all 7 performances. By the time this article is published, the Osaka performance will have finished. The balance was that more than half of the performances were in the Kanto region, and the Yokohama performance of this work was also the first performance in the Kanto region.
This work is a vacuum-packed version of such a scene, and both the live album version (DISC 1-2) and video version (DISC 3) are superb. First of all, it’s the live album version, but this is extremely tight and direct. It is the type that goes on the ground as a so-called “sound board”. Of course, this recording was made by a recording artist who is currently a hot topic. Various masterpieces are attracting attention, but in the HR/HM genre, DEEP PURPLE’s press masterpiece “HIROSHIMA 2023: DEFINITIVE MASTER (Darker Than Blue 321/322)” and QUEEN + Adam Lambert’s “SAITAMA SUPER ARENA 2020 2ND” NIGHT: DEFINITIVE MASTER (Uxbridge 1988)”. This work, perhaps due to the scale of the venue, has an even more amazing tight feeling, and is the latest work that will further increase its fame.

[Super-scenic footage that looks like it was shot by the staff] Although such a full live album alone is enough to fill my heart, this work is a super definitive edition that also includes the finest footage. This is another spectacular shot. This is a one-shot shot from the back of the venue, but the vantage point is so high that it passes directly over the heads of the customers in front. You can see all the highlights of the stage without any obstructions. Although the zoom is not so intense, Nuno’s guitar solo and interaction with Gary come closer and fill the screen. And the image quality is excellent, with no loss of quality even when zoomed. There is nothing that makes you realize the progress of technology as much as the audience video, but it is still clear, glossy, and beautiful. You could freeze the screen and publish it as a still photo in a magazine.
Additionally, the audio is top-notch. Judging from the video, there should be some distance, but you can’t feel it from the audio. The extra-thick core is up close, and the details and separation are clear. As expected, it was half a step short of the main recording (DISC1-2), and there was a plan to synchronize it, but it would be a waste to pretend that this audio also did not exist. I deliberately kept the original audio intact on the DVD.

Still, amazing recording and amazing video. This work is a breaking news title that tells you about the performance in Japan as soon as possible, but it has a quality that makes you think, “Isn’t it impossible to do it any more suddenly?” A three-disc set that will be the first report and probably the best masterpiece. Please enjoy the experience to your heart’s content!

【話題の名手による超極上のオリジナル録音】
以上、全７公演。本稿が公開される頃には、大阪公演が終わろうとしている事でしょう。半分以上の４公演が関東圏というバランスであり、本作の横浜公演はその関東一発目でもありました。
そんな現場を真空パックした本作は、ライヴアルバム篇（DISC 1-2）も映像篇（DISC 3）も極上。まずライヴアルバム篇ですが、これがとんでもなくタイト＆ダイレクト。いわゆる「まるでサウンドボード」を地で行くタイプです。それもそのはず、この録音を手掛けたのは、今話題の録音家。様々な名作が話題を呼んでいますが、HR/HM系ならDEEP PURPLEのプレス名盤『HIROSHIMA 2023: DEFINITIVE MASTER（Darker Than Blue 321/322）』やQUEEN＋アダム・ランバートの『SAITAMA SUPER ARENA 2020 2ND NIGHT: DEFINITIVE MASTER（Uxbridge 1988）』で話題となった人物。本作は、会場の規模もあってか、さらに凄まじいタイト感でして、名声をさらに高める最新作なのです。

【まるでスタッフ撮影のような超・絶景映像】
そんなフル・ライヴアルバムだけでも胸いっぱいなのですが、本作はさらに極上の映像もセットした超・決定盤。これがまた、猛烈な絶景ショット。会場後方からのワンカメなのですが、視点が高く前方客の頭上を素通り。遮蔽物ナシでステージの見どころを見放題なのです。ズームはそれほど激しくはありませんが、それでもヌーノのギターソロやゲイリーとの絡みなどはグイグイと寄って画面いっぱいに迫る。そして、そのズームでもまったく落ちない画質も強烈。オーディエンス映像ほど技術の進歩を実感する物はないわけですが、それにしても鮮明で艶やかで美しい。画面を止めて、そのままスチール写真として雑誌に掲載できそうなくらいです。
さらに音声も極上級。映像からすると距離があるハズなのに、音声からはそれを感じない。極太な芯が間近に迫ってディテールもセパレート感も鮮明。さすがにメイン録音（DISC1-2）には半歩及ばず、シンクロさせる案もあったのですが、こちらの音声もなかったことにするには勿体ない。あえてオリジナル音声のままDVDに封じ込めました。

それにしてもスゴい録音に凄い映像。本作は来日公演をいち早くお伝えする速報タイトルなのですが、「いきなりこれ以上はムリじゃないか？」というクオリティです。第一報にして恐らく最高傑作になるであろう３枚組。どうぞ、お腹いっぱいご体験ください！
