Stryper’s new work “THE FINAL BATTLE” is about to be released. A masterpiece video work that allows you to witness the latest stage is now available.
This work contains two audience shots. It is a two-disc set with “May 8, 2022 Columbia Performance” on DISC 1 and “Winston Salem Performance on May 14, 6 days later” on DISC 2. Due to the new corona pandemic, I could hardly perform live after the previous work “EVEN THE DEVIL BELIEVES” was announced, but in the meantime, the shocking news that Oz Fox underwent brain surgery jumped in. Let’s check the schedule a little wider, even in the sense of knowing their recent situation.

This is the schedule for 2021-2023 that has been announced so far. Last year, due to the pandemic, we had sporadic performances from beginning to end, but from this spring, we started touring in earnest. This work was a concert corresponding to the 4th and 8th performances of “North America # 2” at the beginning.
This work, which is a vacuum-packed version of these two performances, is a superb view like a painting. Both are captured at about 30 degrees diagonally from the stage slightly to the right (closer to Perry Richardson), but anyway, it is furiously close! “The number of customers in front is not zero, so it doesn’t seem to be in the front row, but even so, it’s about the third row at most.” Moreover, the shield is almost zero. Writing “almost” seems like a nasty trick, but it’s not. The back of the head in the front row can be glimpsed at the bottom of the screen, so if you say “zero”, it’s just a lie. Moreover, such front-row customers are also among the members. In particular, the Columbia performance (DISC 1) has a high stage for the “M3 ROCK FESTIVAL”, and both Michael Sweet and Oz Fox can be seen directly.
The Winston Salem performance (DISC 2) is even more amazing, even the audio. It is wonderful to have a sense of stability as if you were using a tripod, but more than that, the powerful core is strong with the sound board beaming on. I don’t know the size of the venue, but it’s close enough to the 2nd or 3rd row, and it feels like a closed room like a club.
Another point is that the Winston Salem performance (DISC 2) has a long set. The Columbia performance (DISC 1) is about 1 hour for the festival appearance, but since this is a solo performance, you can enjoy about 80 minutes. Let’s organize the set together for two performances.

… and it looks like this. While the Columbia performance (DISC 1) is the greatest hits of yesteryear because of the festival appearance, the Winston Salem performance (DISC 2) is also studded with the repertoire after the reunion. Especially delicious are the new songs “Divider” and “This I Pray” from “EVEN THE DEVIL BELIEVE”. Currently, “THE FINAL BATTLE” is just around the corner, but it seems that “THE FINAL BATTLE” number will probably be included in the new song frame in future shows. Due to the pandemic, the tour accompanying “EVEN THE DEVIL BELIEVE” could not be done, so the “EVEN THE DEVIL BELIEVE” number may be a valuable song only now.
“Oz Fox, who made a remarkable recovery and showed us his energetic appearance as if he had never been seriously ill.” It is a superb view set where you can fully experience two performances in the special seats near the front. “STRYPER no Ima” is a rarity among veterans in recent years with its creative drive and enthusiastic performance. Please enjoy this work to your heart’s content.

The special seats are set up from about the 3rd row, and there are almost no obstructions. In particular, the Winston Salem performance (DISC 2) has a wonderful sense of stability that makes you feel as if you are using a tripod, and the sound board-like on and powerful voice is also intense. You can experience two delicious performances of the new songs of “EVEN THE DEVIL BELIEVES” that could not be toured.

新作『THE FINAL BATTLE』の発売も目前に迫っているSTRYPER。その最新ステージを目撃できる傑作映像作が登場です。
そんな本作に収められているのは２つのオーディエンス・ショット。「2022年５月８日コロンビア公演」をDISC 1に、６日後の「５月14日ウィンストン・セーラム公演」をDISC 2に配した２枚組です。新型コロナ・パンデミックもあって前作『EVEN THE DEVIL BELIEVES』発表後にほとんどライヴを行えなかったわけですが、その間にオズ・フォックスが脳手術を受けるという衝撃のニュースも飛び込んできました。そんな彼らの近況を知る意味でも、少し広めにスケジュールをチェックしてみましょう。

これが現在までに公表されている2021年ー2023年のスケジュール。昨年はパンデミックもあって散発的なステージ終始していましたが、今春から本格的にツアー活動を開始。本作はその序盤「北米#2」の４公演目と８公演目にあたるコンサートでした。
そんな２公演をを真空パックした本作は、画に描いたような絶景。どちらもステージやや右寄り（ペリー・リチャードソン寄り）から斜め30度くらいに捉えているのですが、とにかく猛烈に近い！　前方客もゼロではないので最前列ではないようですが、それでもせいぜい３列目くらい。しかも、遮蔽物がほぼゼロ。「ほぼ」と書くと何やらいやらしい誤魔化しのようですが、そうではありません。画面下部に前列の後頭部がチラッと映ったりもするので「ゼロ」と言い切ったらウソになると言うだけ。しかも、そうした前列客もメンバー間だったりする。特にコロンビア公演（DISC 1）は”M3 ROCK FESTIVAL”のためにステージが高く、マイケル・スウィートもオズ・フォックスもばっちり直視できるのです。
さらに音声までスゴいのがウィンストン・セーラム公演（DISC 2）。まるで三脚を使っているかのようにビシッとした安定感も素晴らしいのですが、それ以上にサウンドボードばりのオンで力強い芯が強烈。会場の規模は分からないのですが、２ー３列目という近さもあってまるでクラブのような密室感たっぷりなのです。
また、ウィンストン・セーラム公演（DISC 2）はセットが長いのもポイント。コロンビア公演（DISC 1）はフェス出演のために約１時間なのですが、こちらは単独公演なので約80分も楽しめるのです。それでは、２公演分まとめてセットを整理しておきましょう。

……と、このようになっています。コロンビア公演（DISC 1）はフェス出演だけあって往年のグレイテスト・ヒッツなのに対し、ウィンストン・セーラム公演（DISC 2）は再結成後のレパートリーも散りばめられている。特に美味しいのは『EVEN THE DEVIL BELIEVES』の新曲「Divider」「This I Pray」でしょうか。現在は『THE FINAL BATTLE』目前ですが、今後のショウでは恐らく新曲枠に『THE FINAL BATTLE』ナンバーが入ってくると思われます。パンデミックのせいで『EVEN THE DEVIL BELIEVES』に伴うツアーが行えなかった事もあり、『EVEN THE DEVIL BELIEVES』ナンバーは今だけの貴重曲になるかも知れません。
見事に回復し、大病などなかったかのように元気な姿を見せてくれたオズ・フォックス。その熱演を最前付近の特等席で２公演たっぷり体験できる絶景セットです。近年のベテランには珍しいほどの創作意欲と熱演で魅せる「STRYPERの今」。どうぞ、本作でお腹いっぱいご堪能ください。
