AEROSMITH史上、唯一にして最大の特異点であった『ROCK IN A HARD PLACE』時代。その貴重な生演奏を脳みそに流し込んでくれる衝撃の極上サウンドボード・アルバムが登場です！
そんな本作に刻まれているのは「1983年３月４日オーガスタ公演」。そのステレオ・サウンドボード録音です。AEROSMITHと言えば、ロック史でも珍しいほどメンバーチェンジの少ないバンドだったわけですが、「少ない」であって「ゼロ」ではなかった。ジョー・ペリー／ブラッド・ウィットフォードの代わりに「ジミー・クレスポ／リック・デュファイ」をギターに迎えていたのが『ROCK IN A HARD PLACE』でした。本作は、そんなオーディエンス録音ですら稀少な時代の極上サウンドボードなのです。良い機会でもありますので（少し長くなりますが）ここで「オリメンじゃないAEROSMITH」の歩みを俯瞰してみましょう。

これがオリメン崩壊から復活までの５年間。ライヴはすべて北米公演のみで、短いミニツアーが散髪する感じでした。その中で唯一、60公園を越える大規模ツアーだったのが「北米#3」。本作のオーガスタ公演は、その最後から２番目という最終盤のコンサートでした。
そんなショウで記録された本作は、衝撃の超極上サウンドボード。何しろ本作のソースは、かの“レコード・プラント”から流出した14インチ・マスターなのです。“レコード・プラント”と言えば、『GET YOUR WINGS』から『NIGHT IN THE RUTS』までの名盤群を生み出して来た伝説のスタジオ。その由緒正しい素性を証明するかのように、極太でド迫力な芯が脳内にズカズカと侵入し、頭が生演奏で満たされる。「完全オフィシャル級」と呼ぶにはミックスが生々しすぎる気もしますが、演奏の主がAEROSMITHとなれば、それは欠点ではなく美点。しかも激レア時代となれば、いくら生々しくても「すぎる」事はありません。正直なところ、さらに究極を目指してリマスターも敢行したのですが、ほとんど変えようがなかった（開演パートのステレオ感が狂っていたので、そこは補正致しました）。それほどの強力サウンドボードなのです。
しかも、本作はその超絶クオリティでフルショウ体験ができる。実のところ、オーガスタ公演サウンドボードはドラムソロの途中で終わっているのですが、その後の２曲分を翌日サウス・ヤーマス公演のサウンドボードで補完されているのです。この補完パートもメインと同じく“レコード・プラント”からの流出マスターでクオリティも酷似。この２曲が追加された事で、セットの完全形が再現されているのです。それでは、激レア時代のフルセットもチェックしておきましょう。

……と、このようになっています。ツアー序盤には『ROCK IN A HARD PLACE』も多かったようですが、本作は最終盤とあってか新曲は「Lightning Strikes」だけ。貴重曲は望めないのですが、その一方でクラシックスを描くアンサンブルはまったく異なる。本作は、そんなツインの呼吸感に至るまでド直結サウンドボードで超・克明に味わえるのです。
本来であれば、『ROCK IN A HARD PLACE』とセットでデラックス・エディション化していただきたい超絶サウンドボードです。本家本元の“レコード・プラント”に眠っていた秘宝。どうぞ、その輝きを永遠に語り継ぐプレスCDで存分に味わい尽くしてください！

The “ROCK IN A HARD PLACE” era was the single and biggest singularity in AEROSMITH’s history. Introducing an amazing soundboard album that will let you listen to that precious live performance into your brain!
What is engraved on this work is “March 4, 1983 Augusta Performance”. This is a stereo soundboard recording. Speaking of AEROSMITH, it was a band that had few member changes, which is rare in rock history, but it was “few,” not “zero.” “ROCK IN A HARD PLACE” had “Jimmy Crespo/Rick Dufay” on guitar instead of Joe Perry/Brad Whitford. This work is the best sound board of the era when even such audience recording was rare. This is also a good opportunity (although it’s a bit long), so let’s take a look at the history of AEROSMITH, who is not an orimen.

This is the five years from the collapse of Orimen to its revival. All the live shows were only in North America, and it felt like a short mini-tour getting a haircut. Among them, “North America #3” was the only large-scale tour that visited more than 60 parks. The Augusta performance of this work was the second to last concert.
This work recorded at such a show is a shocking super-excellent soundboard. After all, the source of this work is the 14-inch master leaked from the “Record Plant”. “Record Plant” is the legendary studio that has produced masterpieces from “GET YOUR WINGS” to “NIGHT IN THE RUTS.” As if to prove its time-honoured origins, the extremely thick and powerful core invades your brain, filling your head with live music. I feel like the mix is too raw to be called “completely official grade,” but if the main performer is AEROSMITH, that’s an advantage rather than a drawback. Moreover, in the era of ultra-rare, no matter how graphic it is, it is never “too much”. To be honest, I tried remastering it to make it even more ultimate, but there was almost nothing that could be changed (the stereo sound in the opening part was off, so I corrected it). It is such a powerful sound board.
Moreover, this work allows you to experience a full show with its transcendental quality. In fact, the Augusta performance sound board ends in the middle of the drum solo, but the next two songs are supplemented with the South Yarmouth performance sound board the next day. Like the main part, this supplementary part is also a leaked master from “Record Plant” and the quality is very similar. With the addition of these two songs, the complete form of the set has been reproduced. Now, let’s check out the full set from the super rare era.

…and it looks like this. It seems that there were many “ROCK IN A HARD PLACE” at the beginning of the tour, but this work is the final one, and the only new song is “Lightning Strikes”. I can’t expect to hear any valuable pieces, but on the other hand, the ensemble that depicts classical music is completely different. In this work, you can enjoy the feeling of breathing of such twins in a super clear manner with the direct connection sound board.
Originally, it is a transcendental sound board that should be made into a deluxe edition as a set with “ROCK IN A HARD PLACE”. A hidden treasure hidden in the original “record plant” of the original family. Please enjoy it to the fullest with the press CD that will forever convey its brilliance!
