Eric Clapton’s “Pilgrim Japan Tour” started on November 9, 1999. The official promotion of Warner Europe distribution, which was held in Los Angeles on November 4th just before that, was a complete recording of Genepro (rehearsal in an actual hall without spectators) assuming a Japan tour with stereo sound board recording. It is acetate. All the representative songs that were planned to be performed on the Japan Tour are completed with the tension just like the actual performance. 1999年11月9日から始まったエリック・クラプトンの「ピルグリム・ジャパン・ツアー」。その直前の11月4日にロサンゼルスで行なわれた、ジャパン・ツアーを想定したゲネプロ（観客を入れない実際のホールでのリハーサル）をステレオ・サウンドボード録音で完全収録したワーナー・ヨーロッパ配給のオフィシャルプロモーションアセテートです。ジャパン・ツアーで演奏する予定だった代表曲をすべて本番さながらのテンションで完奏しています。曲間はラジオ放送時にインタビューが挿入されることを想定して各曲10秒～30秒ほどの無音部分となっていますが、実は本音源を収録した既発盤には入っていない演奏前のサウンドチェック出音がラインで入っています。それぞれ数秒間ですが、非常に重要な出音の記録と言えます。それを含めまして完全無加工の状態で聴いていただけます。当然バンドメンバーはジャパン・ツアー時と同じで、このツアーのみサポートしたデイヴ・デロームがキーボードを務めたほか、バックコーラスのテッサ・ナイルズとケイティ・キスーンコンビにとっては最後のツアーとなったものです。セットリストについては、ツアー初日ではブルースのReconsider BabyやOld Love、アンコールでBefore You Accuse Meなども組まれた長めのものでしたが、ツアーの進行に連れ、バンドの疲れ具合や時間的な制約の中でこうしたナンバーが落ちていきました。そのためこの時点ではReconsider Babyがリハーサルされていたというわけで、この曲を聴けるのも貴重です。このツアーで注目すべきは、長年に亘りクラプトンをサポートしてきたセカンドギタリスト、アンディ・フェアウェザー・ロウを彼のヒット曲Gin Houseでフィーチャーしたことです。長年の労苦に報い、信頼を込めて彼に1曲を任せたのですが、なんと中間ではクラプトンの凄まじいソロで主役の座を持っていってしまっているという聴き所があります。逆にアンディからすれば、信頼ゆえにクラプトンにソロを任せたということだったのでしょう。演奏曲の出所を記しますと、
