This week, two of the superstars of the British rock world, Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood, released two works of the finest stereo audience sound source at the same time in 2011, which was the last year of the joint stage that they continued for four years. increase! Both works are DAT masters recorded by themselves, provided by a heavyweight taper living in the UK, familiar with our Clapton titles. Therefore, it is an original master that will be our exclusive release.
The first work is a complete recording of the stage on May 26, the first day of the joint, from the annual continuous performance held at London’s Royal Albert Hall (RAH) with “superb” sound quality. The seat that the heavyweight taper got is a good position in front of the floor seat, probably in front of the PA speaker located on the front left. The musical tone is slightly closer to the left channel from the center, but the audience’s applause cheers are divided neatly to the left and right. The sound quality is absolutely impeccable, clear and the sound balance is impeccable, and it is recorded in the best environment where there is no audience noise such as annoying conversations of nearby customers or coughing throughout the whole story. In our shop, we have previously released the sound source of this day from the audience master recorded by the local taper in the 6-disc press title “ROYAL FAITH NIGHTS” (Beano-043), but this time the DAT master of the heavyweight taper It has become an ultra-high sound quality that surpasses it. It is exactly the highest peak audience recording. We hope that you will enjoy the culmination stage, which was the last opportunity for the joint performance of the two, with the highest sound quality ever.
In fact, Clapton and Winwood had a joint concert in London in 2010, the previous year. It is also captured in “Wembley 2010 Second Night” (Beano-220) released by our shop recently. The 2011 concert was supported by the same band members as in 2010. Two years later, I held a concert with the same band in London again.

“It was.” Considering the above, the reasons for jointly performing in London (UK) for two years in a row are: ① Clapton had no choice but to enjoy live performances with his ally Winwood. Considering that he did this in Japan in November of that year, it must have been a lot of fun. From the fact that it was a lively and diverse activity situation, it can be seen that Clapton was on the glue. (2) In 2010, I released a new studio recording, “CLAPTON,” and I wanted to perform the recorded songs live. The songs on this album were from Clapton’s “mental jukebox”. It was also a common item with Wynwood, who is the same generation, so I think he wanted to play with him (That’s No Way To Get Along). As long as you do it for two years in a row, Clapton has also changed the set list. Hoochie Coochie Man, While You See A Chance, and That’s No Way To Get Along, which were not played in the previous year, were newly set in. Other songs were the same as the previous year, but the performance heard in this work is just perfection. In particular, Winwood’s singing and restrained organ at Georgia On My Mind featuring Winwood, and Clapton’s guitar solo inserted there are excellent. It can be asserted that this is a masterpiece that can only be played by these two people. The numbers from the old blind face era are also good, and I can’t stand the wavy attack of Clapton’s guitar and Winwood’s organ at Jimihen’s Voodoo Chile. The interplay by the two guitarists at the end of Encore’s Dear Mr. Fantasy is also clear. On top of a project that has been going on for 4 years, it was only natural that the band from the previous year would be supported, and the level of perfection would be high.

今週は、ブリティッシュロック界のスーパースターの二人、エリック・クラプトンとスティーヴ・ウィンウッドが4年続けてきたジョイントステージ最後の年となった2011年の、極上ステレオ・オーディエンス音源を2作同時にリリース致します！2作とも当店のクラプトンタイトルではお馴染みの、イギリス在住の重鎮テーパーから提供された、本人録音によるDATマスターです。従って、当店の独占リリースとなるオリジナルマスターとなっております。
1作目は、ロンドンのロイヤル・アルバート・ホール（以下RAH）にて開催した恒例の連続公演から、ジョイントの初日となった5月26日のステージを「極上」音質で完全収録したものです。重鎮テーパーがゲットした座席は、フロア席前方の好ポジション、恐らく正面左に位置したPAスピーカーの前辺りではないかと推察されます。楽音はセンターから僅かに左チャンネルに寄っていますが、オーディエンスの拍手歓声は左右にきれいに分かれています。音質は、まさに非の打ち所のない、クリアでサウンドバランスも申し分のないもので、全編を通じて煩わしい近辺の客の話し声や咳払いなどのオーディエンスノイズが一切ないという最高の環境で収録されています。当店では以前、「ROYAL FAITH NIGHTS」（Beano-043)という6枚組プレスタイトルにて、現地テーパーの録音したオーディエンスマスターからこの日の音源もリリースしていますが、今回の重鎮テーパーのDATマスターはそれをも凌駕する超高音質となっています。まさしく最高峰のオーディエンス録音です。二人のジョイント最後の機会となった集大成ステージを是非過去最高音質でお楽しみいただければと思います。
【最終年に相応しい完璧なパフォーマンス！】
実は前年の2010年にもクラプトンとウィンウッドはロンドンでジョイントコンサートを行なっていました。それは先般、当店がリリースしました「Wembley 2010 Second Night」（Beano-220）にも捉えられています。2011年のコンサートも、サポートしたバンドメンバーは2010年と同じでした。2年続いてまたロンドンで、同じバンドでコンサートを行なったわけですが、その経緯を理解する上で、前年からこの連続公演までのクラプトンの動きを追ってみますと、

となっていました。以上から考えますと、2年続きでロンドン（UK)でジョイントを行なった理由は、①クラプトンは、盟友ウィンウッドとのライブ共演が楽しくて仕方がなかったこと。この年の11月には日本でもこれを実施したことを思うと、余程楽しかったのでしょう。活発で多彩な活動状況だったことから、クラプトンがノリにノッていたことが窺えます。②2010年にスタジオ録音の新作「CLAPTON」をリリースしており、その収録曲をライブ披露したいと考えた。このアルバムの収録曲は、クラプトン言うところの「メンタル・ジュークボックス（ずっと心の中にある思い出の曲群）」からのナンバーでした。それは同世代であるウィンウッドとの共通項でもあったため、彼と演奏したいと考えた、ということではないでしょうか（That’s No Way To Get Alongがそれに当たります）。2年続けてやる限りは、クラプトンもセットリストを変えてきました。前年にはプレイしなかったHoochie Coochie Man、While You See A Chance、そしてThat’s No Way To Get Alongを新たにセットインさせました。他曲は前年と同じだったわけですが、本作で聴かれる演奏は正に完璧と言う他はないほどの完成度です。特にウィンウッドをフィーチャーしたGeorgia On My Mindでのウィンウッドの歌唱と抑制の効いたオルガン、そこに挿まれるクラプトンのギターソロが絶品です。これはこの二人にしか演奏できない名演と断言していいでしょう。旧ブラインド・フェイス時代のナンバーもこなれたものですし、ジミヘンのVoodoo Chileでのクラプトンのギターとウィンウッドのオルガンの波状攻撃には堪りません。アンコールのDear Mr. Fantasy終盤の二人のギターによるインタープレイも冴えてます。4年続いてやってきた企画の上に、信頼できる前年からのバンドにサポートしてもらい、完成度が高くなるのも当然と言えば当然だったでしょうか。
過去最高音質を実現した2011年RAH初日公演のオリジナルマスター音源。今、振り返れば貴重だったクラプトン＆ウィンウッドのジョイントコンサートの決定版を是非お楽しみください。
