A multi-camera video series of the weekly 60th anniversary tour “Sixty”. Two of the latest bullets will be released at the same time this week.
This work is the second release of two simultaneous releases. Audience shot of “July 11, 2022 Brussels performance”. “Sixty” has already passed the turnaround, and the Brussels performance of this work is also the 8th performance out of 14 performances. At our shop, we report the tour in real time with audience shots, and all eight performances so far have been released with multi-camera images. First, let’s look back at the current state of the tour and the video collection that is currently underway.

This is the “Sixty” at the moment. Multi-camera footage takes time to produce, but the Brussels performance has already arrived. In addition, the 6 performances up to Hyde Park are also normally released as two big sets “EUROPE 2022 VOLUME 1: MULTICAM (Uxbridge 1678)” and “Same VOLUME 2 (Uxbridge 1698)”. For those who are starting to collect from now on, it will be difficult to collect one by one as a gift, so please make use of it.
By the way, this work that lets you fully experience such 8 performances is a multi-camera image that you can feel the heat of the scene for the first time in a while. The quality of the multi-camera series has improved significantly these days, and especially from the time the tour resumed, it was a series of super close-up shots that could be mistaken for professional shots. This work also uses a lot of powerful ups, but at the same time, a wild perspective that conveys the enthusiasm of the audience near the stage is also adopted. The crazy story is an angle with camera shake, but of course it is multi-camera editing, so if it is hard to see, it should not be adopted. While soaking in the best angle, you can feel the atmosphere where the show starts to move. On the other hand, it is between songs that the influence of rushing completion can be seen. There is almost no problem with the performance scene, but there are not enough images between songs, and there are some parts that are connected by still images.
Also, voice is more than just such a scene. This work is a type that applies the image to one of the best recordings, and the immersive feeling in the live performance is unparalleled. Moreover, the core is extremely thick and there is no sense of distance, and the bass, which tends to be squishy at outdoor venues, is powerful with each note. It cannot be a masterpiece in terms of editing skills and the quality of each angle, but when you reopen it and think of it as a “live album with multi-image”, it becomes one of the most powerful works in the series.
What is drawn with such visual beauty is a full show that balances the right path and the changing ball. To explain what that means, let’s organize the set here.

The above is divided into “fixed songs” and “daily songs” based on the data for 9 performances, but among them, “Street Fighting Man” and “19th” which can be said to be “semi-fixed” played at most shows. Nervous Breakdown, “Out Of Time” and “Living In A Ghost Town” are all available, and Keith Corner also selects the two most frequent songs “Slipping Away” and “Connection”. In that sense, it is a show that firmly holds down the most orthodox “axis”.
On the other hand, the changing balls are “Bitch” and “Beast of Burden”. The latter is the revival since Madrid on the first day, and the former is Brussels’ tour debut. In both cases, the frequency is such as whether or not to play several times a year, and because it is lined up with two songs, it is a powerful accent to the set with the same iron plate.

これが現時点での“Sixty”。マルチカメラ映像は制作に時間がかかるものですが、もうブリュッセル公演が登場したわけです。また、ハイドパークまでの６公演は２つのビッグ・セット『EUROPE 2022 VOLUME 1: MULTICAM（Uxbridge 1678）』『同 VOLUME 2（Uxbridge 1698）』として通常リリースもしております。これから集め始める方は１枚ずつギフトで揃えるのも難しいでしょうから、ぜひご活用ください。
さて、そんな８公演目をフル体験させてくれる本作は、久々に現場の熱気を感じられるマルチカメラ映像。このところのマルチカメラ・シリーズはクオリティ・アップが著しく、特にツアーが再開された辺りからはプロショットと見紛うスーパー接写の連発でした。本作もド迫力のアップが多用されてはいますが、同時にステージ付近の観客の熱狂が伝わるワイルドな視点も採用されている。ぶっちゃけた話が手ブレのあるアングルなのですが、もちろんマルチカメラ編集ですから見にくかったら採用はされていないはず。しっかりと極上アングルで浸りつつ、グイッとショウが動き出す雰囲気も感じさせてくれるのです。その一方で、完成を急いだ影響が見えてしまうのが曲間。演奏シーンはほぼほぼ問題ないのですが、曲間では映像が足りず、静止画で繋ぐパートが何ヶ所かあります。
また、そんな光景以上とも言えるのが音声。本作は１本の極上録音に映像を当てはめているタイプでして、生演奏へ没入感は比類ない。しかも、その芯は極太で距離感がなく、野外会場ではスカスカになりがちなベースもゴリゴリと１音１音が力強い。編集技やアングル１つひとつのクオリティでは最高傑作とはなり得ませんが、開き直って「マルチ映像付きのライヴアルバム」と考えると一気にシリーズ屈指の強力作になるのです。
そんな映像美で描かれるのは、正道と変化球を両立したフルショウ。その意味をご説明するためにも、ここでセットを整理しておきましょう。

……と、このようになっています。上記は９公演分のデータで「固定曲」「日替わり曲」を分けているわけですが、その中でもほとんどのショウで演奏されている「準固定」とでも言えそうな「Street Fighting Man」「19th Nervous Breakdown」「Out Of Time」「Living In A Ghost Town」が全部揃い、キース・コーナーも一番頻度の高い２曲「Slipping Away」「Connection」をセレクト。その意味では、もっともオーソドックスな「軸」をキッチリ押さえたショウなのです。
その一方で、変化球なのが「Bitch」と「Beast of Burden」。後者は初日マドリード以来の復活ですし、前者はブリュッセルがツアー・デビュー。どちらも最近は年に数回演奏するかどうかといった頻度であり、それが２曲並ぶからこそ鉄板揃いなセットに強力なアクセントとなっているわけです。
