“MADISON SQUARE GARDEN 1970 8MM” and “L.A. FORUM 1977 8mm UPGRADE” are also popular 70’s 8mm archives. An additional new excavation master has decided to release an urgent gift.
This work contains a color image of a hidden treasure that lasts for about 23 minutes. This is an 8mm film shot at “Landbar Performance on February 10, 1975”. If you are an avid collector, you may remember the “Heartbreaker” video, which is about two and a half minutes from the venue and the date and time, but it is actually different. The live itself is the same, but another film shot from a completely different position. Moreover, it is a newly excavated film that is nine times as long as the conventional film.
The biggest feature of this film is that it captures the stage in a panoramic view. The slightly purplish color is similar to that of conventional film, but the projected scene is completely different. While the conventional version was captured from the arena seats directly under the stage, this work is a bird’s-eye view. According to the excavator, it was shot in the position of “Sky Suite # 1 of the Capital Center”, but in the usual way, it is “shooting from the second floor seat on the right side of the stage”. What’s more, you can see what you want to see on the stage only in the panoramic view, and you can understand the plant that you haven’t had during the guitar solo, the stage set with the shining logo, and the lighting system that illuminates from the sleeves.
And above all, the length is wonderful. This is the first video other than “Heartbreaker”. As anyone who has noticed this article knows, 8mm film in the 70’s has a short shooting time, and the limit is from a few seconds to a few tens of seconds per cut. Therefore, the standard method is to collect small pieces of video, infer the performance song from the content, and synchronize the sound. This work is also produced according to the standard, but it became even longer due to the method. Actually, the length of 8 mm excavated this time was “14 minutes”, but when compared with the audience recording of the day, it turned out that the speed of the reel was out of order. When I synchronized with the chitin at the same speed, there was “23 minutes”.
The land bar performance that was revived in that way was truly incredible. According to the excavated and released enthusiast, the reason why the audience recording was synchronized instead of the sound board is that it naturally matched the scene. In fact, there is no exaggeration in the words, and the vintage feeling of the slight hall sound and the slight sense of distance are extremely real. It synchronizes with the naturalness of an 8mm film photographer as if he had recorded the audio. Moreover, it is stable. The do-up of the conventional version of the film was also powerful, but since this work was taken carefully in a distant view, there was almost no blurring and it was very easy to see. It is also a special seating experience for Sky Suite.
Yes, this experience is the life of this work. Anyway, 8mm film of the 70’s attracts attention as a material value, but this work goes beyond that dimension and is sublimated to the feeling of “being in the field” of a historic show.
The 70’s 8mm film, which is precious even in 1 second, was newly excavated for 1374 seconds. It is one that synchronizes all of them with the audience recording at that time and revives it in the present age 47 years later. A historical video masterpiece that goes beyond mere historical materials to the dimension of a heart-warming on-site experience. Please take this opportunity to chew carefully.
★ Newly excavated 8mm film is released as a gift. It was taken at the Landbar performance on February 10, 1975, and it is a second-floor seat shot of about 23 minutes, which is completely different from the conventional version which was two and a half minutes. It is one of the hottest pieces that you can witness the scene 42 years ago from the special seat.
