2001 a-ha where “MINOR EARTH MAJOR SKY” for the first time in 7 years swept the whole of Europe. The best video that you can witness the stage is the gift release decision.
This work was filmed at the “June 2, 2001 Nürburg performance”. This is a multi-camera pro shot when he appeared in Germany’s biggest famous festival “ROCK AM RING”. Speaking of the revival period of the millennium, the official video work “LIVE AT VALLHALL: HOMECOMING” is also left, but of course this work is a separate performance. First, let’s look back on the activity outline at that time.

● 2000
・ February 25: Appearance of Spellemannsprisen
・ March 25 + April 7: Germany # 1 (2 performances)
“April 14” MINOR EARTH MAJOR SKY “released”
・ May 6-23: UK / Austria (4 performances)
・ November 8-18: Japan (7 performances)
・ November 24-December 1: Germany # 2 (7 performances)
● 2001
・ March 18-25: Eastern Europe / Northern Europe (5 performances) ← * Official HOME COMING
・ May 19th-July 7th: Europe (6 performances) ← ★ Coco ★
・ August 10: Smukfest Skanderborg appearance
・ December 11: Nobel Peace Prize Memorial Concert

This is 2000/2001 a-ha. There are many small schedules to call a tour, but Germany is the most popular center among them, and the most performances by far. Two German tours were also held, but the “ROCK AM RING” performance of this work is the second performance of the summer festival tour “Europe” leg, which is different from that. For us Japanese, the performance in Japan for the first time in 12 years is memorable, but it was the stage eight months after that.
Such a show was only the biggest festival in Germany, and it was broadcast on TV even on the famous program “ROCKPALAST”. This work is made into a DVD from the finest master. Due to the sweetness of the analog broadcasting of the times, it is hard to say “completely official grade!” By modern standards, but the visual beauty that can be said with full power by the standards at that time. Especially the master freshness is excellent, there are no dubbing marks and no deterioration over time. There is no white line noise, and the glossy color and stability make it feel as if you are receiving the broadcast waves of that time.
The beauty of the image is a full show that can be called “another HOME COMING”. First, let’s check from the set list.

● Classics (9 songs)
・ HUNTING HIGH AND LOW: The Sun Always Shines On T.V./Hunting High And Low / Take On Me
・ SCOUNDREL DAYS: I’ve Been Losing You / Manhattan Skyline / Cry Wolf
・ Others: The Living Daylights / Stay on These Roads / Crying In The Rain
● MINOR EARTH MAJOR SKY (7 songs)
・ Minor Earth Major Sky / The Sun Never Shone That Day / I Wish I Cared / Mary Ellen Makes The Moment Count / You’ll Never Get Over Me / Velvet / Summer Moved On

… And it looks like this. The name curve is narrowed down from “HOMECOMING” only for festival appearances. What is more unique than that selection is the performance itself. Thick clothes above all (laughs). The official “HOMECOMING” was in Scandinavia in March, when the cold was harsh, but since it was an indoor venue, all three had one shirt. Morten Harket was also singing with her breasts wide open. On the other hand, “ROCK AM RING” is an outdoor area where the wind blows. Standing out like ski wear, the singing voice in my heart sounds like it’s frozen. On the other hand, what is wonderful is the spectacle because it is outdoors. Because it is a festival, the huge set and the power of the large audience are wonderful, and the masterpieces are colored with powerful images.
It is a professional shot where you can enjoy a treasure trove of famous songs with the highest quality, and it is an “outdoor version of HOME COMING”, which reminds you of the wonderful performance in Japan. It is a masterpiece video work from any point of view. You can enjoy it even if you are not a fan, and it is an inevitable piece if you are a fan. Please take this opportunity to thoroughly enjoy yourself with the highest peak master.

HUNTING HIGH AND LOW:The Sun Always Shines On T.V./Hunting High And Low/Take On Me
・SCOUNDREL DAYS:I’ve Been Losing You/Manhattan Skyline/Cry Wolf
The Living Daylights/Stay on These Roads/Crying In The Rain
●MINOR EARTH MAJOR SKY(7曲)
・Minor Earth Major Sky/The Sun Never Shone That Day/I Wish I Cared/Mary Ellen Makes The Moment Count/You’ll Never Get Over Me/Velvet/Summer Moved On
