CSN & Y “WEMBLEY STADIUM 1974: MASTER TAPES”, which recorded the Wembley Stadium performance in 1974 with an amazing upper audience, includes a DVD-R “WEMBLEY STADIUM 1974: PRO- SHOT VIDEO” was attached.
Although the image quality was rough due to the leaked video, it was a professional shot, and it captured many visuals and interesting scenes that could not be heard from the sound source, and although it was treated as a bonus, it received a great response. It was.
However, the attached DVD-R was based on the version that Krw_co uploaded to YouTube, so not only was the image quality slightly degraded, but also several songs recorded in that “CSNY1974” were official. ・It was cut because it corresponded to the content.

CSN＆Y1974年のウェンブリー・スタジアム公演を驚異のアッパー版オーディエンスにて収録した「WEMBLEY STADIUM 1974: MASTER TAPES」にはリリース初週のみ、同日のプロショット映像を収めたDVD-R「WEMBLEY STADIUM 1974: PRO-SHOT VIDEO」が付属していました。
流出映像ゆえに画質は粗めであったものの、さすがにプロショットというだけのことはあって音源からは伺い知れないヴィジュアルや面白い場面を多く捉えており、あくまでオマケ扱いながらも大きな反響を呼ぶことになったのです。
ところが付属DVD-RはYouTubeにかのKrw_coがアップしてくれたバージョンを元にしていたことで画質が若干ながら劣化していただけでなく、かの「CSNY1974」に収録されていた数曲がオフィシャル・コンテントに該当したせいでカットされていたのでした。

だからこそリリース初週のみのボーナス・アイテム扱いだった訳ですが、そうしてカットされた曲の中でもニール・ヤングの「Pushed It Over The End」の未収録は痛い。実を申しますと、当初はカットのない完全版であったネット上のトレントサイトに上がっていたバージョンの採用を検討していたのですが、画質が大きく劣化してしまっていた。
そこで泣く泣く不完全ながらも画質のベターなYouTubeバージョンを採用した訳だったのです。それが先のような反響を呼んだ結果として、やはり「完全版の映像が見たい」という声が多く寄せられたのでした。
そこで注目すべきは2004年のリアタイ・リリースで当時大旋風を巻き起こしたAURORA BOREALISレーベルの「WEMBLEY STADIUM 1974 COMPLETE」。最初に挙げた二種類のネット・バージョンも元は同盤からアップロードされていたはずなのですが、どうにも画質の劣化が否めない。そこで今回は改めて同盤から忠実に復刻。
元が流出映像ですので近年の技術で復刻された「CSNY1974」のバージョンには及ばないものの、それでも例のネット上バージョンよりは俄然見やすく、なおかつ完全収録。特に初週ギフトで見慣れた方であれば、そのアッパー感を理解してもらえるかと。

そして1969年や70年とはまったく違う、いかにも70年代半ばのレイドバックした雰囲気の中でステージに挑む四人の姿。これがまた1974年再結成ツアーの魅力と言えるでしょう。
何しろギターを弾かずにスティーブン・スティルスがパーカッションを叩きながら歌う「First Things First」、ステージの随所で演奏に加わるジョニ・ミッチェル、そして「CSNY1974」セットでは収録の叶わなかった「Carry On」のワイルドで長い演奏場面を映像付きで見られるという貴重さは、この映像の価値がまったく色褪せていない証。
オーディエンス・アルバムである「WEMBLEY STADIUM 1974: MASTER TAPES」と対をなす貴重映像にして、現在はベスト・バージョンが入手困難となってしまったプロショットでもある。改めて見どころ満載な本映像のコンプリートかつベストなバージョンをじっくりとお楽しみください！
