Alice Cooper with Nita Strauss back as if nothing had happened. The latest video where you can experience the renewal tour, which is also reading the topic of the extremely rare revival song, is now available.
This work was filmed at “May 5, 2023 at Prior Lake”. It is the superb view audience shot. Last year, Nita’s withdrawal → Kane Roberts’ return caused a shock, but since then, various news has popped out from around Alice. In order to review that area, let’s first take a bird’s eye view of his recent situation in the schedule.

This is the 2022/2023 Alice Cooper that has been announced so far. Last summer, “Nita’s withdrawal → Kane Roberts return” was a big topic, but Nita returned in about 8 months. From the end of this month, HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES will be revived for the first time in four years (it seems that there is also a memorial project for Jeff Beck, who worked with Johnny Depp), and after that, he will return to the tour as a solo. And at the beginning of “North America #6”, they also participated in MOTLEY CRUE / DEF LEPPARD’s “The World Tour”. The number of performances alone makes it hard to believe that he is in his 70s, but he is showing off his intense desire to work on multiple projects at the same time.
I’ve gotten ahead of the story, but what’s currently underway is “North America #4”, where Nita has just returned. The Plier Lake performance of this work was a concert that was the 6th performance in the early stages. This work, which vacuum-packed the scene “immediately after Nita’s return”, is a spectacular view that will wake your eyes. I’m shooting from the middle of the arena on the first floor, but the audience seats are steep and there are no obstructions like stand seats. You can look directly at the stage at almost the same eye level as the members.
Also (as you can see in the scene immediately after the start of filming), there is a passage in front of the photographer, and there are no customers physically nearby. Not only does it play a role in the superb view, but it also contributes to clear sound. The sound output is unobstructed and reaches straight, the outline is clear and the details are very clear. Although it is different from the sound board-like feeling of close contact, the ease of listening is just like FM broadcasting.

… and it looks like this. Last year there were a lot of songs that were relatively breaking balls, but in 2023 Masamichi Classics has revived quite a bit. In such a situation, the revival song of the metal era is attracting attention. “Snakebite” was revived for the first time in 32 years since “HEY STOOPID”, and “Bed Of Nails”, which feels like a classic in recent years, was a rare song that had been sealed for over 20 years before the new corona disaster.
And the best part is the opening “Lock Me Up”. After 36 years from “RAISE YOUR FIST AND YELL”, it was played on stage for the first time this year. Alice said, “Thanks to Nita’s shred guitar, I can play songs from the metal era,” but she may have wanted to appeal her return. In fact, even when Nita started playing the guitar, it was so unexpected that my brain couldn’t catch up with “I’ve heard it before… what song is it?” do you plead?” Come to think of it, it’s a really cool opening, but it’s strange that I’ve never done it before.
I was happy with Kane Roberts’ return last year, but I think Nita, who is active and active, might be more suitable for the current emperor. そんな本作が撮影されたのは「2023年５月５日プライヤー・レイク公演」。その絶景オーディエンス・ショットです。昨年はニタ離脱→ケイン・ロバーツ復帰が衝撃を呼びましたが、その後もアリス周辺からは様々なニュースが飛び出している。その辺をおさらいするためにも、まずはスケジュールで彼の近況を俯瞰してみましょう。

これが現在までに公表されている2022年／2023年のアリス・クーパー。昨年夏に「ニタ離脱→ケイン・ロバーツ復帰」が大きな話題と鳴りましたが、約８ヶ月でニタが復帰。今月末からは４年ぶりとなるHOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES復活が予定（ジョニー・デップと組んでいたジェフ・ベックへの追悼企画もあるそうです）され、その後はソロとして再びツアーに戻る予定です。そして、その「北米#6」冒頭ではMOTLEY CRUE／DEF LEPPARDの“The World Tour”にも参加。公演数だけでも70代とは思えないのに、複数のプロジェクトを同時進行させる激しい活動意欲を見せつけています。
話しが先走りましたが、現在進行中なのはニタが戻ってきたばかりの「北米#4」。本作のプライヤー・レイク公演は、その中でも序盤の６公演目にあたるコンサートでした。まさに「ニタ復帰直後」の現場を真空パックした本作は、目も醒める絶景。１階アリーナの中程から撮影しているのですが、客席が急勾配なのかまるでスタンド席のように遮蔽物ゼロ。メンバー達とほぼ同じ目線の高さでステージを直視できるのです。
また（撮影開始直後のシーンで分かるのですが）撮影者の目の前は通路になっており、物理的にも間近客がいない。それが絶景に一役買っているだけでなく、クリアなサウンドにも貢献。出音が何にも邪魔されず真っ直ぐに届き、輪郭もクッキリとしていてディテールまでえらく鮮明。サウンドボード的なド密着感とは違うものの、聴きやすさはFM放送ばりです。
そんな広々とした絶景席から楽しめるのは、昨年から様変わりしたアリス・クーパー・ショウ。当店では昨年も同じ会場の絶景映像『PRIOR LAKE 2022（Shades 1509）』をご紹介しておりますので、比較しつつ定点観測してみましょう。

……と、このようになっています。昨年はわりと変化球的な曲が多かったのですが、2023年は正道クラシックスがだいぶ復活してきました。そんな中で注目を集めているのはメタル時代の復活曲。「Snakebite」は『HEY STOOPID』当時から32年ぶりの復活ですし、近年の定番のようにも感じる「Bed Of Nails」も新型コロナ禍前は20年以上封印されていたレア曲でした。
そして極めつけなのがオープニングを務める「Lock Me Up」。何と『RAISE YOUR FIST AND YELL』から36年を経て、今年初めてステージ演奏されたのです。アリスは「ニタのシュレッド・ギターのお陰でメタル時代の曲もやれる」と言っていましたが、そんな彼女の復帰をアピールしたかったのかも知れません。実際、ニタのギターて始まっても意外すぎて「聴いたことあるけど……何の曲だっけ？」と脳が追いつかず、例の「Alice Cooper!! You have been accused of mass mental cruelty, How do you plead?」でやっと「あぁ！」なる。考えてみればいかにもオープニング映えするのに、今までやったことがなかったのが不思議なくらいカッコ良く決まっているのです。
昨年のケイン・ロバーツ復帰も嬉しかったですが、やはり現役ばりばりなニタの方が今の帝王には似合うのかも知れません。あるべき姿に戻りつつ、意外すぎる変化球でフレッシュでもある最新ツアーを特等席体験できる１枚。どうぞ、じっくりとお楽しみください。
